Bad news for all the people following Elon like lemmings off a cliff into Doge. I honestly don’t know why people put so much stock into what Elon does, he has a long history of trolling and erratic behavior, and he’s not a particularly good role model (threatening to fire workers for not reporting to work during a pandemic when the county said it wasn’t safe to open his factory, calling a journalist a pedo on twitter because he criticized Elon’s narcissism, using twitter to pump his company stock with materially false information, etc.) Unfortunately, this board is going to be flooded with Elon worship even more now just because of this. We need better heroes.

Bad news for people that invest their hard-earned money just because someone said something on a social platform. I am so over feeling sorry for people that still invest in that way. For others that look at this whole crypto thing as a long-term commitment, someone hyping a coin or some big shot name buying another means Jack shit. Heroes and Villains, role models...we are talking about CEOs of multinational companies, please let's not look to them as role models. At best let's judge their companies on what good day do to our society, if any. If I look at this more positively, this could be a nice step forward to get others to invest their capital into projects that revolve around crypto.

It is not always a win-win situation, if there was a strong regulation in the crypto industry then it shouldn't be such easy to manipulate the market by big whales. The strategy of Elon and his shillings are moving the crypto market and the worst part is consequences of speculative tweets affect the daily livelihood of other crypto traders. The BTC can easily cross the $80000 price mark if Tesla continues to pump it but the other players should support the investment decisions of Elon Musk too.

If you think this was the move alone, then you're mistaken mate. BTC has just started and it's not Elon Musk who's alone influencing the whole crypto rise but yeah, the level of impact he's able to make on others is much more compared to all the other influencers combined. And why won't other investment firms enter BTC while seeing how rapidly and gradually the markets are widening their approach everywhere nowadays?

Don't you guys think Elon entered BTC a bit too late? Or do they believe that BTC will be worth at least 10 times than it is now? Because such a huge value of investment will only be worth when it sees at least some great form of turn over through itself and BTC does have the potential to get above such levels considering the fact that almost all institutions are now coming ahead into including BTC in their portfolio which is definitely a win-win for crypto.

and they even plan to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment soon!
For Teslas?  I thought they already did, no?

That's interesting about them buying all that bitcoin--I don't know exactly what's up with these companies snapping up bitcoin like it's going out of style, but it certainly has helped the price.

Its like Michael Saylor's analogy.
Holding FIAT/Cash at the moment is like owning a big block of ice in your back
garden, its slowly melting into the ground, what to you do ? move it to somewhere where
it stops melting. In FIAT terms the most viable option is Bitcoin.

For Teslas?  I thought they already did, no?
Please dont ask questions like this... it is easy to visit Tesla website and see what they accept for payment and Bitcoin is still not there.

Can you imagine?
I can also imagine that Bitcoin is going much higher than it is now and Elon Musk is not so stupid to throw away 1.5 billions like that.
And so what if Bitcoin drops again, some people are looking more long term, so don't worry so much about their sake, their earned a lot from their own Tesla pump.

I think because in the previous years he also said about accepting BTC as payment for the cars. I remember there was a thread about this, it's not the first time he bought BTC, even way before 2016, he already was investing BTC.  1.5B today though is really huge that it helped touch a new ATH.

-snip-

Well according to CNBC Tesla will be accepting Bitcoin for their cars.

Tesla to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment soon!

If I remember correctly, credit cards and other merchants withdrew support to pornhub. In retaliation for pornhub offering bitcoin support. Then pornhub was attacked by the media who claimed pornhub "supports" human trafficking and other nasty business.

We have seen VISA move into the Crypto space by offering banks Crypto payments and trading support.
The space is changing.

I think Elon Musk does this for a reason, more than once there has been information that he is somehow connected with one of the cryptocurrencies-doge, there has never been confirmation of this, but he does not swing the cryptocurrency market from side to side only knows how, but also loves)

I am sure he has his reasons, as I am sure that we can't even imagine what he is trying to accomplish! I am not even sure is it possible that after his adding Bitcoin in his biography can affect price to rise +10% in just an hour or less, like I am not sure now did he really bought these Bitcoins, or it's just a marketing... he could buy them months, or years ago... it's not like he doesn't have money for that!
Well whatever it is, and it can be literally anything, it's a good marketing for Bitcoin and the entire crypto market!

I believe that the cryptocurrency market at this stage is only at the very beginning of a bull run. And if we take into account all the forecasts that exist today, then even taking into account the current prices for bitcoin, only the lazy does not invest. Therefore, it does not surprise me that large companies such as Tesla are investing huge amounts of money in Bitcoin.

It will be very very interesting to see if Elon Musk/tesla/spacex receives a similar treatment. The media has spent the past 3 years passive aggressively attacking Elon Musk/spacex/tesla after it was found that Elon Musk donated funds to the republican party.

Elon Musk Unmasked as Top Donor to House Republican PAC

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has been revealed as a top donor to a Republican PAC aimed at keeping control of Congress. Filings published by ProPublica this weekend show Musk contributed $38,900 to the Protect the House PAC, joining the likes of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and Houston Texans owner Robert McNair in the PAC’s top 50 donors.

Today is a history for Bitcoin because its price skyrocketed to its highest point. I wonder what will happen when the big companies that have bought Bitcoin sell their assets. The going market is much worse than the previous year. But that is all only a small possibility, because right now I am sure that it will still have an even more valuable value. Because many people are aware, that the only investment that can fight the banking system is Bitcoin, so Tesla is only a group of companies that have taken an important part of the upcoming economic changes.

If they will accept bitcoin as a payment then it would be great because this would be a mass adaption for the people who doesn't know about bitcoin. Due to this buying of around 1.5B it will shakes the world and Elon will open a new gate that people will also support bitcoin. This news was really a shocking news because many people didn't know that Elon will really support bitcoin because they know that Elon is trolling sometimes.

Elon can support both you know that, its just that bitcoin is a far better investment at this moment. This will be a big move for Tesla, I would place my bet on the part where they would get their stock price more higher. Who should be the role model to follow then? I mean I don't know any one, almost every businessman that is famous that I know of is either private for their lives or straight up scummy, the best move is to not look at it emotionally, if this can make stocks and bitcoin go higher then we should just go for it, let it on the right ear and get out of the right, in fact, don't even listen what this billionaires says about everything online because most of the time it is probably a publicity stunt.

That's interesting about them buying all that bitcoin--I don't know exactly what's up with these companies snapping up bitcoin like it's going out of style, but it certainly has helped the price.  And obviously the shareholders of Tesla and the other companies that bought bitcoin don't seem to mind very much.  But that's because we're in a raging bull market.  I suspect that if bitcoin's price was languishing or even dropping, there would be more resistance to these kinds of buys.

For their sake, I hope bitcoin doesn't take a massive hit such that they need to sell; that could be disastrous for everyone holding bitcoin for the long-term.  Can you imagine?

Elon Musk is not only a good troll but he is a proven smart investor as now it's confirmed that Tesla bought 1.5 Billion in Bitcoin, and they even plan to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment soon!
SEC filing confirmation:

Quote
"In January 2021, we updated our investment policy to provide us with more flexibility to further diversify and maximize returns on our cash that is not required to maintain adequate operating liquidity," reads the filing. "As part of the policy, which was duly approved by the Audit Committee of our Board of Directors, we may invest a portion of such cash in certain alternative reserve assets including digital assets, gold bullion, gold exchange-traded funds, and other assets as specified in the future. Thereafter, we invested an aggregate $1.50 billion in bitcoin under this policy and may acquire and hold digital assets from time to time or long-term."
