If Musk wants to have a positive impact on the Cryptocurrency market, he has to do it. Let Tesla put a Bitcoin wallet in his car and share a photo. I don't know how much the Bitcoin price rises. However, a serious impact can occur.

Actually he could, for lols, paint a Bitcoin logo in an object SpaceX launches aiming for moon. Remember we are talking about the guy did send his car to Mars for lols (albeit its technically just orbiting, or was it just a fly by?)

What is the meaning behind this joke? Bitcoin goes Moon...

If Elon Musk doesn't hold any bitcoin assets, except for 0.25 BTC which is a very small amount that an investor would hold, then why should news outlets rave about his comments about bitcoin? This has less to do with Tesla and the other companies that he controls and more about why people get exited when they think some famous people on twitter are speculating financial prices when actually they're just talking about their own business' sales.

This guy has a big support to bitcoin from the very start. He even said that he is optimistic about this technology brought by bitcoin. And his tweet is powerful, let's admit it. Coming from a popular company's owner who loves to spread positive insight will definitely influence other people to look greater opportunities with btc like investinng into it.

He's one of the person to look up to when it comes to innovation, it was predicted that he will really make change in the future and will be one of the millionaire.

Yes, he's also one of the positive regarding crypto and he believes in it a lot, that's why he keep saying that Bitcoin is future, as technology is future.

Holy crap these crypto "news sites" really need to freakin calm down. Do they actually think that tweet was actually worth writing about? It doesn't mean crap. Everything for the article ad revenue I guess.

Spot on!

They will keep on doing that for advertisements.
Ain't them all?!  Grin

Thank you Elon Musk for providing a (mass) profit for all those who wears advertisements in their articles. (Must) really be worth the tweet.
He should stop hiding behind that (mask).  Grin

Certainly, that's why his support means a lot to bitcoin. Good thing he already saw the benefits of this cryptocurrency and is for it. Nevertheless, we must also exert our own efforts into keeping this coin alive at the very least. He might've caught wind of the halving that caused him to show support on bitcoin once again.

Journalists can turn any random message into some “important” news. Elon Musk just tweeted something about Bitcoin, without any hints. I think that people should be easier to relate to the statements of famous personalities and not give them a particularly strong meaning.

I know this guy is rich and influent in the world, Paypal, Tesla, SpaceX....ok
But related to BTC, what's the reason to give so much attention to this kind of news?

This is something I don't understand Huh

It's simple. Every subject that is even remotely related to Bitcoin (in this case an influential person mentioning Bitcoin), will be used by news outlets to spin up an article and shove that through people's throats. I am not surprised about it and kinda understand the business model behind it, they just want to generate as much volume as possible, which in the end brings in the money.

People need to calm down and just ignore articles they deem unworthy of reading. Spend your time better by reading articles that you do like. Smiley
I see many tweets and also post in all over social media and those people are getting hyped because of the post of Elon Musk. Even if he his my idol, I do not get hyped to what did he say because I understand how the market works. I do not also use fundamental analysis so I always ignoring the news, rumors or even the opinions of the influential person all over the world.

Yeah people think like every elon musk tweet is a holy word bestowed unto humanity by the almigty elon while it is just nothing more than random blabbering. I know how most of people in the tech admire elon musk but seeing him to be overly praised and getting his boots licked like this seems ridiculous.

I agree, and I wrote pretty much the same thing in another thread about this tweet.  This is the main reason why I don't visit any of these crypto news sites.  Their standards of journalism are questionable at best, and who knows what their credentials are.

This tweet of Elon Musk's is confusing at best, and I'm not sure why it's such a big deal.  It's not really a statement about bitcoin at all and probably reveals more about his sex life than anything else.

I agree that it's probably nothing, but I don't understand why the mods (supposedly it was them) deleted the thread someone started yesterday to discuss this...
Ah, maybe that's why I had a post deleted.  I was wondering about that--I didn't get a PM so I figured it must have been a thread I'd posted in that got nuked.

Perhaps this thread was created earlier, though, but I did not see it. Anyway, my view on the matter is that Elon Musk was probably trying to joke or something like that. This tweet does not sound like an attack on Bitcoin, and Musk does not strike me as a guy who would attack it. He's been alright about cryptocurrencies and about Bitcoin specifically. He even considered its implementation in future projects.

Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency community still exist, though governments around the world don't like it. So an Elon Musk tweet won't have too much impact on this market, if he doesn't like it he can leave. Everyone still works normally even without him.

Why is it so important that Elon Musk need to accept bitcoin? This is opinion, let's leave him to say anything he likes after all he is in charge of his own opinion and thought. The entire Bitcoin ecosystem do not really needs Elon Musk to be successful. It's already successful.  It is just the matter of time for it to gain mass adoption...
Haha. Lol
That's right! The whole community of cryptocurrency especially bitcoin has been lived for a decade even without his consent. We don't need to believe for people who just an extra to the scene. Remember, bitcoin pumped above 18K dollars not because of a single action or person. It moved upward because of its capacity to surge and be a top cryptocurrency without Elon Musk.

bitcoin is working properly, not controlled by the government and transparent that's why for me its also already successful

I think he may just give a response, but with the position he has a big name makes people will be easily influenced by the posts he made. so as long as he comments there is nothing wrong, if you want to make a comment back it's good to give a response that can sound repulsion that makes other people will not easily believe his words.

Wasn't there a similar topic yesterday? I think it disappeared somewhere maybe it got deleted  Huh

Tesla is in an uptrend similar to the ones Apple and Microsoft went through. That said Musk is throwing money away trying many different projects at once like that express tunnel, space projects, powerwall... Some are returning good profits and some are not. It's basically a one man company. If something happens to Musk the stocks will fall.

This is sad but true. I don't think any of his companies would fare good without him. They may linger along for a awhile but their would simply go out, Like an Apple without the Steves or even Microsoft without Gates and Ballmer; its simply not the same.

No idea why he mentioned bitcoin, maybe because of it being used as "safe" against an unstable economy? It really doesn't matter.

The powerwall is technically a Tesla product, its simply the very same car batteries used as UPS. I guess its just a bi-directional grid tie inverter connected to the LI-ion batteries which charge and discharge as needed. The home edition is i think around 10% of the batteries a Tesla car would have, there is a commercial edition as well (MOAR batteries).

Well at least he puts attention to bitcoin again and interest will be generated. Though i find it difficult to understand what that was about. To me it doesn't seem to be a negative tweet. The guy's a visionary. I think he's leaning more on crypto's side rather than sharing warren buffet's view.

Didn't know that "safe word" expression is related to sexual activity, but now that I know Elon could have referred to the candlestick terminology used by some avid traders out there. I'd say we should expect a major pump or dump soon.
