Well, you could easily see it in various charts. Besides Bitcoin it is Litecoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin. I personally think that Dogecoin and Litecoin will lose their places in to top three altcoins soon. There are new rising stars.

plus = is a historic coin! one of the first and with a great community.

Much funny such wow
I have never perceived dogecoin as really used SOOOO much yet

I think it should be included in the Steam

So it can be used in all games: that would be really neat and nifty

What would u consider, what would u think, is the MOST WIDELY used cryptocurrency, both when it comes to :

the usage all over the world, usage by people from all walks of life, usage by different genders, usage by all kinds of age groups?

Apart from the Bitcoin,  which alty would this be?

Is there even any that is widely used yet?

~CfA~

Dogecoin, because you can send a tx with only 40 Satoshi and it's accepted in all exchange.

Hard to say because there's none. The only altcoin close to being bitcoin is litecoin. But that doesn't even get in your criteria.

Isn't Doge fairly heavily used on Reddit?

Yep: that's why it belongs on the list. Litecoin seems primarily to be used to transfer funds to/from/between exchanges faster than Bitcoin. This use case will prolly increase given the Bitcoin blocksize clog & the "fee market" thingie.

Don't forget DOGE as well, it has very low fees and very fast transaction ions. Ltc, and Doge are both my 'exchange' coin. Pretty much assured they will be on the recipient exchange's orderbooks, and the networks rarely seem to experience congestion.

Ethereum and the Doge.

Just out of curiosity in general. How are u personally using these cryptocurrencies? Are u using Ethereum for anything other than trading? Are u spending the Doge, do u have any benefit of it?

Litecoin and Doge.

whats your basis except from the top 10 sites promoting it? Smiley just asking

They're pretty much the only alts you can buy stuff with directly.  I know some alts have "company stores" but as far as third party adoption goes it's pretty much just those.

Litecoin and Doge - only alts? Only partially my friend. There are other alts u have not discovered yet that u will be amazed about

What are people using these other coins for?  I always chuckle when I think of that.  No one is buying any goods or services with eth or lisk.  Or even doge for that matter.   Am I wrong?  What are folks using Lisk for?

why do people participate in an ICO? because they want to sell with profit.
there is no use case for LSK at the moment.

ETH: TheDAO tried something. But they failed........

https://bitinfocharts.com/
Top 3 by number of transactions:
Bitcoin
Ethereum
Dogecoin

Thank u for this interesting input! But then again that's not real measurement of widespread usage.

I can run script that sends transactions from one account to the other and appear like the network is widely used. But in reality it's just me.

~CfA~

Wouldn't that cost you?

If answer is Yes i am sure no one does it.

so answer on your question is only one  Ethereum.

Before i checked bitinfocharts.com i would expect it is Litcoin.  Sadly bitinfocharts.com dont offer transaction infos of all big cap coins.
