I think it might be a good idea to more clearly define "the most contributed" as the people on the list have contributed to the forum in very diverse ways and it will be very difficult to compare how much one person contributed verses another.

Also, I miss laszlo on the list.
Along with the scammers, it was epic threads like the 10.000 BTC pizza that made bitcointalk what it is today.

woaaaaw I just know that thread, impressive thing if that happened today.
so you are nominate laszlo on the list? with his legendary thread?

I appreciate the votes but I've never really been a fan of popularity contests as I have stated a couple of times before. I think there are many people who contribute great things to the forum in various and differing ways and with their own levels of expertise, but I think most people here at least contribute something to the community. If it wasn't for the massive userbase comprising of all sorts of people (from good to bad) this forum wouldn't be what it is today. I think theymos and Badbear have had a big part to play in that as well and I definitely think the way they chose to run the forum is for the best and I'm really glad we haven't got a couple of tiny tyrants in charge that will just delete or ban anyone that says something they don't like. Sure, being so lax with certain things regarding moderation can have its drawbacks but so does strictly policing a forum and removing anything that might vaguely offend someone and I think giving people as much freedom as possible to make their own choices and judgement is the best way to go.

i know something like this always hard to be accurate, but at least we can gather here and talk , exchange opinions regarding who most contributed , along with opinions each.

I miss pirateat40 on that list.
I mean, come on, where'd bitcointalk be without its legendary scammers? Tongue
And what about the trolls? Oh yeah, they are on "The List" elsewhere.  Smiley

yeah sir maybe in the most troll thread list elsewhere Smiley

DiamondCardz

Yay.

DiamondCardz

Yay.

In all seriousness this is a hard thing to properly answer though. What do you define as the top contributor to Bitcointalk? The person who moderates the most? The person who deals with scammers the most? The person who posts the most - or a mixture of everything?

i'm wondering about the most contribute in overall.

Oh, lol, I am aware that all I did is manage some campaigns, and may be find some bugs in some sites. Grin
Didn't know you were going to take that seriously.
Satoshi is the guy whose contribution made the most solid change. How about some kind of classification, that listing everything together?
like we are actually putting everyone from the founder, admins to the scambusters and escrows together.

Okay, new updated list.

--snip--

Edit: Wait... My name got added to OP?? LOL Cheesy

Edit2: I'd say remove the bold instead of using default color. DiamondCardz, redsn0w, MICRO and my names are standing out instead. OP can remove mine, didn't intend it to be taken seriously. Wink

i just need more opinion and vouch to get default color into green color ndhc Smiley
yeah i think we are talking about the overall contribution, that's why added you on the list.

My personal opinion about this list:

Satoshi - Yes.
theymos - Yes.
Sirius - Yes.
Kluge - Yes.
OgNasty - Yes.
Vod - Yes.
John (John K.) - Yes.
Tomatocage - Yes.
SaltySpitoon - Yes.
BadBear - Yes.
DiamondCardz - Kinda. I mean, I trust this guy, but really contributed like the rest on this list? I'm not sure about that. Sorry man, don't kill me. Tongue
Blazedout419 - Yes.
devthedev - Yes.
redsn0w - No, as far as I know he only did free escrow and had to close it because he fucked up badly.
MICRO - No. Active? Yes. Really contributing to Bitcointalk? Not really. He's "only" a community manager for JD or PD as far as I know.
Quickseller - Yes.
DannyHamilton - Yes.
Deathandtaxes - Yes.
hilariousandco - Yes.
shorena - Kinda.
ndnhc - No. I have no idea what this user contributed, except managing signature campaigns (which I don't count as contributions).

I would nominate myself, but I don't really contribute either (except doing group buys and my staff duties). I would like to vote for dooglus and grue though.

that was nice opinion! i need more opinion to decide who's deserve in the list. so really i need so many opinion like what mitchell did.
im sorting all staff and mods now, so dont worry i will update the list asap Wink

The most contributed to the forum in what sense? mods contribute by keeping the forum clean. some people contribute by hunting scammers, helping newbies, and even spamming.  Tongue

I think DannyHamilton should be on such a list!
I second DannyHamilton and Deathandtaxes.

i'll add them to the list, would be great if you explain the reason so people here will get to know why. Smiley

I would bet DannyHamilton does more to help out new users than anyone else. I think he does a great job!

Nobody on the existing list has a "reason" either.
Also, are there ever going to be fixed criteria? Or can everyone be added on some slight merit.

Opinions differ from person to person, so it's hard to make a list of great contributors which everybody agrees.
