This is of course good news for cryptocurrency investors, but I was a little alarmed by the fact that there is talk about the openness of Bitcoin. Isn't bitcoin anonymous?

Thailand legalized 7 crypto-currencies and approved the requirements for crypto companies.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Thailand has introduced a legal framework for crypto and ICO, which provides a list of seven crypto-currencies, as well as information on fees and licensing requirements. This is reported by Bangkok Post.

"The SEC has resolved the turnover of seven crypto-currencies used in ICO, which will be traded in pairs.

                     ether (ETH / USD),
                     Bitcoin Cash (Bitcoin. Cash),
                     Ethereum Classic (ETC / USD),
                     lightcoin (LTC / USD)
                     Ripple (XRP / USD)
                     Stellar »,
- writes the publication, explaining that the approved coins do not conceal transactions, while the anonymity of other crypto-currencies is a serious problem for many governments.

All market players participating in transactions with digital assets must register before August 14, 2018 and then receive approval from the Ministry of Finance. This applies to crypto-exchanges, brokers and dealers, as well as issuers of ICO.

Now this is what I am afraid will happen at the cost of legalization. I am already fine with KYC by private bitcoin exchanges and wallets but national registration to the Ministry of Finance? Now they are building a database of their citizens who are engaging in cryptocurrencies. Possibly outlawing anybody that is not registered and might be called to see if that unregistered person is committing some sort of criminal activity. Not registering to that national database would be fatal to ones ambition to stay anonymous to a currency designed to be "anonymous".

If it's true that the counrey of thailand legalize cryptocurrency it is good to us because the price will increase. Because citizens in thailand will invest and they help the price to increase again like today because of the dumping price they have littel affect on the price.

Great news, finally regulators are gaining courage and are starting to introduce rules for crypto-currencies. Ice is quietly moving. I hope this example will be followed by other countries besides Thailand, Japan and even those not many that already somehow reacted to new techologies!

I heard that they are going to legalize them only for the development of various ICO, while they keep everything under strict control. Therefore, this is a very good indicator, due to which there will be less scammers and more attracted investments.

I think this is excellent news for Thailand crypto community and it'll also make a positive impact on cryptocurrencies. At least they start a process so in future they can start adding more cryptocurrencies to the legal framework.

While it would have been so much better if you cited the source (how do we know this is true or if you're just blowing air out of your ass?), i am happy that you posted this kind of information on these forums. If ever true, this would be phenomenal news not just for Thailand, but for cryptocurrencies in general.

Adoption is slowly growing, soon we will see the true value of crypto. Get ready for the moon!

Here is a link to the news article (albeit it comes from the untrusted-SCAM-of-the-century-trash-coin-BitcoinCash website): https://news.bitcoin.com/thailand-crypto-regulations-legalizing-cryptocurrencies/

It's really great that more governments are supporting the legalization and adoption of crypto. I'm impressed at how forward thinking Thailand is. I might just take a trip to Bangkok for the, you know, "crypto" scene.

First Germany, now Thailand brilliant. This of course isn't as good as Germany recognizing Bitcoin as legal tender, but it definitely is a start.

I am happy to note of this good news coming from no less than Thailand of all countries in Southeast Asia. Congratulations to the government of Thailand for recognizing a spectacular financial trend that can shape the economy they have into the digital future. This is just the start for then because I am sure that they can now easily attract many fintech companies to come to Thailand and invest their money by having their base of operation in the country. Thailand is known to have a good economic climate despite some disruptive political  jamborees they got in the past. When they can have the ICO regulatory framework in place this can attract players to relocate to Thailand for the opportunity to apply for a license. Soon we will be seeing many regulated ICO projects emanating from this country.

Stellar and ripple are not even cryptocurrencies, and bitcoin cash is ..., well we all know what it is. It is good to see acceptance though, good for thai people. We need more countries recognizing crypto and allowing it to mature and advance

Looks very healthy for the market especially for alts. Lets see how many people would register to the finance ministry. If these goes well, the market would probably rise up to the occasion again.
Neverthless, its better for the OP to put the news article/link, so we could follow the news regarding this topic.

Yes its true mate. No ico for bitcoin and litecoin. Ico is conducting after etherium exist in the market. Mostly with etherium smart contract ico and also some from different blockchain. This is not big problem about miss type but good news if there is country like Thailand that can appear.

Thailand is one of the best place to use cryptocurrency in asia now and I hope for more countries to fully legalized cryptocurrency. A great move of Thailand to adopt the current trend, they will surely be one of best place for cryptocurrency in the future.

This is good news for the cryptographic market, there will be more people coming to the market and they will be waited up, the altcoin price will rise again, maybe in 4 weeks time, the market will explode .
Yeah, people will continue to invest because they will love to experience this good market.

that's a good news, a regularization is needed in the crypto world, and i think it's better to regulate than ban. if we put away all the controvensies about the crypto players, for a future adoption is needed that all the money circulating in this option is needed. i hope that in the future we will fight all other controversial things like insider trading and scam icos.
