Most people here are traders who are asking for other trader's opinion about Bitcoin's price. It's actually a forum made to discuss things about Bitcoin. It is still helpful to discuss the price here so we're all be able to share our thoughts and idea about the prices' changes in a thread. It will be a big help, especially for beginners. Sometimes, sharing our opinion and knowledge would serve as a guide for others.

Ok just two days ago Bitcoin was trading $ 7,988.1 now while I'm posting this, it's $8,434.13
People keep posting and asking why the price keeps dropping when it will eventually recover they are not looking at the situation heading to the next halving with another potential of another all-time high.
I think Bitcoin's price is the most redundant topic here in Bitcointalk.

It is the most redundant, but the most essential on the otherhand, bitcoins price topics is mainly what we need, but to ask the reason why it is dropping might be in a sense that, we need an update regarding the current situation of the bitcoin at the moment. We need know the factors mainly affecting the bitcoin's market value through posting new topics with the same context.

The most redundant topic in this forum is when the market is down and up, just for example. If the market was down then many threads will come that entitled to be "the market is down what do we need to do" something like that and many more threads about this will come.  Another one is when the market is up in which we will encounter a thread mentioning "the market is up again, is this the good start?" if you guys encounter some posts like this, you can ignore those threads if you want because it's your right to do it. That are the topics that are redundant I've seen for a while.

There are new users here who don't have much knowledge when it comes to concurrency, especially Bitcoin, what they know is that Bitcoin will increase in value and that this can make them reach, without doing thorough research they invested their money.

So, we cannot really control everything, what we can do for now is to help new users through educating them what should they do in order to not panic every time the price of bitcoin drops.

There are users here that are focused on the priçe movement of crypto, and there is a certain board for bitcoin price speculation. So, I think it isnnot redundant at all, there are over thousands of users here and we cannot avoid some people having the same thought and creating almost similar topic. Only a few number of people in this forum sees crypto as a technology majority sees crypto as an investment tool.

To some of you the price might be unimportant because it's inevitable but there are many inevitable events that we're trying to predict and spend time talking about. Weather is one good example.

Price is a popular topic because everyone wants to be the one with a perfect call. People even bet money on the price and organize competitions. Predictions are a lot of fun so don't take this fun away from us Wink

I'm sure 99% of investors check prices every few days, even when they say they don't they really want to know. The other 1% don't remember they own bitcoins.

People will keep asking about bitcoin prices. It's believed that here is centred on bitcoin discussion and one can always get attention about a possible direction of the bitcoin. So I expect more of such questions to keep coming. This forum built my confidence on bitcoin when it crashed to $3k+, only wishing I had known this forum earlier.

Generally i dont think bitcoin price discussions/topics are redundant because this could be useful for traders

as certain information can be shared which would influence a trader to buy or sell a crypto.... but when people keep posting when $1, when $100

that itself begs for an answer!

I think there should be one pinned topic about Bitcoin price on this board and people should discuss it daily in there by not opening different topics whenever Bitcoin price changes.
The idea is nice, at least the price of top coins will be monitored and viewed every seconds than someone quoting the last time he or she checked the bitcoin of price. Although bitcoin price is always talked about everyday which is normal at least for us to know the future of all crypto. Bitcoin price has never been stable, rather it fluctuates. Posting about the price of bitcoin in every threads doesn't makes it redundant

I feel like it can't be helped. New users are coming to the forum all the time, many of them also being new in the crypto industry entirely. Then, when something happens, they get all excited about it and post an update, not realizing that there is a special place for that, or that it is happening for a gazillionth time in 2019 alone, or even in the current month.

I agree, that is the most redundant topic here in this forum, the bitcoin's price, but what can you expect? We are here in bitcointalk, it is obvious we will talk about bitcoin especially its value because that is what we are up to. There is even a thread here (speculations)  just for it. If you are sick of it, then report it.

The forum was made for people to talk about Bitcoin, and obviously the price of Bitcoin is a big factor and people will love to talk about it.

This is a bit of a useless thread, and you could have just reported the threads and they might have gotten removed.

There are special thread for speculation and price predictions, but some people still post new ones whenever something minor happens.

At least all of the price chatter is pretty confined in the speculation section.

And yeah, you do make an another redundant topic about bitcoins price  Grin

This is a Bitcoin forum so expect those price speculations would fly around but if you don't like to see repetition of topics then WO thread would already be enough for you.

I think Bitcoin's price is the most redundant topic here in Bitcointalk.

Its not redundant at all! At least we must consider those who are just newly acquainted into cryptocurrency (newbies) who are not yet accustomed to crypto volatility. And of course! they will naturally panic especially if they had just invested money into it!

So I think it would be ideal if we should just try to answer all this kinds of inquiries to the best of our knowledge so that maybe we could alleviate their worries and maybe spare them from panic attacks too. Cheesy

The price of Bitcoin is one of the most important factors of the technology. And it is influenced by so many other factors, so there are various topics of discussions concerning it which can not all be lumped into one thread.

