Yes, I believe it and I have my own share of experience about it because we're not just born yesterday to be shocked about it. I don't exactly know what's the correct explanation about it but I don't think that it has something to do with genes or DNA because our we have our own respective needs and wants, and sometimes people will do everything they can to get these expensive brands in their hands.

My advice for you is let them be, you can give some advice to them but you cannot really control them.
I think the point is different. The one mentioned above and that is - while people are shopping for themselves the expensive brands they are borrowing money side by side - and they have no shame in pressurizing people to do what they want.
I have personally gone through this - wasted so much money on people. And sometimes I don't have anyone to look up to.

No dream is too big and no dreamer is too small

That is right, might be impossible to think that the winnings will be spent in helping the people in need but there are actually some people who is kind enough to give their all even if they are also the one's who need the most.

In most cases like as you've stated, people tend to pay the necessary first to lessen the burden they are carrying and that's actually the right thing to do rather than taking a step in buying expensive things that later on will become a liability and be drown again in the bills after splurging the winnings in unnecessary things.
I think we are gone too greedy for the money - in that money chase we have forgotten so many important things in our life.
Like helping other and thinking about the under prevailed one.
If there is any certain amount we donate it to the people who needs help maybe it will help so many around.

I think I'll agree with that 1st phrase you've said, it's not actually being greedy because of one us here has a responsibility on ourselves and on our family. In my case, I need to secure my family and self first before reaching out to other people and help them. Being hospitable is not always about other people because we can also do that to our own family.

As I said, not all people has the same mindset that you have and we don't have to argue about that. It's just like we don't have the same choice of food and the only difference is we are now talking about people.
Believe it or not I have seen many Greedy people who keeps on shopping expensive brands while calling people to arrange money for them because they need it.
Some people are strange and they want to get money out of people pocket no matter what - and after that they vanish. Is this not greed. I have personally experienced this - this is not a joke. My heart is heavy and stressed.

i have actually answered here before but i will tell you about my friend's victory because he is not in this forum.
my friend won a sports bet of $740,000 and i really applaud my friend because when he won a lot of money in my country he just bought a house and a car. and he built a place of worship for muslims and christians in my city. he also distributes alms to people in need and the remaining money he uses to open a coffee shop business.
from my friend's experience, i feel very proud that even though he is a gambling addict, he still cares about those around him who need help. i think he really bought a very valuable
wow - what a wonderful person he is - he has done so much for the people around - although in muslim culture gambling is prohibited but he has built a mosque with the money - may God accept his alms.
Gambling right on time some people differentiate it or disregarded for their own knowledge and their adoption of life so if someone who is a Muslim use a gambling money and the build a new mosques what is the person he's telling it's religion because from the look of things if your religion condemns it and you practice it to the extent of using it to build a sacred house that means you are supporting it.

Not all does have that kind of mindset nor have the feelings given into others which they do mind off their situation but instead they would really be minding theirselve rather than with those people who are in need.
When you do gamble then of course you are really hoping to win some money and you cant really just give it simply into those people around or someone who is in need. You cant really tell people on what they should
gonna do with their money since we are different in terms or personality whether we are really that caring and sharing type or that selfish type or who doesnt really care on people around and mind your own business.
Even myself would really say that it wasnt really that much part of me on minding others.  Cheesy

The most expensive thing that I've bought with winnings from my sportsbook bet were a car for my girlfriend.

Then I've left gambling, I was at some point between the gambling for fun and the addictment. So, better stop before than after. And I'm glad with my choice.

Reading something like this makes me smile and happy because there are still some people who choose to buy valuable gifts for their family or for the love of their life, that might be a bit expensive but I'm sure it was worth it to buy some valuable gifts for your girlfriend and considering that, I believe you got some good finances.
As for me, been winning some but it doesn't amount that big to buy some expensive ones. In most cases, I can only afford to bring my family to some mid-fancy restaurants and pay some bills in the house if there's something left.
I am not sure - everyone talks about payment and investment and fund and more money and loan.
I have hardly seen anyone - looking around and helping people in need. When I get some extra funds - I help people rather than buying expensive stuff.

