The ribons on the key have another one solution
OK, you can add 00 at the beginning or the end of the 011010, so the ribbons can code:
00_01 1010 = 1A hex = 26 dec
0101 10_00 (the same as above but read
backwards) = 58 hex = 88 dec
or
0110 10_00 = 68 hex = 104 dec
00_01 0110 (the same as above but read
backwards) = 16 hex = 22 dec
(where _00 or 00_ symbolizes where the artificial 00 was added)
The coding of 63 tiles suggested by white rabbit is such that none of the other hexes (58, 68, 16) codes a tile.
The dec numbers don't make much sense either.
So maybe we should be reading long ribbons as 0 and short as 1. Let's try it. We are getting:
00_10 0101 = 25 hex = 37 dec
1010 01_00 (the same as above but read
backwards) = C4 hex = 196 dec
1001 01_00 = B4 hex = 180 dec
00_10 1001 (the same as above but read
backwards) = 2B hex = 43 dec
This time the dec numbers don't make much sense either, but the force is with us with the hex numbers: C4, B4 and 2B are legit, but unfortunately unsignificant ....
