I already know about the founder of Twitter, if I'm not mistaken Jack Dorsey does only have bitcoin and doesn't hold any other altcoins, I see that adoption is huge for crypto currencies, the founder of Twitter, Facebook which will launch its own crypto currency, maybe later Google, we see when social media twitter and facebook are crowded you might see Google launching Google+ but unfortunately it is closed, if later bitcoin and crypto currency continue to be adopted by the founders of social media of course Google will follow suit

That would be great, yeah, he's not in favor with altcoins as he have seen a lot of spams lurking around twitted so he banned crypto related spams before and now he has been very interested, maybe he also wanted to have his own altcoins, let's see what the meeting is for, for sure they will share it very soon. He might be interested in having its own coin as he have seen despite the bear market there are still a lot of tokens coming around.

Add in Nigeria in the subject title, he (jack) did so on his twitter post, you should too (lol) as this goes to show the level of awareness bitcoin is having in the country. Few weeks ago I reported, Nigeria Naira becomes first Fiat currencies to be listed on Binance it got presume to mean nothing but this guys see something in NIGERIA many are yet to recognize. Very soon Nigeria will become a power nation in the cryptocurrency industry just as china and the rest are. We're already leading in the continent so with a little more Investment and attention plus the already existing enthusiast, we're bond for greatness.

His visit won't be much of a surprise as many recent stats have proven bitcoin is becoming a interesting search words in the country (meaning more individual are picking interest), just hoping the meetups will result in a collaboration to educating the citizens of the nation and Africa as large since he already has the platform because many enthusiast are getting mislead as MLM, Ponzi scheme projects etc are using the success of the currency to defraud many victims.

We know that the CEO of Twitter, Jack is already positive towards bitcoin so it's nothing so new but actually it's great that he never stopped supporting bitcoin and now even went to another country just to have bitcoin meet up. With this news, obviously he didn't just go to Nigeria without any purpose, I bet he's into something. He might also adopt blockchain or even with bitcoin on twitter. This will make it easier to promote bitcoin on twitter since the owner himself is into bitcoin, unlike facebook where there are a lot of toxic people.

Twitter's Co-Founder and CEO paid a courtesy visit to Nigeria as part of his listening and learning tour. He recently met with tech leaders in Nigeria and just today, he had a Bitcoin Meetup with some of the biggest Bitcoin and Blockchain Enthusiasts.

Recall that Twitter banned Crypto ads in 2018. Adoption is imminent? Let me hear your opinions!

@nelson4lov it’s an open secret that’s he’s a pro bitcoin enthusiast, and this meeting will only help bitcoins name to spread to the masses. I also feel it’s a veiled attack on Facebook Libra, as Twitter and Facebook CEO do not se eye to eye. Those ads which were banned were ICOs ads, and Bitcoin was never banned and it cannot be banned kindly study this so you don’t get confused again.

it is very important not to confuse things with each other and in bitcoin world people commonly do that! like confusing blockchain technology with bitcoin, what happens to altcoins with bitcoin,...
At least, half of the people mix both these words into one. For them, blockchain means bitcoin and cryptocurrency. In my local, govt have taken some steps to utilize blockchain technology but some people around here is thinking of bitcoin to be legal here.

in this case this news and those other similar platforms like facebook,... is being misinterpreted. they never had anything against "bitcoin" and never banned anything that involved "bitcoin". what they banned was all the ICO scams that were mainly happening during 2017 using these platforms to fool people that are not in bitcoin community and were unaware of the scam methods. and that needed to be stopped.
Was the ban for only ICO or over all the things related cryptocurrency including bitcoin. If I am correct the ban was for all the cryptocurrencies and related things.

in my opinion twitter will also adopt blockchain, of course he doesn't want to be left behind by other companies, as we know it Facebook plans to launch Libra, Telegram also plans to issue tokens, I think Twitter also doesn't want to waste an opportunity, hopefully that will be good news for bitcoin.
Twitter is different since they only want to support bitcoin or blockchain and still no plan to making thier own, if they do what will be the use of it?
Facebook trying to make thier own crypto currency libra but still under discussion if they can really make it since they plan to make it centralised.
Telegram is also different since they make an ICO which is one of the successful ICO and they raised $1B  but there are problem need to be solved before they can fully released it.