While that is an extremely noble gesture to help people in need I must say that I have rarely seen gamblers who after winning big think about people in need.Mostly and also including myself here the gamblers rush to clear mortgage of their home if they have one that needs repayment, then if they don't they move to buy a car,I have seen a lot of gamblers even a couple of friends who have done this and lastly they buy something for themselves or their loved ones like a phone,a watch or something similar. That is why I call yours a noble gesture, you have bypassed all of the above to think about people in need.

Some years ago, I won a decent amount of money from a sports bet. It was the equivalent of $550 in my local currency. I was thrilled. I decided that I was going to spoil myself a little. It coincided with the time Sony announced the price of the new PlayStation 5. The price was the equivalent of $500 in my local currency. I walked into a mall and bought it. I played it a couple of times. One week later, I traveled. I spent 3 months out of town. Sadly, when I returned from my trip, I discovered that my house had been broken into. The PS5 was stolen together with other valuable items. I was upset

What is the most expensive thing you've bought with your winnings from a casino or sports bet that you've never used or used only a few times or even maybe regretted buying?

I like the stories here about gifts for girlfriends, boyfriends, parents, and charity. Seriously, it's nice as we have to live for someone. I once used the amount I won (Journey to the West, ~ $1,000) to buy a huge expensive house for my two cats. They still live there, and I smile every time I look at them.

Wow, that sounds really good to you. It's hard to win big money, but maybe you're lucky enough to have good finances to bet big. Is it some kind of parlay?

So far I haven't been able to completely stop gambling, it's actually not that great for me. But since I don't really like big things, then I don't think it will cause me much financial trouble. There must be a plan to stop, but not as soon as possible.
I sometimes envy those who tie up buying a car or car and even a house from gambling, they are really lucky. but when I try to keep playing gambling, I always fail and often run out of capital, especially when playing slots LOL. right now I'm trying to play with games that I'm good at such as soccer betting, many say gamble with the aim of fun, so that no losses occur.

I think that charity is mainly done by those who have already solved their problems and their loved ones. This is quite logical. First you need to improve your life, then help others. I think if we had high rollers in our acquaintances who really do not need anything and play just for the sake of adrenaline, then we would meet more people who do charity work simply because they have more opportunities for this. And of course, I respect everyone who does charity work at any level - regardless of the amount of money spent, this causes respect.

What is the most expensive thing you've bought with your winnings from a casino or sports bet that you've never used or used only a few times or even maybe regretted buying?

For me, it's a cellphone it has a good spec and is top of the line but unfortunately I only used it for a week as my daughter's phone was broken and she needs a new one for her distance learning I have no choice but to give it to her as I have no more money to buy a new phone for her, but no regret I made her happy and she got good grades she fulfills her promise that she will get good grades if give her my phone.

It's a good thing that a casino money winnings was able to be put into good use. No matter how hard we deny it, a good gadget such as phone is really needed now in everyday lives. Back then, it's only a luxury, but now it's already a necessity since the world is advancing and so are the ways to do things. In addition, the pandemic really forced us to adapt and adjust in the changes. Most especially those people who are working and studying.

The use of electronics is really needed in work from home set up as well in distant learning because the modality is usually online or flexible learning such as mixed of online set up and the traditional one or via learning manuals or modules. It's not totally unfortunate that you were only able to use the phone for a week because your daughter is now using it and specifications are still being utilized.

I guess it's just really innate in parents to sacrifice for the betterment of welfare of their children. I hope you can buy yourself a new phone soon if you'll have another chance to accumulate winning prizes in gambling and extra in your other source of income.

You are not sure of what? That is totally fine because we all have our own priorities and we all have the right to do what we wanted with our winnings, be it expensive things for our loved ones, paying bills, investments, etc. Just like you, you choose to help people with your winnings rather than buying yourself or family something. There is no right or wrong about that.
well - we all have our concerns. and that is okie.
Everyone is giving there concerns so lets respect what others are saying

Some years means > 2 year, right? Plus three months for your trip... You make it seem like this story happened a long time ago, but if I understand correctly, PS5 came out in 2020, so such events should be very fresh in your memory. Maybe you mean some other game console?
As for me, I can’t boast of big winnings, so I didn’t have such stories, although often after purchases I definitely experience disappointment (probably this is common to everyone, since the goal has already been achieved and a new goal is needed).
