Just a story.

The Coin of the Magi

A real coin in history, 2,100 years old!
35 BC - 5 AD Bronze drachm of Indo Scythinan King Azes II of Bactria
Some of coins may be struck on the day of Christ's Birth!

Who Are The Magi?

The Magi or Three Kings also known as the Three Wise Men are typically depicted in the Nativity scene with Joseph, Mary and newborn Jesus. The term Magi is derived from the Greek "magos" - the same root as "magic". "The Wise Men of the East" described in the Bible were guided by a prophecy and the Star of Bethlehem to find the baby Jesus. Christian tradition names them Caspar or Gaspar, Melechior and Balthazer. They are interpreted today to have been court astrologers from the east who studied said interpreted signs in the sky. The EPIPHANY commemorates their visit. Many biblical scholars believe Caspar (or Gaspar) to have been a representative sent by "The Great King" Azes II of ancient Bactria to the Holy Land to pay homage to the newborn Jesus. His travels were almost certain to have been financed by these very same drachms issued by Azes, who ruled the area which is now modern Afghanistan from 35BC to 5AD - during the time of the birth of Jesus.

Matthew 2:1-12: Visit of the Magi

Mat 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
Mat 2:2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
Mat 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Mat 2:12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

The Coin of the Magi

Azes II (35BC - 5AD), King of Bactria, minted crude drachm coins inspired by ancient Greek designs originating 500 years earlier. Where still visible, the obverse legends of the coins were written in Greek, the reverse is in Indian script, making the coinage among the earliest bilingual coins. The coins were hand by striking hot, metal disks between iron dies. The method resulted in imperfect, but nicely detailed coins considering the crudeness of the method. The king on horseback is inscribed on the one side, and a standing figure of Zeus on the reverse. All of Azes coins were in circulation when Christ lived. It can be assumed that some were struck the day of Christ’s birth.

Magi is a term, used since at least the 4th century BC, for someone with the ability to read the stars, and manipulate the fate that the stars foretold. Matthew describes them as wise men from the east. It is widely accepted that King Azes II sent three kings seeking proof of the birth and to deliver gifts for the King of Kings. The coin they used to buy the gifts would have been the solid silver drachm which was minted 35 B.C. to 5 A.D. and is now known as the "Magi Coin".

Yes i agree!
How do we take care of more exchanges? We have to ask whether people from the Magicoin-community can ask the exchanges in their countries to bring Magicoin on the market.
