For me I don't think the terrorist group is more powerful than the government. I don't think the government is even finding it difficult to eliminate the sect. I have my reasons for saying this.

On several occasions some of the sect members have been captured by the military and thrown into the prison but what happens next? The same federal government will end up releasing them on the account of repentant terrorist and have them reunited into the society again.

How can you be releasing confirmed terrorists who have killed hundreds of citizens back into the society and you expect terrorism to stop?
My conclusion is that the federal government of Nigeria is not fighting Boko haram to end the insurgency.

As for their threat to kidnap the president, I will not take them serious.

Terrorism does not deal with religion, so claiming that the terrorists are Muslims is incorrect; many people can hide behind the veil of religion and claim to be Muslims, but they operate in different parts of the country, including areas where only Christians live. There is a proverb that goes, "He who lives in a place knows the secret of that place," so for terrorists to attack the Christian side, it means there is a Christian among them, and the same is true for Muslims, so it is incorrect to say that the terrorists are Muslims.

Why do your thoughts seem so evil? Do you know that hell is more merciful than Abu Ghraib prison and Guantanamo? You can only demand that they be prosecuted and the maximum penalties applied to them. When we carry out crimes under the pretext that we are prosecuting them, that makes us just as terrorists.

Those terrorist groups, whether in Nigeria or elsewhere, are a natural product of the reality of poverty and ignorance that is rampant in society. The state is ruled by a political class that is entirely client abroad (France controls Nigeria).

In the example of Nigeria, the presence of Boko Haram is the pretext for the presence of a French military force on the ground. There is nothing new with trying to harm a president. Nigerians will not even miss president Buhari if he is kidnapped or something.

The country is just inserious about everything, especially for those occupying public offices. You could imagine how people rush into working with the government and completely detest a job in the private sector because they are mostly assured of a salary even when they don't get to do the job and would go about doing other businesses while working with the government.

That's what the government of Nigeria has made out of its people. There failure has caused a chain reaction that results in laxity in its citizens. You could imagine these guys in the assembly talking about impeachment just now, after the president have already spent 7years and some weeks out of his 8years in the office.

They were busy discussing irrelevancies and now, they've got the insecurity that the people were crying about right in there domain. Let them feel the hit and we would hope for a change in the forth coming government.

u guarantee you you can go to any country and find more then one person that wants to hurt, kill or kidnap their leader. where threatening so is called terrorism.

Well the truth have to be told, what do you expect from a country where a president is not capable of leading his country?
Out of +200m population, each year less than 1 percent or even more graduates from school every year. Only 0.03 percent gain job and 0.09 percent are self employed while 0.02 percent are desperately seeking for abroad visa to go away from the country due to hardship. Note: This rating is not in total of +200m population, is just a 1 percent of school graduates.
Both the old and Young are facing the same problem, the Rich and Poor facing same issues in the country, way of living became so hard and tough, rough.

At this point it increases the rate of Kidnapping, Kill for ritual, community vandalization, pipeline vandalization, highway robbery ect in the country. Yet the so called government kept borrowing from other countries like China for self gain, looting of money, borrowing in the name fixing the country and yet nothing to show up, every year by year same borrowing of money and no results, inflation rate very high.

Very hard to survive. If you checked in the market, market women are crying everyday by day no one to buy due to high price of food stuffs. Since no buyer they end up coming back home with it and go back the next day, same problems.

Summary.
Employment is the only key factor to fix Nigerian problems, in a way they raised people from hardship then you reduce rubbery, killing and pipeline vandalization.

The insecurity problem may not amount to the kidnapping of the president but many innocent people will be affected,  I have been following the insecurity issues in Nigeria,  their was a time some politicians were killed by terrorist.  Elections is by the corners citizens just need not to make the same mistake they made.

Terrorism in Nigeria as it is to the rest of the countries of the world is a growing concern. This is not so because terrorists in Nigeria have threatened to kidnap the country's president. But because terrorism is a maniac that has to be eradicated with all hands on deck. And by every possible mean. So to speak.

