I always think that bitconnect scam was the biggest in crypto space until i heard about one coin, a Ponzi scheme that defraud investors approximately $4 billion around the globe and one coin ceo have been missing since 2017, we really need to be very careful where w invest our hard earned cash, when a offer is too good to be true there is always more that met the eye

I remember people calling one coin the bitcoin killer, lol 😆 oh i hate centralized coins, the fact is there was no coin mined, no blockchain, nothing, I have never seen anything like it, any coin that claims to kill bitcoin is red flag lol,
You can add that list with XRP,USDT and any other centralized coins which holds high marketcap is having chance of turning into scam.

People don't realize how much risky is to have all the authority of their holdings to single person who own that coins and they also trusting the promises given by the person.

fraud in the crypto room is a major problem and it must be realized from the beginning, investors should no longer easily trust existing promises, because a promise does not guarantee they will be safe there after spending their money to invest

I totally agree with this. They say this is actually just a sweetener to attract people so that their community is large. Though the purpose behind these words is to enrich the developer himself.
One more thing, for me developers who don't listen to what investors want are also scams. Because they don't appreciate where their money comes from the beginning.

By now every crypto investors should know that no coin is 100% safe either old or new, people like you are the backbone of these coins, even if they have good mind today they can go dark tomorrow
Indeed, no one is safe every decision we take will always have risks but what we have to do here is how we anticipate them or how we minimize those risks. Both new and old coins certainly have risks but for me personally I would prefer to invest in old coins rather than into new coins because in my opinion investing in new coins actually has a greater risk even though you could say the price is lower but the possibility of getting greater failure .

Bitconnect is the most famous scam and OneCoin is no different either, who doesn't know them one of these days? They're famous enough even for newbies, I think.

A Multi Billion Dollar Scam which was a no joke when it comes to that much money. Sadly there's no saying that it will not happen again in the future.

No one knows when or where the scam will take place. Ponzy scheme or a crypto pyramid scheme is inevitable once you're caught up in them without knowing it.
Unless you have the knowledge to sort which is right or wrong. And the so called beginners somehow always fall victims to these kinda things.

I feel relieve that bitconnect got busted for their scam. I also feel bad for those who loss their fund on the hype of this project. I myself got in, but luckily I escape it and gains some from it. It was just a bit of luck that I was able to earned from it and suddenly it went sour. I hope new projects would try to so such thing as biggest scam like this.

one coin ceo have been missing since 2017

The CEO has been arrested and charged this year

Konstantin Ignatov, the CEO of the multi-billion-dollar “crypto” Ponzi scheme OneCoin, has pleaded not guilty to wire fraud. According to court documents, Ignatov entered the plea during a May 28 preliminary hearing via conference call.

That is crypto, anytime a project that looks good can be destroyed for various reasons.
For that I personally if investing in one of altcoin must have goals to be achieved, if you get what you want, don't be greedy and expect to get more.

ICO's if being compound are the big fraud from this industry. There's a lots of scam developers who continuously creates one project over another.
Letting investors to keep falling into this trapped and it's repeatedly done, crypto fraud mostly being facilitated by the same teams ho's hiding
behind new projects.

Especially if we will get the summation of all the scam ICO's fund received from investors from the past 2018 up to now, I think it would reach hundreds of millions of dollars which is a serious big amount of money in which for me, if it was invested in bitcoin, then we could have better market now. I do really blame these people why we have hindrances to attract market adoption to people because in the first place they are already trying to destroy the reputation of cryptocurrency and making other new promising and legit projects looks fishy if they really aren't.

In my opinion there are many types of scams in the cryptocurrency market and maybe what is often known is in ICO. Scam mode that often occurs and sometimes is not realized is the developer team hands off after the token listing in the market. They are listing in a small exchanger so that they pay a small listing fee but get money from the sale of tokens of more than millions of dollars.

This issue has been around for years. I think bitconnect closed on the year 2018 and why does it still on the topic today? I mean, we have to move on eventhough this project scammed a lot of people. In fact almost all altcoins in 2018 are scams which is killing cryptocurrency nowadays.

For that I feel more secure to invest in dibitcoin only, especially with a long period of time. Because we know that no one is able to stop bitcoin. It's different if we invest in altcoin where someone can make the coins to ashes. If I were going to invest in altcoin, surely those were the best coins and would not hold them for a long time. I have also been trapped in a ponzi scheme for that I always ensure security for my investment.

Bitcoin will always be the most important investment choice for investors in the cryptocurrency market. But in my opinion some altcoins also have good prospects because some altcoins show the development of products that can be a trigger for adoption.

Bitconnect is a very well-known case, In 2019 we have another huge scam project, Plustoken, its negative impact is still affecting the market at the present time. Another similar project, Cloud Token, has just been investigated by Chinese police.
throughout the history of the development of altcoin many cases of altcoin that failed and did a very large fraud indeed one of them is bitconnect but there are still many more altcoins who do like that, mining tokens and so forth.

There's also the hex scam now that guarantees profit for their investors. I think it's able to make a lot of money from those blind followers. They all think that the owner of it is telling the truth which promised those returns and sign of passive income.

It's plustoken that's also one of the biggest fraud ever which has embezzled billions of dollars too.

passive income is usually one of the common grounds of most scammers. if you do believe that you will get your income throughout your lifetime from their business model, not only think twice but many times. because theres no such project that can give you passive on your lifetime. and most of them are running ponzi scheme, so if you are behind the trail, you wont even get your initial investments.
i guess by now crypto users have had their share of losses from these failed projects so we are more smart now in approaching these blockchain projects....
There are legitimate projects that also offers the same passive income but looking how they earn those returns they give, it's actually coming from their source which is a legitimate business. Unlike projects like this, they are just creating promises without anything to show to the public what is that legitimate business that can generate profits to share for their investors.

But today, we can figure them out if they are a ponzi, a hyip or legit project that promises decent profit for their investors.

Luckily i never get tempted by bitconnect at that time, maybe it's because i was too focused on bitcoin only, i checked bitconnect out several times but i was not certified because i was once a HYIP investors and bitconnect interface looks like a one of a HYIP project i knew
Actually this one is also active in social media  backthen , you can see many people advertising this program before. Since they promise is the price will always increase many people believing it  ,actually its really happen the price is always increase. but the problem is after they confirm that this investment is fraud the price dump too much in just a day.
And its too late for investors to sell the coins they invested.

Onecoin is more mainstream than bitconnect, it seems. But certainly in terms of the reputation that scams have gotten, bitconnect is one of the main ones still to this day.

The reason why these ponzis are so effective in scamming people is because people get sucked into the illusion, and have incentive to tell other people lies in order to gain referral earnings on their part. This is what made the schemes spread like wildfire.

Youtubers like Trevon James played big roles in perpetuating lies.

Now we have a cue, when a dev of any project calls his project the next Bitcoin or Bitcoin killer, we can conclude that it's another huge scam site coming, great projects are not into the hype, they have a solid foundation on their project and their platform has real usage for the community, it's easy to support, projects like this.

If you have been in the forum in 2017, you will see a lot of members calling Bitconnect months prior to their exit. But many individuals still defend them and didn't believed those scam investigators and proof of their scams. Just sad to hear those victims though after the exit scam.

And then we have PlusToken exit scam, around $3 billion. So it looks like every year, there will be something big being born, but it the end they will simply exit scam in the billions of dollars. PlusToken Effect: Alleged Asian Exit Scam to Blame for Market Decline?
