so tesla himself designed this car even though he's been dead for more than 70 years? man, he was even more of a genius than i first thought.
good to see a nature friendly electric vehicles manufacturer woke up from dead, electric vehicles is future and people unfortunately missed it 70 years back, just see now tesla getting its popularity growing day by day so their effort is not going to be wasteful

I'm not aware about the import duties in Finland but I'm aware that in Norway Tesla has sold lots of cars there, it is also known as the best selling car in the recent years, if the duties/tax/vat are ~$70k for a tesla car in Finland then this is absurd.

it probably isn't that insane but i wouldn't be surprised if the price is alot higher than elsewhere in europe but i know nothing about current policies.

i'll also guess that electric cars in norway don't get hit with their huge import taxes which is why they sell so many. since there ain't any norwegian made performance cars, if you wanna go fast a tesla's the cheapest option.

People who own Tesla's have many priviledges on some places in Europe, like free parking, many cheaper service comparing to the oil cars, if these cars are sold for bitcoin it's ok but for a much higher price it's not.

quote from The director of Auto-Outlet Helsinki Oy "The world is changing rapidly, and we want to be ahead of the game, that’s why we started the sale of a Tesla and other electric cars years ago. In this frame of reference, it is natural that we wanted to be also the first BTC’s payments accepting car dealership here in Finland.” (source new.bitcoin.com)

They are positive and will continue to support btc, thats great news for all of us, since the price of btc will increase surely

I know very well the Tesla prices and there isn't any tesla model that costs 200,000 Euros (~221,470 USD). The maximum price that a tesla can cost is 147,500 USD including taxes and other things, but the fact that was paid in bitcoin I don't think is fear to pay a double price.

it was sold in finland. most scandinavian countries have insane import duties even on ancient second hand junk. i dunno what the score is in finland but you'll be paying a hefty premium compared to the us most likely.

Maybe yea on the BTC but the rolling steel coffin?  NO TY.
I see all cars as rolling steel coffins.   Not sure if that's what you meant or just the Tesla.  Either way,  if someone paid for a Tesla with platinum bullion I'd be just as impressed.  Not-fucking-at-all.  Anyone else feel the same way?

Soon enough other models will be sold for bitcoins, cool Cool

This deal is really a high amount of bitcoins, based on the article below 200.000 Euros.
And is equal to 335BTC which probably were held by an early adopter or by a rich people.
It's not easy to buy this huge amount of bitcoins at once, and Tesla is going to make a big step supporting bitcoin.

if even 1k purchases are made using bitcoins then tesla has automatically made a boost in bitcoin prices. I love what Elon Musk is contributing to the community of free internet and better lives. Whatever happens we can be sure that btc price would increase by this endeavour (even if it means a little change)

That is really huge transaction in bitcoins!
I wonder how many confirmation's that transaction needed Tongue
thanks to the guy that bought it,we will have our bitcoin more and more demanded Smiley

Guess it was double spent or zero fee Tongue, I think we should not care about that transaction but the fact the bitcoin was used in that deal which is not small. But a tesla does not cost 200.000 Euros?

Being Tesla, they let you customise your car and if you chose every feature it could easily hit 200,000 Euros.

Did you people saw "Payment method Bitcoin, once again. We can offer you any car brand, new or pre used" so basically we can buy any car with bitcoins now, and "World wide delivery!" sounds great I think. This kind of things will attract people, and for sure this is very positive promotion for bitcoin.
Now we have one more reason to keep our coins, one day we can buy even a car. Well I hope we will see new buyers soon.

For sure many people would be curious about Bitcoin because it's used to buy a tesla car. As you said this is a very positive thus we must save our btc maybe in the future many car companies would allow Bitcoin as a payment which it would be a very good news to anyone.

i had a look over one a while back. it's nice but not nice enough to justify the price. you can get a jaguar or something for far less that'll be more comfortable and better built. i didn't like the standard of the finish very much. i know it's electric and cool but i'd have to live with it day to day.

and that's an amount of coins that'll have you screaming like the pizza guy in a few years if the price carries on rising. i get pissed off enough buying a cellphone before a price rise with bitcoin.
