Much of the information in the media is wrong but essential and fake news is rampant as fake news fabricated news motivated news rumours and violent videos dominate social media today. Even business groups are purposefully using social media to their advantage. Every day we see news, videos on social media which may or may not be true. But social media users spread it without any scrutiny due to an invisible competition.

It is sad to say that most of the media often publish false and fake news.  They keep promoting fake news with different headlines for the views.  Moreover, they promote various products through advertisements, which look true for some time, but in reality they are not very effective.  And many times there are false news about big people.  Moreover, most of the media, when the party is in power i.e. the political party in power, gives news in favor of them and spreads various lies and propaganda about the opposition party.  But it is not like that in the media of all countries.  Good and bad media.  Not the false propaganda that all news channels do.  News channels keep running false campaigns for views.

We need honest media which we all know doesn't exist today because of the people behind them and they only publish events that have some negative effect on their enemies such as crime rates in the government opposition territories and others. They are even using it to brainwash people and make them believe thousands of lies and also manipulate them to be busy on some unbeneficial things by sugarcoating some activities that have nothing to do with how to improve a person's lifestyle or how to make themselves a role model for his countrymen rather they promote malicious trends and hypes on the internet.

Op you are correct about the media, but one thing you should know about media, they are also a business in another dimension, they welcome everything to increase their customers. Another thing about the media they give more attention to the highest bidder mostly the government and high classic individual who influenced them with their wealth, it doesn't matter weather what they received to pass to the public is Worth to be dispossessed as news but since they have been paid has no option to do so

Naturally allot of deviation has happened within the media system, this has make most media not credit worthy mostly in my nation were media become a tools for lying to the public by the politicians and all sort of defense for wrong doing.

Op just as you have Said the media need restrategize by creating way out of removing all manner of junk to enable their information gain more strength and draw more attention of the public as for me I don't listen to news mostly coming from our national Media as it always turn out junk.

We can easily see how the media is influenced by big business. How can we see it? By the many people who have been de-platformed, and by the numbers of articles and videos being censored.

What could the media do if they were honest, but simply didn't like the opinion of somebody? They could simply set up one or more sections in their systems, where they could place what they considered to be junk news or fake news.

They could even make rating system algorithms that sorted items into a bunch of categories, depending on how fake or junk they thought it was. Nobody would have to be censored or de-platformed.

So, we can see from this that most of the major media companies don't fairly control the material they show.

Cool

You make a really intriguing argument concerning the nature of "news" itself. It is true that what constitutes "news" is always changing, and various individuals have different perspectives about what is noteworthy. When it comes to news, it appears that the distinction between subjectivity and are at odds. On the one hand, we want news that is impartial and factual. On the other hand, we want the news to be compelling and informative. It's a difficult balance to achieve. Additionally, algorithms are employed to select what news is presented to us on social media and other channels. However, algorithms might be prejudiced, reinforcing our pre-existing views and preferences. This may make it tough to develop a system that's honest and consistent.

Very true as meda has been sold old and infact run by big businesses and this is not something new this has been happening from a very long time and BBC is one of the best example of that. There were cases wherein independent media houses who are unbiased are often targetted by government agencies because big business and businessmen are the one who funds the elections and we have seen similar incidents in India on numerous occasions and recently there was a new channel who was unbiased and critical of a particular businessman who was corrupt and major financer for the ruling government and he ended up acquiring that media house anade it his puppet as a result it's most important and senior reporter quit the company.

If we are financially capable and want to use such opportunity in taking our business to the next phase of its operations, then there's nothing bad if we also take advantage of the media to accomplish all we want to see come to pass on our business, all these are part of the big businesses secrets so many of us don't know about how they are doing it, not until we also make a discovery of same before we could understand better.

I agree about the media being influenced by big business--this has been the case since media began. The question is, is there now more influence over media than there was before? I would argue there isn't. Today we have the internet and effectively ten thousand news channels, whereas 30 years ago we had about three. People quickly forget what life was like before the Internet.

