WTC point table update

Savior and the biggest entertainer of Test Cricket are in their usual 8th position. They cemented this position for some time now and this standing will remain the same for a couple of months because of no test cricket.

As of now, India and Australia seem favorite candidates for the Finals. Kiwis and Proteas might have some chance as well.

I just realized had India didn't win the match by an inning and had England put some good lead then Jaiswal could possibly have surpassed Gavaskar's 774 run record (highest runs scored by an Indian in the test series), Jaiswal concluded the current series with total of 712 runs.

If I am not wrong Gavaskar 774 run came from 9 innings as well so it's kind of compensated, me too waiting for the record to be broken but Eng fell short and gave inning win to team India.

Jaiswal is the biggest positive from this series and he made his opening slot permanent probably in all three formats with this kind of performance and Other debutants except Patidar gave pretty good impressions but when big names back they have to be at the bench and waiting for their opportunity.

I stand with Palestine.
NZ team were all out for just 162 runs in first innings and Aussies were in same condition but its Marnus Labuschagne 90 runs that took them ahead of NZ. In second innings, NZ batsmen played with caution but it was too late by that time. If you give around 100 runs lead to team like Australia in first innings then its very difficult to get back in the game. Aussies once again proved that they are too good in test format.
I agree that giving a team like Australia a 100 runs lead in the first innings is a difficult position to come back from especially in test cricket format. And as you mentioned the performance of Marnus Labuschagne was crucial in helping Australia take the lead and ultimately secure the win. And we all know that it is clear that Australia strength in the test format was on display in this match. And I think New Zealand will need to regroup and come back stronger in the next match to have a chance at competing with a team like Australia.

Toss played crucial role as well, here pitch was getting better to bat day by day but usually it will be in the reverse, still standing up when they needed badly is something great and Aussies known for doing that and this victory doesn't surprise me much cause they have been completely dominant over Kiwis in test while playing in NZ for the last decades.

After Australia lost 5 batsmen for 80 runs I don't imagine they will be able to win this match. But in the end Australia got a pretty easy win. Australia team managed to defeat the New Zealand team despite a terrible performance by the top order batsmen.

Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey's great partnership helped the Australian team to win this match. Mitchell Marsh collected 80 runs from 102 balls, and Alex Carey was unbeaten with 98 runs from 123 balls. Pat Cummins also managed to play a much-needed innings of 32 runs.

New Zealand lost the match due to poor batting in the first innings. New Zealand's collection in the first innings was only 162 runs. The team scored 372 runs in the second innings, and set a target of 279 runs. However, due to Marsh and Carey's excellent batting, New Zealand lost the match.

It would have been a brilliant achievement but I am very much satisfied with an inning win, this type of win means complete domination and doesn't come easy.

He had a chance to go big during 1st inning though because the pitch was brilliant to bat on, had he controlled his aggression then there was a good chance of him getting another ton and possibly breaking Gavaskar's record.

New Zealand deserved a win, but what to say? Matt Henry's brilliant performance went in vain. They had Australia at 43/4, then 80/5 and again at 220/7. When Mitchell Starc got out, they still needed another 61 runs to win, with just 3 wickets in hand. But all of their bowlers, who had performed extremely well till then, ran out of gas. Ben Sears was impressive and took 4 wickets in the second innings. But everyone else failed, in front of the lower order (Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey and Pat Cummins). But even now, Australia are well behind India, as far as the points table in WTC is concerned.

Matt Henry who was doing so good in first 3 days of the game failed to pick wickets when NZ needed it badly. NZ were able to break partnership between Marsh and Head but then there is 140 runs partnership between Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey. It was first innings poor batting that costed NZ this match and the series. If NZ had not given such a huge lead in first innings then we might have different result of the game.

New Zealand team was whitewashed by Australia in Test series like T20 series. When New Zealand lost five wickets for 80 runs in England's second innings many were speculating that New Zealand might win the Test match. Maybe the New Zealand team thought they could win the match but the Australian batsmen put water on their plans with a good batting performance to win the match by three wickets. Basically a 140-run partnership between Mitchell Marsh  and Alex Carey took Australia to the brink of victory. Alex Carey and Pat Cummins then put on another good partnership when Mitchell Marsh got out adding 61 runs.

New Zealand continues sucking against their Trans-Tasmanian rivals on their own turf. Southee should have given more overs to Sears and Henry instead of bowling himself. Bad captaincy!

