Awesome thread, wish I read this a year ago.

Might I add:
shovel scam - Those who sold the shovels made all the money in gold rush of 1849.  Or arguably BFL/Avalon today.

and
tulip bulbs/buying tulips - The false analogy uninformed economic pundits make between the Dutch tulip bulb market bubble of 1637 and the current Bitcoin market.

Hi CRkfx1,

At the moment 'Shovel Scam' is not in common use on the forum. However, I belive 'Tulip Mania' is, and so it has now been added to the list.

Thank you.

a lot of terms come from economics, but the rest is very usefull.

put that topic static, so new people can see when getting to the forum..

The post was stickied until recently when it got de-stickied along with a number of other useful threads.

'kBTC'
KiloBitcoin = 1 thousand bitcoins = 1000 BTC.

I'm sorry, but my brain cannot possibly process such an enormous amount of money. This must be a denomination of Bitcoin from ancient times when hyperinflation ravaged the currency. Roll Eyes
