I missed the hype around Tezos. Could some one explain to me shortly, why I should care about Tezos? I know that it is a staking coin with profit around 10% per year, but also ADA, ETH plan to release staking program, so why to choose Tezos? Thanks!

This is a different topic and this thread should remain focused on Tezos. I didn't know about that partnership in Singapore but well, that's a good news and looks big on the part of Tezos. That probably made them call about tezos and that's why they are supporting the coin and advertising it even more just like the other coins that they're supporting.
I think the impact of this will be seen for a long term basis which will benefit most of the early holders.

Being just staking focused is not my preferred feature too. Having a real product is one of the features that has always been discussed. Also, if the price drops at the end of the year when the 10000 XTZ for staking is frozen for 1 year, what about Plan B?

Tezos managed to stay up during a very bad period for the altcoins that is why they are in top 10 right now. Before we can say tezos is one of the elites and they are here to stay we need to give them some more time. Sure, you can invest right now if you are hoping it will stay here because that means they will go up on top of this price while the others go up as well in order to not lose their spot, but for us to say they are sure fire top 10 we need to wait at least a year to see how they do and if they will crumble or not.
I am still not 100% convinced about EOS and it is uprising in 2019 and how they became a prominent top 10 coin suddenly, it will take me a lot more for tezos which is even more brand new to these places than EOS. However, it is obvious tezos is not a shitcoin that is for sure.

Well it seems that tezos has come along the way no doubt about since their POS is great compared to others. But I guess the rank position of XTZ will still remain for bout a couple of years since the remaining competitors ahead is also popular like ethereum, EOS and BNB. Indeed I commend the development of Tezos through the years.

This is very temporary, which means tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, next week or next month the rank will go down. Indeed this is a good achievement for tezos. Also being accepted to a popular exchange site really contributes a lot. It will give a sense of security for those who already owned it and also garner more attention to attract people for the influx of capital, therefore, increases the overall market capitalization of this coin. Not trying to exaggerate things but the impact result of good progression and recognition is what makes a project.

As tezos is getting more people that interested to participate in the staking process and that's not a big surprise to see that even tezos was entering top 10 CMC. i thought that more and more people will be coming soon to move their portfolios to staking directly to the exchange site. The price will increase even more caused by that but the pressure that will be given by the staking will be enough to create another dump after a pump caused by the buyers. when they are starting to dump their staking tokens and the price will go back again. You must remember about energi and tezos is getting a very similar case with energi.

Actually it was a big surprise, I mean what can this project offer in the future? This is simply pump and dump and I'm sure that when everything settles down, we might see Tezos fall out of the top 10 spot. And then another project will offer staking, went to the top 10 like Tezos did and suddenly fall again. If they wanted to retain their spot then they have better show us what the technology behind Tezos or any improvements in the future.

If this will continue and people will look forward investing to the Tezos staking, this will make this coin even more popular and continue to rank up.

The things I like about tezos is that it's proof of stake, or close enough to it, and that you can 'cold stake' it by holding your coins in a ledger wallet. The downside (for me) is that you need 10,000 tezos to be able to stake, and that's way out of reach for a poor investor like myself. I don't know why they set the number that high, because you can stake other coins with much less than that. Most masternodes require about that many, but not pos coins just to stake them.
Tezos has quite a bit of competition in the marketplace, and I think its devs want it to be the next Eth which I don't seriously believe is ever going to happen. The big problem for the project is that there's just *too* much competition out there and only so much money being invested into the crypto market.
Maybe if the price falls low enough I can acquire enough xtz to stake it. We'll see.

Tezos is so boring. in 2018 there were like 20 different "big names" that started their own crypto
it was ALL because they wanted to get rich following ETH and trying to solve ETHS problems
they have all fallen flat as shit, tezos is worth less than 2$, omg lol, and why is it so worthless?
