He has his luck playing on that slot machine and won so much money. I wonder how much he already spent before hitting the max-win because I do not think he only spent $5 in one spin and hit the jackpot.

It will not matter anymore even if he play thousands of dollars it will not matter because $2.4 million is $2.4 million, it took to years before the jackpot is hit again this only proves that you can be a millionaire playing a luck-based game but don't play thinking that you will be the next one, you will be the next one if you are lucky and luck is something is forced it will happen if you are in the right place at the right time.

$5/spin doesn't seem to match my current financial strength and may be very risky for me. The biggest bet I've ever played on slots was $1/spin where I had enough money to try my luck on the slots. There is no jackpot, but luckily I was able to get a few wins out of it.

Everyone would probably be attracted by such a big multiplier, but not everyone would be as lucky as it seems where defeat is much more likely for us. As I said, $1/spin seems to be safe for me. Maybe if I'm lucky enough, I'll hit the jackpot.

There are no safe bets in gambling. The smaller the bet you make the more spins you can make thus increasing the time spent at the slot machine but at the same time the possible amount of winnings decreases. I also try not to bet more than $1 per spin but I did not get richer from it. This guy is a lucky guy.

I watched some reviews on this Slot and it says it is not a very popular Slot.  Roll Eyes  The theoretical RTP (Return to player is 98.63%) ..but I think the review was done on the mobile/desktop version of this Slot and not for the Slot that are used in the brick&mortar casinos.  Roll Eyes

You can play the demo version here ==> https://casino.guru/golden-charms-slot-play-free ...if you want to get the feel for it. (Asian themed Slot)

This is still a phenomenal win.... and a record that we will not see again soon. This painter will also now have the brag rights to be able to say that he has won the biggest Slot win in Washington's State history.  Grin

Thank you OP for this article, it gives us some hope that the big one is out there.  Roll Eyes

Using $5/spin? Hell, no.
That is too much for me. I'd rather use $0.5/spin or lower as that is the amount I can use to bet.
Even if I have a girlfriend supporting me to bet high, I will still not use $5/spins.
That will cost more than $100 to win big like him and the chance for others is not too big.
I can not imagine how he felt before he won that big money.
Even he could've felt the same as we people. $5 is something big. Finally the winning has made his name added in history. If he had made spins with $0.5 we might not be discussing about his win. Just because he dare to spend he was able to be the largest slot winner. Once again it is proven, whether it is on machine or in an online casino the luckiest will profit.

What do you think? Dare to play $5/spin in a slot with more than 400k max-win? For me, I'd stick to 5,000x max-win Cheesy

Why not if I can afford it? Unfortunately, I can't lol. That was an insane bet, to begin with, but for sure, that was something those jackpot winners can afford even prior to hitting that. It's just that they are now rewarded with the risks they take.

Surely, they won't stop betting and it will fuel their gambling pleasure more.

I'm fine betting up to $1 max per spin. A jackpot is a jackpot and that's what matters. Although of course, we should not expect or even chase it as that experience only happened on selected people regardless of the probability.

I'd be interested to know the probability of hitting the jackpot. It must be so low considering that you only need $5 per spin to have that chance to hit the 473,949.79x multiplier. Is it right to somehow liken it to the probability of hitting the jackpot of a national lottery?

Personally, I am not a fan of playing for the sake of hitting a jackpot which only happens once in a blue moon. Of course I don't mind playing. But I also do not want to play more often because of such possibility and with all seriousness or a fervent hope. I'm afraid the bigger the jackpot is, the deeper the hopes of many players and the bigger their loss.

Generally a gambler can spin 10 times per minute, what means in an hour it corresponds to 600 spins. Following this strategy, it would be needed to spend 3000$ for an one hour gambling session. That amount can be compared to total annual wage received by many employees in third world countries.

What many people receive in one year, a gambler playing this method would spend in one hour!

So, it's an insane amount to wage in a very short time period. Not applicable for real, without any doubts (at least for my standards).

This is in Washington though. The gambler seems not a very wealthy man but still gambles for $5 per spin. Too much for a slot spin. Well just as what they are saying "bet big to win big".

It could be that he is too desperate to win to make a living, being a painter is not a job that will give $3000 any moment but according to the article, he is frequent in the casino. Lucky to have a girlfriend that supports him for being a gambler. They are not a very common couple.

