Hopping in with 20+gh. I have no ASICs (yet) but it's the best I can do. Who's with me?!
Are you using COGNITIVE's hardware for this? Why are you wasting money to save a useless coin?
You should do what is best for COGNITIVE and saving alt coins is not what COGNITIVE is for or the majority of the shareholders wants.

Slow down CashMoney, he never said anything about Cognitive in his comment.  He said "I," so don't assume he is just steering some of the companies hashing power towards an alt coin.  I'm pretty sure he wouldn't do that.

No, it doesn't need a week or two on Bytecoin for a change,
the fastest change (and so far the only one rising 4x) on Bitcoin took 3days, so it should be about the same for Bytecoin,
6days for 8x, 9days for 16x, 12days for 32x, then leave the network which will probably die out, because remaining miners need to create thousands of blocks to get the diff down to a level they can handle.

On TerraCoin it just happens quicker because
a) the target for average block creation is 2minutes, not 10 and
b) the difficulty adjusts every 30blocks, not 2016.

Let's see, here's the last TRC-diff-switches:
2542.17 x4
10168.683 x4
40674.735 x4
162698.94

Sure, on Bytecoin it needs more blocks to raise the difficulty, but it also needs more blocks to drop, so it's basically the same problem.

If the max is 4x how can it jump so much in one day?

The other day it was 6 digits diff and then the next day it was double digits diff. For bytecoin that would take on average a week or two between diff changes, so a large swing is not as possible so fast.

is the only difference TRC is 4 times faster? I was under the impression is wasn't just the 4 times faster blockchain that made TRC different.

Bytecoin is taking over

Well its been far more consistent mining Byte, and at least the diff can't just jump around like mad because its a Bit clone. Which I'm surprised was never attempted before.
The funny thing is, it works on Bytecoin just the same way.
As long as the total-network-hashrate is low, ASICs are a threat.

The big difference is the difficulty can only Jump 4x every 2016 blocks.

TRC the difficulty can jump much much higher.
ORLY?

Whoa, thats a lot of hash power for a non-ASIC!

Anyone want to let me and everyone else know what's going on with the TRC network?

It's not 0.0GH/s,
not sure what it is, but TRC-p2pool is currently at ~2.2GH/s.

The problem is, that the total-network-hashrate is quite low,
so when a few ASIC-owners join, they push the difficulty into limits that the rest of the network can not handle once the ASICs leave.
And that's exactly what's happening the last couple of days, when the difficulty is low, ASICs join and push it high up to the sky, then leave and remaining miners need hours and hours to create a single block (and probably also leave because it's not profitable anymore).

Good points. Well if people want TRC to survive they should mine it to help out. Especially if they have some as they won't be able to send in to anyone or trade it at the moment!
