Well I didn't try to verify as to how long that plague was made but should it date back to a decade ago as the purchase, I guess they weren't thinking on how huge bitcoin and the event would come to be. In fact, the event is gaining more recognition of recent with the increased bitcoin price and so do we hear other testimonies on how people have spent so much of an investment on a supposed $2-5 purchase. Perhaps a more elaborate sign would be made in the nearest future and the history would be better preserved in ground style.

This was a historic moment in Bitcoin, and it's good to see that it's being commemorated.

That reserves a good appreciation as it was one of the highlights of bitcoin when bitcoin was still in its infancy stage. As no one expects that bitcoin’s worth before who was only used to buy pizza can now purchase the whole pizza stand while it’s value is still in surge right now. This one deserves a golden plaque, and we should always be grateful for it as bitcoin starts with a humble beginning.

It seems almost childish (in their eyes) to remember the event of a sale of a pizza with so much interest, but they do not realize the historicity and value of such gesture.

Bitcoin's ethos and design to preserve censorship-resistance, and the resources spent to maintain it, it's more than just another "consumer-product" for personal finance.

I think the plaque looks very nice! My only concern would be that unless it's covered with some polish (and it doesn't look covered), the image will degrade over time because it's wood, and wood is susceptible to weather damage and it generally quite easy to ruin. I hope this was also thought of, and the image will be preserved in that nice way that it is right now. I'm happy Papa John's got this thing because it's an advertisement for Bitcoin as well as something that gives them special positive publicity (makes them different from tons of other pizza chains).

You just totally spoke what I had in mind, because Papa John's store is actually missing out on a golden opportunity of a lifetime, because looking at the background of the picture, I can't find any sign of Bitcoin, promoting that he was actually the maker of the famous Bitcoin Pizza 🍕, because despite the fact it is been mention online that Papa John's is the maker of the famous Bitcoin Pizza, there needs to be a physical sign of either a statue of 2 Pizzas🍕 🍕 with a Bitcoin inscription, so that for people who will travel from far and here, could see what to hold up memories with.
But, in as much as we remember Papa John's pizza, let us not forget the very person who made this day a day to remember, which is the person who bought the 2 pizzas with 10,000 Bitcoin known as Laszlo Hanyecz

I have never regretted it, I guess because I consider Bitcoin a currency in the first place, although I admit that it is more than a good store of value.

Right, and thinking about it now, was it that Papa John's store knew where Bitcoin was headed for them to have accepted it back then as payment or they did do it out of fun? either way, I think it was a nice thing that it happened, and with Bitcoin being what it is today it has become a nice part of Bitcoins history that people can relate to.

Maybe because it's not a privately owned location and they got this only because the manager allowed them?
Chain restaurants and franchise locations have to abide some really stupid rules sometimes, I'm sure if it was different, the owner of the pizza place would have used this already to promote his business, but since it's a chain and even if you increase the sales 100x the only thing you get is a bonus on xmas maybe they didn't want to spend that much energy on it or they were not even allowed till now.

Some morons who have started being interested in crypto just because they saw 200% a day earnings on some ads on youtube are telling others how stupid it was to spend that many bitcoins on a pizza. Without that sale or without anyone spending their coins at that value BTC would have been still under a cent and none of those critics would have ever heard of it.

Ah, well, then everything is clear. Probably, the owners of Papa John's store are not even aware of this meeting, and this plaque is only the result of the guys in the photo's own initiative. Actually, no one will allow to hang a plaque on the wall in the trading floor. The photo with the plaque is cut off on the left and therefore it is not clear whether the plaque is hanging on the wall or not. Or I'm wrong?

I am worried about the drawing on the plaque and I think it is not legible and not distinct. A person who does not know about pizza-day will not understand at all what is depicted there. Even if change the picture, the plaque will still mean nothing to ordinary visitors to this pizzeria. They simply won't understand what the event is about and what it means for the bitcoin community.

I hope my nitpicking isn't taken for toxicity.

As most users commented it is much needed thing and Papa John's have done it. These incidents will give Laszlo Hanyecz the credit of giving value to bitcoin. Maybe he's having a normal life, but his act have changed many users lives and he'll be remembered throughout. Maybe adding some pizza to the menu with the name of Laszlo Hanyecz will add value. Another thing I wish Laszlo Hanyecz have his own pizza store with bitcoin acceptance which can again be a turning in his life.