Carey and Marsh resurrected them brilliantly while Cummins was the great wall as usual. The current Australian team is truly something else.

The world champions showed their mettle once again, proving why they're the best. Australia has a knack for turning tough situations into easy victories. Their lower-order batsmen stepped up brilliantly, leaving the BlackCaps bowlers helpless. After their nail-biting victory in Christchurch, Australia now sits in second place in the WTC25 standings.

New Zealand vs Australia, 2nd Test 2nd innings is one the way.  New Zealand collected 162 and 372 runs. New Zealand didn't Play well in 1st inning but they developed themselves a lot in 2nd innings. They made huge runs, Tom Latham did 73, Rachin Ravindra  did 82 runs. Even Williamson have done century. Even they also bowled well too in the start of 2nd inngins. Australia collected 256 runs in 1st inngins but in 2nd innings, they are struggling and lost 4 wickets at 77 runs till now. Most of top batsman out and still need 202 runs. It'll be hard for Australia to come to back. Maybe they would lost the match.

New Zealand is still having the upper hand in the test match against Australia. The Aussies still need another 202 runs, with 6 wickets at hand. Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh are at the crease and if they lose two more wickets, then the tail will start with Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. Ben Sears seems to be in exceptional form. But the biggest threat for Australia comes from Matt Henry. So far he has taken 9 wicket so far and I am sure that the tally will go further up by tomorrow.

New Zealand team fought well in second innings to keep there hopes alive for the series. Australians have got a lead of 94 runs in first innings but it was neutralised by New Zealand 362 runs in second innings. Matt Henry bowled 23 overs in first innings and got 7 wickets while so far in second innings he has bowled only 9 overs and got 2 wickets. Australians defiantly will trying to figure out a plan on how to survive Matt Henry since that's the only way they can survive in this match.

It was another fantastic day for the Blackcaps, especially with their bowlers turning the game around. Matt Henry has been outstanding, and Ben Sears is also performing well. Tomorrow's cricket match looks promising, especially if Matt Henry maintains his excellent bowling form. However, they need to watch out for the dangerous partnership between Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head. It's crucial for New Zealand to clean them up early in the morning session; otherwise, the match might slip away from them. The morning session will be the most critical period of play tomorrow and will likely determine the outcome of the match.

NZ need to break the current partnership between Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head as quickly as possible. Aussies have the legacy that there is always a batsmen that performs when rest are not. We saw a rescue innings from Marnus Labuschagne in first innings and if current partnership is not broken game will slip away from NZ. Good batting from NZ in second innings and now they have a chance to level the series.

Australian batting is consistently falling down which is surely concern for them now after third day of second test match we have Australia out of the game because they still needed 202 runs and their all top order back to pavilion thanks to Matt Henry who took 9 wickets in this match and still can bring more damage to them in second inning we have good batting from the New Zealand four batsmen able to score 50+ and Scott Kuggeleijn able to score 44 runs which helps them for having 372 runs and lead of 279 runs which is good enough on this pitch and then bowlers also done good job 4 early wickets on just 34 runs
I placed my bet in favour of Australia but Australia are back seated after their top order four bastem are gone in the second inning of the second test match against New Zealand. Australia needs a brilliant more than hundred runs partnership and more than 202 runs to win this test match and win this series. New Zealand's brilliant bowling performance Matt Henry did amazing by taking nine wickets so far in this test game. New Zealand played well four batsmen scored fifty runs that helped to score a big lead for Australia. I think Matt Henry will take ten or more wickets in this test match and surely will win the game if they take the wickets Of Mitchell and Travis Head then New Zealand win the match and level the series.

We have seen how New Zealand were beaten by Australia in the T20 series between Australia and New Zealand and they were defeated by Australia in the first Test match as well. The New Zealand cricket team finally made a chance to win the second Test match between New Zealand and Australia. New Zealand's bowlers have squeezed the Australian batsmen from the start in Australia's second innings currently collecting 77 runs for 4 wickets. If the New Zealand bowlers can keep bowling the way they are bowling, they will be able to restrict Australia to very few runs in the second innings. New Zealand batted better in the second innings than the first innings as a result of which they scored 372 runs. Similarly New Zealand bowlers bowled well during Australia's second innings due to which they have a chance to win this match.
