Yes! They will all eventually adopt Btc. Besides I find more importance in New Zealand's tax authority to approve crypto as compensation for salaries and wage-earnings, then Burger King.
We are nearly coming into the realization where crypto being use as a currency. Good thing it started with some food chain accept this and not a question nor to wonder that many establishments will follow by then.
What we are looking now is the support from the government as well as from the community. With the increase number of users will help to fully developed cryptocurrency in a matter that is not just an investment but a currency as well.

There is a lot of Fast Food store that accepts Bitcoins in our Country too but does not mean it will create a storm as you think. It has been like that since 4 years ago but it didn't create hype to my fellow countrymen, there are also a lot of services that you can use your bitcoin to pay to.

But at the end of the Day only who are familiar with bitcoins who is benefiting these things the rest of the people are not aware of it. The only way to create a storm again is another successful BullRun this year or another good news from the trusted media that says Bitcoin will be successful in the next 10 Years.

And so far it's only for online orders where confirmation time doesn't matter that much. It's still a long way before you can use BTC directly on the counter. Nobody want's to wait several minutes before the transaction is confirmed.

Burger King give you the chance to pay your food with BTC within their app. What do you think? It's getting more viral with every day. Is mass adoption on its way?

I hope so but still, and it's difficult to find a local store that could accept payment with cryptocurrency in one country especially if the country doesn't accept cryptocurrency or giving a statement related to cryptocurrency. But I think that will be interesting if the local store is trying to using cryptocurrency and that will be a time for the adoption for the public. Maybe soon we will see cryptocurrency will be accepted in any countries so you can try to use crypto to pay.

this is on a tiny scale so your "storm" looks more like a small wave in the vast ocean.
the only thing positive about this news and all the others like it, is that they are showing how bitcoin's adoption in the real world as a currency is still ongoing. despite the fact that people sometimes think bitcoin is an investment to make them rich we still see the real world adoption of it for payments,... and they are decently popular.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this a terrible idea for Burger King.

I've not used Bitcoin in a long time, switched to alternatives that worked better as a form of payment as I believed Bitcoin moved firmly over into 'store of value' as opposed to daily use spender.

The last I checked though Bitcoin fees were rather high for smaller amounts and took a significant amount of time for confirmations.

I'm not bitching on Bitcoin here just genuinely wondering if it's the best crypto for this case, so many companies used to accept Bitcoin and then dropped support as time went on and it got more expensive to use and had longer confirmation times, companies weren't prepared for that so dropped it as it worked well at the start but didn't scale very well.

The title was interesting that's why I clicked it and I didn't expect this actually... Are you pertaining the storm to adoption? Cause I thought 'storm' was something negative.

But regardless of it, it's actually a good step for bitcoin but ain't that big to be that excited that it'll make a mass adoption. I think it's just a small step to bitcoin recognition by companies but other people probably wouldn't notice the bitcoin option as a payment at burger king. But if they would, more possible that they would still choose to pay with fiat.

Note: Don't get too excited just yet. This is only for Germany(currently, at least). https://cointelegraph.com/news/burger-king-lets-you-pay-your-way-in-germany-with-bitcoin

Anyway, while there are a few big companies in the past like Steam that removed their bitcoin payments option, if you're actually watching bitcoin related news for a while, it's easy to notice that adoption is in a steady uptrend(with a few dips here and there and a few drops due to price volatility).

I got excited all of a sudden and then I read this.
Sad.

Well I guess it is just another baby step for bitcoin.
A good one for me since that is one of my favorite burger in the world. The smoky taste cannot be replicate by some of the fast food chains there.
They are unique.

I confess I did not understand what you meant by this: " The Calm Before The Storm  "
I don't understand it either.

As BK of Germany accepts bitcoin but they'll receive fiat, I think this is still a good news after all. At least they have considered using BitPay's service so that they can cater and give bitcoin users in their area to spend few of their btc for ordering.

Is mass adoption on its way?
It is on its way but don't be overjoyed just because of this news. It will be a gradual process.

what storm are you talking about? In recent months the price has increased a lot and has good news for the coming months. so I don't see what storm you are talking about, and about this:

Burger King give you the chance to pay your food with BTC within their app. What do you think? It's getting more viral with every day. Is mass adoption on its way?

Mass adoption comes with input of things like these:

Bakkt Clients Can Start Warehouse Deposits on Sept. 6

VanEck, SolidX to Offer Limited Bitcoin ETF for Institutions Via Exemption

Winklevoss’ Gemini Introduces Sub-Accounts Feature for Institutions

Burger King in Germany gets the fiat equivalent of the BTC you pay through Bitpay. It would have been an accounting nightmare to include bitcoins in the journal as another form of currency since, you already know, the value fluctuates wildly.
Also, if you have ledger or trezor, where you store your spending coins for everyday use, Bitpay is a pain in the neck to pay with...
Last time I have tried to pay a Bitpay invoice, I just went mad, nearly...
First, I've tried to pay with my ledger nano S, but it haven't recognized the payment URL, so failed.
I've started to read and found that there's no need to try with ledger directly in the browser, and also you can't use segwit address to pay from.
So to cut the long story short, I had to move some sats to the trezor, open a mycelium app on an ancient android phone (that was the only one nearby) and open the trezor via the mycelium app, and finally scan the Bitpay invoice QR code in the app to be able to pay...
it's much easier if you have a hot wallet on your mobile, but it's not safe to store much value in it...
So if something is safe, it's not easy to use, and if something is easy to use, it's possibly not the safest thing to use...
I just long for LN to handle these kind of small purchases in the foreseeable future...

Anyway it’s not only Burger King accepts bitcoin.

But yeah I believe that the food chain will not hold any of their bitcoin payments under their cash register instead they will surely convert it once receive because business earns from day to day basis and not for investing, and maybe they were just ride the hype of 2017 to decide accepting crypto

And as what DdmrDdmr stated it’s BitPay stands as middleman for Burgerking to receive fiats whenever the costumer pays crypto.

Agreed, it's on this way. But I haven't used crypto as a payment yet..
Unless you are from Germany?so you can pay Burger King using cryptocurrency

Yes maybe this will be the time to calm down but I believe there's a big break in the future to become a storm. A storm that will give hope to all bitcoiners that we all benefits to the promising price of bitcoin in the future. Its really hard to wait but theres a bih hope in trading.

This is cool, it is excellent news when application adds an option to do so, because it is much more convenient to pay on device than physcially.
This means bigger impact and overall positive effect to crypto currencies.

Not until I see the companies accept Bitcoin directly and not to another third party payment processor I don't see mass adoption happening simply because of an added step involved. Our Bitcoin wallet is created to directly pay to the other end and it's not created for us to send our money to another third party for them to handle the payment for us. This makes the process much more complicated for others and they might find it unappealing to use when they already have a much more convenient way to pay for this products.

I remember the same phrase being used much during the time of previous halving. To the same the market gave a good growth to the entire users after halving. Further the same got much used last year, and to the same the market didn't reacted instantly. It took months and the growth began from April this year. Now this time how the growth is gonna happen is unpredictable, let's wait and experience the reality.
