So guys, two questions!
1. What are your thoughts about the new Star Trek movie?
2. How can I pretend that this thread has remotely anything to do with BTC?

1. Haven't seen it. WANT TO SO BAD.
2. Bitcoin is the future and so is(fingers crossed) something Star Trekish( overall. Not the specific things that have gone wrong), so maybe they cross somehow?

It would be great if movie theaters accepted bitcoins! cant wait for the new Star Trek movie. looks so epic!

Check out Gyft, which is now accepting BTC. I am pretty sure they support Fandango.  Have a nice time at the movies.

I plan on seeing it when it comes out.  Otherwise, Iron Man 3 was pretty good.

I'm looking forward to it!

I believe that towards the end of the movie, there will be a great financial collapse.  As a result, a "League of Minds" shall be created headed up by Spock.  In Spock's infinite wisdom he will recommend a new form of virtual currency that the entire universe will adopt.  This currency will be based on the random entropic binary properties of the universe...

2. You can speculate on BTC value in the time the movie is set, 1 BTC would probably get you a starship.

Imagine this:
It's the year 2644, mankind has colonized several solar systems, the overall population is about 800 billion.
The financal system is still based on an improved Bitcoin, the adress system has way more characters, but all old adresses got transfered to the newer system.
The overall BTC amount is down to 1 million.
Then by pure coincidence, someone creates a new wallet and stumbles on a leftover of 50 BTCs from a miner back in the early days.

That's the back story for 'Star Trek 3 - The Final BitCoin' or, possibly: 'Star Trek 3 - The Genesis Block'.

1. Dunnow, haven't seen it.

2. You could argue how credits in sci-fi are just like BTCs :3
