Yeah, they were. But one fact, they still have the investment with bitcoin. And AFAIK, they've just sold 10% of it and with the purchase they made, the average price of bitcoin when they did that was $31k so, it means that they're still in profit.

He keeps on talking about Dogecoin so it's really the best choice for him to accept payments only in Dogecoin. But I think it will change his mind and will start to accept payments again in bitcoin.

This is good news for Doge coin holders and lovers. The adoption of Dogecoin as a means of payment is another 'plus' for the crypto space as a whole. Elon Musk have actually carved out a niche for himself in the crypto industry and will be remembered for this. Indirectly, he is also an inspiration for all those that look down on crypto as well as source of inspiration for industries/establishments. Im sure with this and remember that it's only for merchandise so that being said that if the doge coin holders that wanna try to buy the tesla car must also convert their doge coin to the cash to buy the tesla car.
This announcement didn't mean a lot fot he doge coin holders. The adoption of doge coin by tesla on its merch store didn't give a very big impact to the doge coin.
that's why elon asking mcdonald to adopt doge coin as mcd has so many users that actively doing transaction in the store and this will be increasing the demand for the doge coin.

I think its one of the first master stroke by elon about his doge plan. Very seen we could see that people can buy starlink data by doge coin. Like shiba Inu doge could also be accepted by many online ecommerce platform in the near future.

The pump can sustain for longer and it's dumping again right now. The reason is due to the bitcoin consumes a lot of energy. So many bitcoin miners are also moving to use green energy but it seems like that elon didn't even think about it again right now. This announcement is not so big and i thought that it was being used to pay tesla car but it's only merch.

I seem to have heard of this too before tesla accepts doge / btc . will people be easily tempted by just this statement? I think with what previously happened at Doge, many people are aware that influencers or famous people are not a guarantee that a coin will go up.

When an investment advice is announced by a public figure like Mr. Elon, even it's a bullshit, people will react by FOMO. And this is how such a big influencer can reach his greedy goals easily.
Note that in his announcement, he didn't mention why Doge is better than bitcoin as a payment method. If so, then why other businesses don't use it the same way.

Although it's easy to discover that it's a hype declaration by just asking two questions:
1- Why Mr. Elon chose Doge from more than 16k cryptocurrencies in the market?
2- What's his opinion about the Doge's inflationary supply?

I do like SpaceX and the Tesla cars, but I don't like how Elon Musk uses his twitter account to promote or banish crypto projects. He has a huge followership that will buy anything he prompts without thinking twice. We know that Elon Musk is one of the whales behind the doge coin market, so promoting it will benefit him directly. Accepting dogecoin by Elon Musk as well as Tesla is obviously a good thing for the Dogecoin. And obviously it is good for all the cryptocurrency. Though we cant get the result instantly. We have to wait for a long time for the good result.

They did a dry run on accepting DOGE when buying Merch and I think it went well, this adoption is indeed a great opportunity for DOGE and for sure it will create another hype for this meme token which I think will begin once the market recovers. Though this news doesn’t move the price of DOGE that much, maybe the hype is not there yet but soon it will come, better to have some DOGE now while it is still cheap.

Well we have to be careful here, Tesla only accepts Dogecoin as payment for their merch and i guess the sales volume of their merch is very low compared to their sales volume for cars. One of the reasons, or at least a factor that increased the bullrun of last year was the announcement that Tesla accepts Bitcoin as payment, not only for their merch but also for their cars. Of course people are crazy enough to buy Dogecoin just because Elon Musk made another tweet about it, but that news is very small in comparison to the one of last year. I am not sure, if Tesla will ever accept Dogecoin as a payment method for their cars.. in the end it's just a sh*t-coin.
