I'm sure, no more than 50 years paper money will disappear, this is because today many countries are transitioning transactions from cash (paper money) to digital, so slowly paper money will be disappear.
no doubt the life of the paper money is left very short now because it is the digital era and we are living in the age of the computers, bitcoin is the digital currency and it is easy to use than the paper money it is easy to carry and very reliable to use .bitcoin is being popular on every level of the life it is being a source of income and a source of easy payment as well so we can buy thing and can pay the bills with bitcoin so it can easily replace the paper money in a very near of the future.
i think the future of money is still too much secure and there is no threat to the future of money.
There is no threat because it's the government who are running this world, anything they would implement we are obliged to follow and paper money does benefit majority of the people so we are going to use that even the world will slowly evolve from paper to paperless industry.
It's the money after all and we will be using anything that could give us convenient and something that can be controlled by the government.

In couple of tens years paper money will go in past. Who are paying by cash in big cities today? Only tourists maybe. Everybody moved on cards and payment apps already. So the idea of the cashless world is going to be our nearly future. I believe in that.

Time is constantly changing with human problems and needs, people just barter but because people continue to grow then they use paper money and bank, now everything must be practical and bitcoin will replace paper money.

Bitcoin is the currency of the future because is decentralized, fast, and secure.
Well, paper currency will survive but it will be less important in the future.

The future of paper money is good and promising but at my opinion it's much better than digital money on many reasons
I believe the demand of paper money in the future will be lessen because the trend today is already a digital currency
and with digital currency it's more secured to us people so we will be confident to transact online.
People will be educated in the future especially if the government will support crypto currencies as well.
It will be much easier ,but it will take long time since there are few stores still that accepts btc. In my country it jist in transaction center not on buying stuffs.
well, many countries are learning bitcoin and bitcoin will soon be implemented to the world payment system. Your country is the same as mine but I do have a big hope that bitcoin will appear everywhere on the street. Due to a huge demand of the people, bitcoin will be introduced within a few year

Andrew Haldane said one solution would be for the Bank of England to issue a state-backed digital currency based on bitcoin. Supporting this initiative would be a negative interest rate levied on paper currency relative to the digital currency, with these measures do you think there is more possibilities that sometime:

Paper money will be banned entirely?
How long do you think that happens?
would it work?
What security and privacy risks would it raise?
And how would public and privately issued monies interact?

I think the era of the paper money will soon be vanished. And that is the time that the digital currency will start to run the currency business and there will be no paper money anymore but instead a virtual cash which is very easy to use and to bring. You can now bring millions of cash without bringing a lot of cash and without that feeling of they might get ut from you because virtual currency are very secured. But despite from that there will always be a negative effect.

You're right, because now bitcoins have a higher value than paper money that has spread. But I'm not so sure that bitcoin will be famous and as popular as paper money in the near future, because there are still many people who seek and need it.

Nah, I don't see it dissapearing. Sure we got e-currencies, but that's all traceble. People who care about anonimity would want to stash it in somewhere.

Not just the criminals, but also regular people. Isn't it our right to manage and maintain our own money where and how we want?

I don’t see paper money keep being printed as todays, in the future we will use digital money for all things, cryptocurrencies are an example of how the future will became on the next 50-100 years, we do a lot things online already soo its normal we move into digital currencie.

They are being printed by the central banks and it will always be. As long as the state will not declare to stop printing they will keep on operation. I also guess that they are trying to consider now to improve and upgrade with the current phase of technology. Things are being transact now through digital, computer so digital money will be in and paper money will be out.

Maybe there is a way to tie cash to a decentralized stable cryptocurrency

There's no way, it will be against to the ruling of the government. We know that the government is the one to implement centralized things and in terms of paper money, they are responsible of it. And that's why I am sure of that they can't tie cash to decentralized crypto currency as that will be subject to the rule of the state.

yes that is right that it will continue for a long time, may be for centuries, because it is not possible to stop using fiat at once, i think it can only be possible when all the people of the world start using bitcoin and they stop using fiat at once. but i think it is not so easy i think it will take decades.

i think we cannot ignore the importance of paper money in near future. i think it will run  for a long time because majority of people still do not know about bitcoin. and they will continue using fiat paper for a long long time.

I think the users of paper money will not be banned and will still be used. It's just that enthusiasts of paper money in the future will be few. Life in the future will be very instant. As well as in payments. Future banknotes will no longer be used. People prefer to use digital money from paper money because it is easier to use and not heavy to carry the digital money. Digita money will be used more often by companies and stores because the transaction is faster and easier.
