There are several reasons for using VPN and privacy is one of them. There are overwhelming  success in use the tor browser. However, as a technology enthusiast, it interesting to test out  new disruptive and emerging technology as it relates to decentralized VPN.

I think it's better to use and choose a VPN that has a good reputation and indeed when a VPN is really needed it doesn't hurt to use a paid VPN to enjoy the results of a very good connection safe and comfortable.

There has always been a rule that the best VPN is the one made by yourself.
If you delve into the principle of VPN services, then all of them, even paid ones, have logging. And if you need to learn something about the user, many, without hesitation, will reveal all the information. Despite the fact that service advertising is a private and secure VPN service.
You must understand that trusting a VPN, you trust it with all your information.

I had bad experiences with VPN and i will never use VPN again. Actually you are not safe and anonymous when using VPN. They track all your browsing history and your action
That's your own fault, you choose the wrong VPN services, I am very familiar with how secured VPNs are and they are of different types.

We have IPSec, SSL, TLS, etc, their security tunnelling aren't the same and they work differently

Some VPNs do track user (especially the free kind) but there are also some VPN which have a strict no-logging policy. Next time if you decide to use a VPN look for a VPN that doesn't log your data it will definitely help you.

To boldly go where no rabbit has gone before...
PErsonally I'm waiting for them to finalize their "node" concept, so i can run a node and sell my bandwidth.
It's something that has been promised before by some failed ICO's, but got big hopes for orchid,

The future of privacy can be seen in decentralized VPN powered by Orchid Protocol ( OXT) or Tachyon Protocol ( IPX).
What are your thoughts on this?

Never used the VPN powered by Orchid protocol but I have used the Tachyon's VPN on iOS and I gotta say their VPN is quite fast. Been using it for a while now and so far there was no major issue.

Should the collaboration of Orchid with Chainlink to build USD bandwidth-pricing oracles be a game-changer?
Recently, Orchid collaborated with Chainlink on tools that would make Orchid users determine the price of VPN bandwidth.

It should be a game changer as long as that will not so expensive. VPN bandwith can be a very potential business as so many people are using VPN these days. As long as that was offering reasonable price and it will be a very big game changer

Privacy in decentralized VPN and centralized VPN is not much different than you think when there is still someone behind it and they could just sell your data anytime they want. It is just a wordplay without any real innovation or reputation to back up that your data is completely unmarked, uncharted, and totally anonymous.

One thing is that, blockchain has made many things possible thus many developers are seeing it fit to try many things and now we have the decentralized VPN. I don't know much about these projects but if truly they are decentralized then I can say vividly it is a welcome development. The only thing which might look as if people won't be interested is the question of how decentralized these platforms and their working products are, and if the team will actually continue making sure they keep enhancing, thus if they will, there is every tendency they will offer a good and better alternative than already existing.

You have stated well, and to be honest tachyon protocol comes to mind, it is a good and befitting platform that fulfills the role of decentralized vpn as well as the privacy that we all deserve.
That's a good project but it sounds vague whether it's truly decentralized VPN or not. In my opinion if tachyon VPN is working as a common VPN and there were no a lot of differences between the decentralized VPN and centralized VPN.
THat's still a big question to be answered where is the decentralization giving its impact to the VPN product?

I guess the centralized ones could be shutdown, abused by their owners, spied on, not that secure/safe, etc.
Fully functional, safe and efficient decentralized VPN could be built fairly quickly in my opinion. I think their developers probably need to understand what decentralization truely means and things won't be that challenging to make.

Decentralization is obviously the upcoming trend in all businesses and all niches so whether it be vpn or anyother service decentralization makes sure more efficiency, transparency, automation and also makes sure that the cost of the service with high quality features remain low as compared to traditional or centralized services.

Decentralization is an emerging and disruptive technology that we need to embrace. However, it cannot solve all business needs ( problems).  In as much that it is emerging, we can be have open mind about the problems and solutions.

I don't know how decentralized these two VPNs are but I am sure they have long way to go, how decentralized is their servers and nodes. People should not be carried out with all these marketing jargon of decentralization, I still believe Tor will protect your privacy online better than these two

Though the aforementioned protocols above are good and correct but not all individual in this industry can go for the paid version if it warrant from the company. Even at that, there are other means to get your stuff hidden through something like duckduck browser and am enjoying the advantage of using it. As many others have mentioned, TOR browser are also good for this stuff, so, I will recommend the above.

Decentralized VPN? I don't get the concept!

We have TOR to stay anonymous while working on internet so why we need any new technology and how can we figure it out that is completely decentralized?

That is good point. I have been using TOR browser for as long as I can remember. I have no issues with it. Bisq network even requires users to use TOR.

There is however a problem since some countries ban the use of TOR which I guess Orchid and Tachyon Protocol will take this pie for its users. I have no idea how many countries were banning the use of TOR but there are probably many of them.