When people say, "de-platformed", they usually mean, "moved from a platform with 100 million daily viewers to a platform with only 20 million daily viewers". Same with "censored" media: articles and videos that top the US readership charts are not "censored" regardless of any bellyaching you might hear from people who want to increase their ratings through performant victimhood.

Mainstream media is just a tool that is highly censored and biased based on political and financial benefits.

Social media is censored too but not as much as mainstream media but usually, governments don't like that and which is why they banned Tiktok in some countries for promoting censored content and Twitter/X says there is complete freedom but there is no such thing, if we need one then you need to start it and face the troubles. Yes, you may be right, come to think of it this way, the internet had the very answer to any of your request once you search in for it, also when we take a closer look on those using this same media to make their public announcements, you will discover that they are the big organizations that can afford to pay for such services, if you have your money, you can confidently enters any phase of marketing without any repentance since you know what you're doing.

I think the media has contributed more negatively than they have done positively at least for the recent past. They have allowed politics to penetrate the cruz of their publication, although politicians are the biggest news in the media even more than business and this is the problem, money buying the media space.

There is now a dangerous part to this influence and that is that politicians now see media outlet as business that they should venture into to push their image more. I wonder if a politician owns a media outfit then the editor would dare publish negative news about their director or owner who is a politician. In fact such media outfit that is own by a politician becomes an added opposition political party, they would hardly publish a good news on their opponents even if they have done well.

So it is now a business of witchunt for another politicians. This has taken away the taste of objectivity away from the salt in the media space. News are not really worth it because of the biase in there, more politicians have radio stations and television houses more than business people.

With the media system, I can accept the point of view of influence from businesses, but if it is fair, the media also affects businesses in reverse. Yep, there is influence from the government behind it and also private factors that directly affect the entire government system.

Nowadays, the development of technology makes connecting information easy and we can really access any source of information without really worrying about censorship issues. I also know some businesses that cheat by bribing major media channels to speak well of them, it comes with the consequence that those media can direct many different things in life. The truth can be distorted, changed,... but it cannot be killed and the problem will be exposed. Maybe I am the type of person who is no longer so abusive with the news that is spread through the media any form, don't be too quick to believe or doubt it.

Mainstream media is influenced by big businesses due to financial reasons. Big businesses provide significant advertising revenue to media companies making them reliant on these sources of income. Media organisations may tailor their content to appease advertisers & maintain financial stability. Big businesses may exert influence through partnerships, sponsorships & ownership stakes in media companies which can shape the editorial direction & coverage. This influence can impact the news agenda & overall media narratives.

Thank you for particularly mentioning the mainstream media on this thread. The mainstream media because of its huge financial investment, many people especially individuals cannot afford the mainstream media thereby giving way for the government and top political institutions to control the mainstream media. Mainstream media such as the TV stations, Radio and Newspaper publications are heavily controlled by governments and most information that come from those platforms are filtered and are delivered in a tone or voice that will suite the political spectrum of that moment.

This is unlike the social media where everyone have the opportunity to ear a view about incidents, events or scenarios. In social media, you have little or no influence around public opinions since every person out there can make a comment or two about issues. What government and politicians have also try to do is to buy the influencers in those platforms and use them as their promotional tools, however, people can still revolt them or say in contrary to what ever information they put out to the public.

The saying that who pays the piper dictates the tune, applies to the topic in discussion, because the media owners are business people who wants to make profit, therefore they'll want to dance to the tunes of these big companies who pays them heavily to sustain their major revenue sources. It's ok for these medias to come down hard on small companies and individuals, they'll do there jobs to the fullest, to gain trust of the public. What is left for the subscribers is to be wise and discern information given before deciding whether to ignore or accept what they dish out.