Users need to read more on the details of posting on a particular board. Discussions on price should be on the appropriate section, Bitcoin discussion board covers general topics, but if there is a more specific board it should be used.

so you want people to post about what?

about code development?

about block size?

about decentralization?

about the miners?

about bitcoin SV vs Bitcoin?

about BCH vs Bitcoin?

Is this the type of post you would like created in this section?

I wonder how long it would take to become the section of unending war

People need to release frustration and happiness in some way. Forums are popular for this exact reason! When you had enough of watching the price fall you go to the forum and look for other people just like you to feel supported.

Price discussions will never end because it's relaxing and it's killing time. People were doing it 10 years ago when Bitcoin was worth 1 dollar and they will now.

My guess is the number of people here 'for the tech' is outnumbered by the people here 'for the dollars' somewhere around the ratio of 100-1. The price movements, namely a truly bonkers future price, is what drew most people and kept them here.

Throw in the amount of knobheads who think leverage is a great idea and the slightest move up or down quickly becomes all consuming for many.

I think it is normal for people to question why bitcoins price suddenly dropped and pumped. The only wrong thing they are doing is spamming the forum posting the same thread over and over again while there is already a thread posted for that such kind of talk. Some users here are not even reading news about bitcoin they are just going by the flow so some of them are not aware of why bitcoin drops and pump from time to time.

I know how you feel it is kind of annoying because everytime the price suddenly moves we could see so many new threads regarding about it.
But we should accept it after all we are in a Bitcoin forum so it would always be the center of attention specially for those who are still new.
They would always ask for the reason and explanation about it.
Just think about it you have felt it before too and you also want to know what happen so it is just the same for them .
And if you haven't notice most of the member that always ask it are newbie's and those who always share some information are mostly high rank because they are aware of the situation they want to spread the information to others.

What do you think is the most interesting thing about bitcoin that attracts normal people? It's the volatility, so it's obvious that most of the people are going to be discussing it.
Once its price suddenly increases, most of the people will talk about it, they will start to invest without knowing anything about it. Actually we can consider the trend to its sudden inrease in price but once its price will decrease even a little, those new to bitcoin investment will vanished again. They only came to crypto world because they heard its price is high and they might earn a penny just by investing on it.

You might not think that the current price or future price matters but the thing with the price is that the reason its dropping is usually because of things happening in the world which can lead to some interesting discussion. Currently we have a few countries going through economic crisis and people are thinking that might of caused some of the instability but theres also the Bitcoin halving coming up which always effects the price when it draws near.

The great thing about the price is it brings some interesting discussion but I would agree with the "do you think bitcoin will hit 50k" type posts as those have been posted enough.

I don't agree, firstly this is a Bitcoin orientated forum. That aside, Bitcoin is one of the new phenomena that are highlighting and revealing a lot of the activities that the bankers and the powerful are using to test and manipulate the future of currency payments. Another bellwether is Brexit, that is forcing the puppet masters that control so many countries to reveal their activities. Vaccination and climate change discussions have become redundant, because very few people seem to look at the funding behind these movements, and their purpose, and it isn't to improve health or the environment.

I think Bitcoin's price is the most redundant topic here in Bitcointalk.

it is not redundant at all. certain market movements that are insignificant are redundant and are not worth starting a whole  discussion about. for example a while back when the price actually dropped was the time to discuss about it but not yesterday when it was just staying where it was considering 1-2% changes are insignificant.

Yes, there have been so many topics about this daily. It's like when there's a slight change in bitcoin's price, a new topic will be created. Those people might be just staring at the price movement for every second and not missing anything and reporting or posting every change they have noticed in this forum. Yes, it's a very helpful topic to be discussed but they should just post it on a specific thread (as mentioned in the above reply) to avoid redundancy.

Another redundant topic is definitely this:

One topic that I've noticed to be also redundant is about who Satoshi is. Every time someone would claim to be or found Satoshi, there's always a new thread about it.

I totally had this in mind! The first thing I thought of when I read the title of this thread is probably referring on topics about who the real Satoshi is. People are not getting tired of talking about this topic. It's as if they keep on posting about this, Satoshi will reveal himself lol! Though we understand because it's really mysterious, it's just so tiring to read about this again and again.

Every time the price drops, there's always someone who'll make a thread about it, and what's the reason behind it. We cannot help it since there's a lot of users here. But if you're tired of that topic, you can just ignore or report it. Simple as that.

You don't have to make a new thread about that topic. Just report it if you feel the topic is redundant. That being said, it's hard to obliterate it because spammers will always make a new one. The trading board or wall observer thread is made for this topic, and I guess it's better if they stick on one thread. However, that's simply impossible, unless somebody aggressively reports them and there is a mod who focuses on deleting those topics.

Creating a new thread to complain about the redundancy is not going to help as much as if you report them.