As it is now no life in the country is safe because if this so call Boko Harams can came out from their hidden places to kidnap people in the villages and cities of the nation and pass through all the Police and Military check points. They are moving for the president impeachment because the terrorist are at their door steps in the federal capital territory, since it was happening in others state they did not call for impeachment. But the truth be told Nigeria government has failed, this administration has nothing to write home about so if dey kidnap the president good for them because he was the cause of the problem why insecurity is the order of the day

OP, I can attest that the said country Nigeria is a failed country. I am a Nigerian and and I can publicly tell you that the Terrorist group also known as Boko Haram can attack and kidnap anybody they want to kidnap irrespective of who you are and the position or office you occupy. Last week the presidential convoy was attacked by the Boko Haram and till date, nothing has been done about it, what about the train attack and kidnapping that was carried out by the same terrorist group has anything been done to release all victims?  the owo church massacre that was carried out by the same terrorist group nothing has been done so I believe a country that can not protect its citizens from harm and unnecessary killings by unknown terrorist groups is a failed country.


The Boko Haram can attack and kidnap any politician even the president of Nigeria any day they want because they have every information necessary to do that unless the politician is out of the country or the president is out of the country too because he is always out of the country for medical check-ups.

I watch a documentary that happened long ago in some part of Africa where they successfully get to where the president is and killed him, If I'm not mistaken the country was Liberia, where corruption is widely spread, you can see it by watching the state of the people there. You can watch it on youtube to see how they cornered the president and ended his life. They really need to fix their country with everything they got, because when corruption will be eliminated, these so-called terrorists will also cease to exist, the example that is those countries that are successful for example Singapore, Japan, and South Korea.

I hear claims like this and I laugh. It's amusing as to how these guys come up with the notion that they could lunch a kidnap attempt on the president of a country, any country and succeed. I think it's something we should reserve for the movies.

Not to mention the inexperienced and not properly coordinated Nigerian Boko Haram that believes in brute force. They've only managed to persist so far because the Nigerian government have allowed them to operate without any trouble. Why? They are serving a purpose for them politicians but I think they would run out of that freedom should they kidnap an on seat president.

The fool force of the federal power would be on them, they would be investigated and found out. Not even one of them or there families would be left free to roam the streets.

That is to show the level of insecurity in the country as we speak under the leadership of the current president General Muhammad Buhari , Nigeria is just like a sheep without shepherd. He will only be traveling from one county to another without having to tackle the high insecurity problem facing the country and in the process Joeperdising with the lives of innocent Nigeria and this is a total mess. The 2023 come general election should be taken seriously by all citizens of the country and ensure they vote wisely because if they happens to get it wrong this time, then it means more suffering and problem for the entire citizens of Nigerian.

Boko Haram are a big and long lasting terrorist group so it's maybe best to look how other countrys have delt with that. In particular, ETA in Spain and IRA in Ireland have never been cracked down or shut down by the governments, rather they gradually watered down their approach and decided to take their causes in a mire political arena with IRA becoming a political party and members of ETA deciding to take political means towards independance. There are also some same examples in some Sounth American countrys. That being said, this is a religious movement first (I could be wrong), so maybe there will have to be a different approach. But a government crack down will probably not be efficiant.

As of yesterday the so called terrorist group ambushed the presidential guide convoy and killed 3 person from the attacked. At first I thought the terrorist group was just using that to threaten the president but from the attacked of the special guide to the president, I come to believe that the terrorist group is even more serious than ever. As it is. Everyone in the country sleep with one eye open, mostly at the Northern part of the country and their target are the Christians. Upon seen all these things like this and the NATIONAL GOVERNMENT could not do anything to stop the so called Boko Haram. Something is wrong at somewhere in Nigeria. Nigeria youths should wake up wake. Make sure you go out vote to remove the Muslim Muslim ticket and Atiku from PDP. APC and PDP are the problem we have in the country. Although, not the part but the candidates.
 

   If Nigeria President has been threaten to be kidnapped, maybe he is not performing his duties properly because, I have heard so many times on radio about the insecurity and insurgency in Nigeria. Bandits adopting and killing people in different states are areas of the country.
  I have also heard there is a high rate of corruption in Nigeria and how political leaders turns election into a do or die affair, not considering the masses that voted them into power after elections

  All these are problems that can result ireopen.reatening the government and economy instability. The president should be able to calm and address all these problems as the first citizen of the country.
   His failure of doing all these has made some persons to look into kidnapping him  for a change of government because these terrorist  are sponsored by some persons.
