Why the recent hike in the price of bitcoin?

This is a wrong thread mate to ask this question! Haven't you noticed that before you decided to post?

There's a couple stores near me. A natural lotion and creams place. An outdoor sportswear camping gear type place. There's a gold dealer that told me accepted btc a while ago not sure if he's still, he sounded kind of wary when I talked to him. He was using bitpay and I'm not so sure he was happy with it but didn't trust his staff to do the tx themselves. Haven't talked to him in a while.
I bought brunch when btc was like 80$ at a cafe now closed. It was the only thing I actually wanted available here. I'm not spending my btc on anything now no matter what though. I don't have enough btc or $ so I'm hodling

i pay my pizza guy in bitcoin. he knew what bitcoin was and i promised to sent him 5 USD if he would install the app on his phone. he did and now i pay him in BTC  Cheesy

That is an awesome example of how we can share and advertise bitcoin to companies. After you did this will he continue to sell his pizzas with bitcoin as a payment option?

I don't plan on using it for anything mundane that could be bought with fiat. Just like a lot of other people out there, I felt like im using something too valuable for it. In the future when you can get paid in BTC and there is BTC everywhere and the price is higher, then I will use it. Right now is like spending 10.000 on groceries.

I have lived on bitcoin and other crypto currencies for nearly 3 years now

The most simple way to explain bitcoin to someone is to have them use it themselves and let them gain a real sense of the benefits that bitcoin offers in lieu of the traditional banking system

I always say that bitcoin is best used as part of a cocktail of other value transmission and value storage methods

The difficult part is to ask them to give you their bitcoin address so that you can send them some coins.

No I haven't used it as a payment method (only to pay for dollars). I have explained it to some people, and it has not been that hard really, people already have the concept of electronic money.

There is no stores in my country and I have 2-3 friends involved in Bitcoin too.

How hard it is to explain to someone what's bitcoin? Well, the hardest part is not about providing the explanation. It is about convincing them on why we need bitcoin in the first place. Most of them will tell you that since your fiat will get you virtually everything, why do you need to convert to bitcoin in order to purchase the same item. Then you will have to find a way to turn things around and then letting them know that fiat value is shrinking as days go by.

Yes, we have loads of people accepting Bitcoin and we have access to Bitcoin ATM's and vending machines. My local pub also accept Bitcoin and that is the most important merchant.  Wink

All my friends and family have Bitcoin and they use it daily, so it's quite widespread around here. I also have friends who receive part of their salary in Bitcoin directly and that is a big plus.

I think it's easier in the 1st world, because the infrastructure is in place to offer these services to enable Bitcoin use.  Grin