Despite the fact that he banned Bitcoin or crypto related before but still the price of Bitcoin continuously increasing as well as the demand. Still, he have seen the advantage of having a digital currency, for sure he has been a wise man and he managed to do research what are the advantage and benefit of having Bitcoin, why millions of people are engaged with this despite those restriction from other countries. He must realized it now which is a good thing.

It's a bit weird though, I'm pretty sure Twitter (or was it other social media platforms) banned crypto-ads, during 2017-2018, which was when there was a huge influx of crowdfunding projects, I don't think he's a fan of other crypto-currencies, only BTC.

It's not weird at all. Banning ICO ads (I'm pretty sure that's what the mainstream at that point) is necessary for a business to stay in check with the government.

I am sure he is looking for other possibilities, something to do with his own cryptocurrency like what Facebook did and now struggling to implement it 😀

Nah, he like Bitcoin. He's probably looking for another way to integrate Bitcoin to Twitter, or just simple chit chat to give some little push of confidence to the market.

Good initiative by one of the known bitcoin supporter in the world. He sure is helping bitcoin become more popular and get more mass adopted.

He is first a business man and what does a business man do? He searches for good investment opportunities.
Exactly.

~
As far as a I know bitcoin is legal there ~
It's still unregulated as an investment or an asset for trading but it's still not recognized as a legal tender by their central bank.

The CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, has been consistently vocal about his support for Bitcoin. The techy man must have seen the value of Bitcoin in today's and tomorrow's society. I am not just talking about the price but also the actual value that the technology provides to commerce.

This particular meetup is much appreciated especially because it is done in Africa. More often, technological advancements are focused in continents where development has already made great impact, and Africa is left behind.

The picture looks very exclusive and informal to me, probably in the house of one of the men in attendance. I also notice that there is no projector or even a laptop.

This proves that Bitcoin isn't going irrelevant, but rather gets more adopted everyday. Even tech giants' CEOs still continue to get involved and are positive about Bitcoin's future. I still believe we are still in the early stages of bitcoin and would soon reach the peak of the technology.

I think Libra set the pace for social media platforms to touch the cryptocurrency space. They made quite a buzz when they had announced Libra and possibly got the attention of other companies with their decisions.

Jack Dorsey has been very supportive of bitcoin ever since.

Jack Dorsey spends $10K a week on bitcoin, predicts a 'massive' bitcoin boom

So we shouldn't be surprised that he had this Bitcoin Meetup's. What's unexpected though, is why he chooses Nigeria? Is it because the country is one of the hottest country in Africa as far as bitcoin adoption goes? As far as a I know bitcoin is legal there so it makes sense for Jack to visit every country that fully embrace bitcoin and maybe this kind of effort will push bitcoin into mainstream.

Seeing something like this gives me hope that very soon companies will come to the realization that blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are the future of both the financial ecosystem and the entire universe. I just hope that this meetup will not be a normal linkup which does not bring anything that might influence the adoption of Bitcoin. But personally, I think such meetup has a good potential of influencing the adoption of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies..

Think this is probably one of the biggest CEO's/idols that are actively into crypto-currencies. If I remember correctly, his other company (Square) is also heavily invested into bitcoin, and he's seen pretty good profits from it as well.

He said it before that he holds bitcoin and it's the only crypto that he holds.

Jack Dorsey says the ‘only’ cryptocurrency he owns is bitcoin

And his other company, Square also into bitcoin. Those who bought there are now in profit.

He's really into bitcoin and doing the best that he can, yes adoption is imminent and he's contributing on it.
