I hardly use private cryptocurrencies and the fact that they are removed from large exchanges does not upset me very much since if i want to use them i still have a lot of tools to do it.

In this regard, privacy coins are coins that can not be tracked, unlike bitcoin which have a transparent ledger called blockchain which allows each bitcoin transaction to be tracked using address for example, privacy coins can not be tracked, sending such coins from one address to another can not be traced. Because of this it is said that these coins can be used to launder money and also can be used by terrorists in financing their missions. There are now threats that privacy coins like monero, dash and zcash will be delisted from exchanges as some exchanges have being delisted these coins already too, also that there are possible threats from governments to make sure such cryptocurrencies will no longer be existing.

What is the fate of privacy coins? I am thinking these type of coins will find it difficult and can later all vanish and exist no more.
I sold my Monero a while back for 0xMonero. Unlike Monero, 0xMonero cannot be tracked, blacklisted, banned, or delisted.

The privacy coins will not vanish altogether, they will be forced to trade in decentralized exchanges while the centralized exchanges will be forced to remove them by the authorities and it is not that surprising as we all knew that would happen. The price will be affected once that happens and now i have notification mail from a few exchanges that they already plan to remove the privacy coins.

In the world of cryptocurrencies, what makes a project specific is different ideas that's quite different from the first mover advantage Bitcoin, as long as terrorist can never fade away in the crypto space, then they can make use of mixers and still perform their fraudulent activities, there is no way you can stop the awful acts by delisting these privacy coins from exchange, instead the government will also ban on coin mixers too as well, because using mixer is same way of using privacy coins to avoid been tracked, if I'm not mistaken.

No government have talked about destroying mixers because they find it easy to steal the country's funds and mixed it regularly, in as much as their transactions aren't traced. The thing is, till date the issue of privacy coins had been addressed but that could let it whiped out from the crypto industry.

They may not be wiped out, after all, there are communities that really use them and there is also DEX where it could be traded if ever they will be delisted on exchanges. I still have my Grin on a DEX where I bought a year ago. If it's wiped out I guess I'd lose money. Mixers I remember had been taken down actually, there had been few I believe. I'm suspicious about mixers though.

Honestly, the fate of privacy coins is in the hand of the crypto community not the governments cause they just threaten statement in other to desist from using privacy just like they once did with Bitcoin but if it happens that a lot of exchange site delist privacy coins, it will only be CEX and we can still trade privacy coins through DEX.

I honestly see it going two possible ways:
- The same way Bitcoin went (everyone was skeptical, they started banning and trying their best to destroy it and, in the end gave up and just tried regulating it)

or

- The markets will go underground while privacy coins will undergo a ban

Any way we take it, they'll still be used. And what the regulators don't get is that banning a cryptocurrency makes even more people get into decentralized exchanges and trying their best to avoid authorities. You can't ban freedom without consequences.

Privacy coins has been attack since 2018, this is not the first time that they are going to be delisted by exchanges. Some South Korean exchanges have delisted them because of regulatory framework from their governments.

What is the fate of privacy coins? I am thinking these type of coins will find it difficult and can later all vanish and exist no more.

So as far as the fate of privacy coins? I think investors will be pressed hard, but for me this will continue to exists in the crypto sphere and there could still be exchanges that are going to accept them no matter what. Crypto exchanges are also businesses, so majority of the mindset is to make money. And one way is to still allow this privacy coins on their exchange. It's like offline stores, the rare the product you sell, the premium the price is, and then we still have DEX as other option, so it may thrive on it or any other underground p2p.

My take on this, is before they will be phased out if ever they will, it will take long before such scenario will happen.
There are few jurisdictions that may be strict towards these privacy coins.
However, if the crypto exchange is registered in a country or place where the regulations in crypto are not that strict, they can still enjoy their presence.
There are purposes why a lot of crypto users like the use of privacy coins, and I don't think these coins will be gone very soon.
They existed for so long already, and they may find a way how to go around these government regulations.

The combination of DEX and privacy coins will make them hard to combat. I think regulators are going to have to do their best to get onboard with crypto sooner than later if they want to steer the ship in certain ways.

I don't think they have any future in long term, as bitcoin can have a reasonable good privacy if you use coin join or a mixer service.

Personally,  I prefer to receive mixed coins than monero or zcash or any other privacy coin.

So, if bitcoin can do it, why make an alt?

Privacy coin's still staying amongst crypto-coins is going to fall down to the number of adopters of the privacy coin, I haven't read on Monero but when I check the coinmarketcap its a noticeable name on the list, the government if they can would do more than stopping privacy coin, many government will want Bitcoin stopped and about laundering am in a country where government takes is as a habit, but they launder with Fiat more than crypto-currency, so privacy coin did not start and will not end money laundering.

I think privacy coins won't be adopted or approved by the government.  They will be a currency widely used in the black market though.  Even though a privacy coins is very popular, it won't be accepted for the reason we already know.  The AML which is one of the tools of the government to suppress anything that is unregistered or untrackable to them.

Coins with a high level of privacy suddenly faced great difficulties. The latest regulatory requirements for transparency will force the transition of anonymous coins to new standards. Already Dash, Monero and Zcash are beginning to be excluded from the listing.

Agreed, Just take a look at DASH the team is saying DASH was not a privacy coins. I have been seeing so many times DASH shillers are comparing the DASH coin with MONERO. It seems like these coins are starting to worry about its future being delisted from the US exchange sites that can make them lost all of their prices.
The regulation can't be avoided even bittrex gave no reason for what happens with bittrex itself to delist the privacy coin. If anon coin still needs exchange site and don't expect it can leave from the domination of regulators.
