To varify I understand this.

Bitcoinica will now never exceed 1% more than Gox spreads?
I don't think that's possible.

The long term trend is up, that's my story and i'm sticking to it :-D

It won't be able to go up much without short squeezes.

Yeah call me a bear but we still haven't gone up past the September price meaning we could still be on a long term down trend. The bottom is more likely something between $1.50 and parity.

Just buy them if you're long.  Sure margin is nice, but with all the volatility in the market and large amount of holders out there willing to sell rather than risk another drop to 2, I'd be wary.

You need to wait for some liquidations or until you are one.

OK I was looking at a pretty big spread by like 80cents or so but I guess that is because the buy and sell prices on mtgox are way off right now. We just had quite a drop.
Has the changes to your algorithm made it less able to keep the spread sane during dips? Perfect timing.

Well, there's really no depth at the market.

Who could buy at $4.8? Not Bitcoinica. Not anyone.

OK so what does the new pricing algorithm do? Does it just mean that the spread is *less* ridiculous during or just after a spike or a dip so that winners can be winners?

It solves these problems:

- No more insane prices during the spike.
- Highest and lowest are not higher or lower by more than 1% compared to Mt. Gox prices.
- No more negative spreads.

No insane prices. No unreasonable spikes. We delivered our promise!

The spread is still large but acceptable. Glad to see some of you are making huge profits before New Year!
