I've only seen a few scenes from the US Office so can't give much of an opinion on it, but from what I did see the humour was very different. That's good though as the humour in the US appears to be quite different to the UK.

I love how the UK version portrays such a grim, dreary picture. It's so realistic that it scares me. It really explores a different side of comedy, not punchlines or silly things like that, but rather the behaviour of certain characters - how desperate Brent is to be loved, such a try hard.

I love the UK version a Hell of a lot better than the US version... I should give it another go!

I don't mind the US one, but nothing compares to the UK one IMO so you can't even compare the two together. They're also two very different styles of comedy. I'll probably watch the entire series at some point as I've only seen the first two seasons and a few other various episodes, but they obviously went for quantity rather than quality I think. Many episodes without any LOL-worthy moments whereas every episode of the UK one is packed full of lolz.

One of my favourite scenes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdTTx1iNiFw

Swindon lot don't seem to respect you.

I couldn't pick a favourite as I have far too many but that is a brilliant one.

Mr Toad, I can't...

The UK version doesn't have the (younger) Pam Beesly.   Grin

I think Pam and Jim are my fave tv couple, they are so cute together!

That would make an interesting poll, if you could think of other famous couples.  Smiley

They do make a cute couple.

I love the U.S office but I'm from the U.K. I just can't fucking stand Ricky Gervais voice, especially his laugh

Ricky Gervais' laugh is one of the most glorious things I've ever heard!

Jenna Fischer is very cute. I do have a soft spot for her, although Lucy Davis aka Dawn is cute too:

I was expecting the third option to be I prefer a flan lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtWuiHyeG3I

Hahaha, that scene is so typical of Brent's character - the moment he hears that Neil made the cake his face turns. Just pure genius!

Yeah, Neil is his arch enemy. Watch him get demolished here:

Brilliant. Ooh, it's a bit sweet, innit? Too rich.

The look on Brent's face is priceless.

I was thinking about posting a The Office UK Appreciation Thread as I'm a massive fan and there's a few others mentioned it in one of the TV threads.

Ray: You don't see heels like that much nowadays.
Brent: You can still find 'em.

I've tried to watch this show but I really don't like it, not my kind of humor I'm afraid.

Those who have heard of The Office will known that it is a divisive television programme. I have met people who can't stand it, those who love it and those who have never heard of it.

I remember switching on the TV when I was about 14/15 years old and seeing one of the first episodes of the UK version being aired on the BBC. I genuinely thought that it was real - it was funny to me then, and having grown up since then I have found it to be absolutely genius.

Not so much of a fanatic of the US version, of what little I have seen.

I'm interested to know what the view of bitcointalk is on the matter.

Have at it, and feel free to post any quotes you enjoy from the show! Smiley

Edit: I should add, I'm aware that there are more versions of The Office in many other countries, I'll add another option in for this.
