I think the merit system is having really unfair things. In order to increase merit I have to bring to the community new things, both legendary and heroic ones who do not know. Then how can a newcomer join Crypto 2 years as I can do it. I still have some contributions for the community but what I know there are junio members and newbie do not know but they can not give me merit.
Another thing worth mentioning here is that, despite my quality posts and a lot of supporters, I'm not sure I got the merit. Is that too subjective?
My conclusion is that the merit system of the forum is too vague and too dependent on others. And this has resulted in a lot of money being spent to buy merit from the black market and that number should not be small. I think it's more changeable and clearer. I also want to be able to rank well for what I contribute

The merit system affects the rank of the account and only.

You do not need to buy on the black market, sooner or later it will become obvious and you will have negative trust, then you will not be able to participate in most bounty companies.

Are they taking in any new merit givers? Maybe at the moment there are not enough merit givers to give out new merit to users.

I totally agree with you on this. This is not doing great for the new entrants. Also it promotes buying of merit which is a shame.

This is why you're not getting any merit, you don't know where to put your posts. This shouldn't be at this board. But I agree. I should be a Hero member as of now, but the merit system is just holding me back in being a hero member. But I think it's just fair for the bounties. More people are now having alts in bounties. So, merit system is the best way to stop them Wink.

Any tips?

i give you a good tip, join multiple young new communities. you get here merit 90% for bitcoin cheerleading and 10% for others neutral points of view
That was what I think this morning when I see a new thread by newbie account.  There are a lot of merit given in that thread.  It's still first page thread when I saw it.  But that just my thought.

I also have the same thoughts. Its obviously too dependent to others within this organization. Badly, some won't waste their time thinking to give you a merit even you really deserves it. It was considered a fundamentals now to hit up your desired rank. No matter how you work hard to get the promotion you want, its still not easy as you can't do anything with it if there's no merit to be given.  Sad

It is unreasonable for me to see so many people who have just completed 10 merits or 100 merits to reach their desired rank. I suspect there is a trade here, a testimony that a few weeks ago in the forum someone asked to buy merit on the forum. I think bitcointalk is a place to share knowledge rather than a place to trade

indeed the merit system is very dependent on others who are willing to give it, but it is not easy to get in although our post is good not necessarily according to others good, which I know this system is actually to prevent people have many accounts