^ $5 per bet will hurt your pocket once you did not hit the multiplier for how many wagers, it needs a huge capital before you probably hit the jackpot if you are very lucky. I believed that there is a very lucky person and I witnessed in my two eyes when my friend gambled on the offline casino, the same story by the OP, that is a very lucky story when you will hit the jackpot because it has surely a big prize.
Sounds interesting how I wish I also win on this kind of game but unfortunately I am not.
Only the luckiest will be able to win such jackpot. Maybe your friend is one among the luckiest list. For Whale gamblers $5 spin won't be a big thing, but for common gamblers who look for mere earning this will be big and in no time could get emptied. From OP it looks like the winner is a self employed painter, which means he makes an average earning and nothing big. On contrary to that already he had won $20k from the same casino which shows he's a regular player. Anyhow for his long/short term risk he had profited through his girlfriend's words.

A $5 spin is a bit big amount for me. That kind of win only comes very rare. So that means you need to have like hundreds or worse thousands of spins before you get to win a huge multiplier.
The amount of money you bet might only be accumulated by the casino to give you that multiplier.
However, there are also these lucky people like the OP who have won millions of dollars, but then again that only comes very rarely lol.
I'd rather try my luck casually than doing it consistently.

This is not his first jackpot win. Earlier he have won $20k win from the same casino, but on a different machine. His luck have come through his wife. There is no data on how many spins have been made before making such a big win. This is called pure luck, because if his wife haven't insisted he might've left the place. This looks like coincidence of luck and fate. If that was me, I could've made a maximum of 10 spins.

Gambling is a game with lot of lucks and tactics. To win a game, we should build our own tactics for a game. It may be a short running luck. But it's consistency will plays a huge role in the gambling. If he worried about his luck, he won't win this much lucky win. This was a pure luck to the person who believe the gambling. This huge win was a common one in a jackpot wins.As he said,it was happened with a different machine. His wife luck also played a major role in this game.

Maybe his girlfriend is the lucky ones? How much share she gets?  Tongue

Well, if I have a lot of spare money to gamble, why not? I would love to try it and I'll set a limit until when to stop if I'm not hitting that multiplier. It's really a rare moment for someone to get through that multiplier and win.

I think that the casino won't allow that to happen that another person would win with just a short period of time from the other win that has happened.

Personally, A big no for me unless I have the same financial capability as those persons who won the jackpot. That $5 per bet is nothing as they can afford to lose it. However, if that's their average or usual bet prior to winning the jackpot, I admire their guts to take the risks.

Like the famous quote, no pain no gain, no guts no glory, high-risk high rewards.

Also eyeing to win a jackpot for an average of $1 per bet. When will my time come? Cheesy

FYI DOA 2 only has 111,111x max-win, and it's so tough.

Well apparently that guy already have won 20,000USD on other slot machine [1] in the past and is a common player in that casino (Tulalip Casino). Hence, 5$ bet is just common for him - a casual gambler so to say. But if you would ask a normal gambler who plays only when they have spare money or when they want to, then such bet would be worth a try but not worth to keep trying to achieve. Knowing the fact that physical slot machines is a pure random with 0.1% chance of winning the jackpot [2], only 0.1% percent of all gamblers as well would dare to try it. He's so lucky, having to had that chance, but others must not see it as 'their own' chance as well.

Hahahaha 5$.

I watch a landbase player in real-casino, and yeah indeed they more often to play with high base bet. The only annoying thing playing in land based casino is the cashout, only like 50x is trigger handpay and required attendance.

Maybe comparing to online slot, landabase have more often hitting.

I wonder who is the lucky one: the player or his girlfriend who suggested which slot he should play? The amount he won is life-changing. I hope he doesn't change his girlfriend though and start dating models now that he has more cash to spend. It's also interesting that it's not the first time he wins significant amounts because a different slot machine netted him a $20.000 profit at a previous date.

I wonder what Washington tax laws are like and how big of a cut goes to the state with such wins?

This is quite simply explained: those who play slots win in slots. For example, my chance to win in slots is zero - I don't play them  Grin
I hope he does not make a mistake and does not continue to gamble, but will try (for a start) to change his life - he won a significant amount and it will be very disappointing if it leaves as easily as it came.

As for this question, I pass. I bet bigger on sports, but there I feel (even if it's self-deception) that I'm in control. Playing slots where you have to make a hundred spins to feel the game with a bet of $5 is too expensive for me.

Slots are financial killing machines for those who cannot control their emotions during the game. $5/ spin is not for me but still possible for gambling whales. So don't be tempted by big jackpots if you can only play 100 spins for $1/spin.  Cheesy

I wouldn't try my luck for 10-50 spins if I had enough money to play $5/spin. It's too risky to do especially for players who only expect pleasure in gambling. Maybe I will be tempted to do so if my crypto wallet is full of valuable items. LOL