The media is a hyping and a streaming platform in disguise that portrays the potentials of unrealistic.
The media has been a speculating medium which has proferred falseful rumours affecting lives of today.
And yes, most companies and institutions don't posses the qualities of what they stand for and what they insighted to the public. They are termed to create audience attractions to accept what them the companies produces and are not even interested about but interested about it's personal interests in one way or the other.

One thing I believe is that the media is mostly controlled by politics, each of the media favors specific party and in a time where their oppositor is in advantage of winning the media will then spread out rumors in the order of tarnishing the other image. It is very difficult for me to accept just any news release by the media as most of them are false and carrys misleading informations.
The media are ready to go any extent in order to accomplish what they are being paid for, what makes me at times get upset with them is the fact that they are always on the wrong side and always quick to release contrary ideas, where they call it exposing facts about whom they are paid to speak against, they make it look so true to the extent the masses have no other options than to accept it.
Exactly and I am strongly agree with you. The media is controlled by Politics and that is why people cannot just make comments, the freedom of the Media is controlled by the state government. The State Government tells the media what to do. I have seen a lot of arrests by the government law enforcement agencies to those who speak against the government and everything the media presenters do is for the favour of the government. And any Media speaks against the government will automatically be stopped from operation. The license will be withdrawn from them. So everyone sing the praise to the government.

The media is one the key supporter of the government. And anything come from the media is the final. And the people are to obey. But I still believe the last hope of the poor man is revolution.

I mean. It is not a secret big corporated media usually have some ulterior motives because their are backed by companies which may even have nothing to do with the business of information and facing the public, there is a "secret" which is keep in the plain sight of all of us and specially those who do not blindly follow whatever they say on the Television, regardless the corporate media is either pro right or pro left wing.

That is one of the reasons I am pretty much in favor of independent media, small journalist who do not take sponsorships from big companies but rather finance their small network thanks to the direct support of the viewers and small advertisers.

One must wonder how much influence those big corporations may have over the filtering of content which a channel is supposed to broadcast or not. Would a news channel sponsored by a chocolate company easily or eagerly report on the new-found negatives effects of chocolate over people's health? What about news channels which are directly supported and sponsored by big oil companies? Will they be openly talk about the negative consequences on the abuse of fossil fuels instead moving to a more carbon neutral society? I doubt it and that is what one can see sometimes when turning on the Television or watching YouTube channels which talk about politics and economics.

WHAT IS TCN? (Tucker Carlson Network)

Tucker Carlson Network is the new streaming platform that is home to exclusive all-new content from Tucker Carlson. We will regularly be releasing new video content that tells the stories that matter and helps you make sense of the world around you.

Why we founded TCN

News coverage in the West has become a tool of repression and control. Reporters no longer reveal essential information to the public; they work to hide it. Journalists act as censors on behalf of entrenched power. They have contempt for the public. They hate the truth.

Democracy can't function in a society like this. Voters can't know what they're voting for. People do understand they're being manipulated, and they resent it. The population becomes angry and paranoid. Things fall apart.

There's only one solution to a propaganda spiral like the one we're living through, and it's telling the truth about the things that matter — clearly and without fear. That's our job. We plan to do it every day, no matter what.

JOIN THE MOVEMENT

We are the sworn enemies of lying, pomposity, smugness, and groupthink. We believe the corporate media is broken beyond repair, and the only way forward is to build something better. If this sounds like you, too, then join us today. By becoming a member of Team Tucker, you will unlock access to endless hours of exclusive members-only content from Tucker Carlson.

well the government definitely has control over the media and how they are being consumed by their citizens sometimes if you criticize the government on the internet, they can label you as a terrorist already and have your account shut down or banned

Everything in the media is just business no matter what they say about their companies and slogans. Because they are funded by those billionaires who want to shift the minds of the people into buying their products they are also profiting from these media and they are scratching their backs with each other. Thankfully, we have social media right now though they are not 100% accurate, we have some idea of what other countries are suffering unlike before we were totally unaware about it. Hopefully, they won't cut this source for us because it's really hard to rely on media now that we all know what they are really all about.
