In all cases, I wouldn’t want people to search for any of my personal details online to try to contact me.

Whatever is happening/happened with him, let him take care of it. In private.
Absolutely cause if it something he want us to be aware he would talk about it just like how the previous member of this forum does before he deceased.
In the meantime, there's still another forum notification bot which I find useful.

Piggy was online yesterday.
And went online at July 31, 2020, 07:46:12 AM without posting. I have just noticed it now.
Surely he noticed this thread and checked his own and read messages sent by many forum members. I can't understand why he ignore all this but i do respect his choices. I hope he is fine and wish he will come back one day, at least to explain why he choose to leave the forum after building a great profile .

Piggy was online yesterday.

I tried to contact him to ask him for technical advice to integrate my bot with his or fix it together, but he never replied.
I didn't want to duplicate his work, but it was very useful for everyone and therefore I sent him other messages, but nothing. Never replied.

Why are you so burned up that he's not online?

Does he owe you money?

Am I the only one who thinks we should just let him do whatever he is doing?

You're not the only one, but apart from his privacy, people worry. I like to think of this forum as a community, and a sudden disappearance can mean something bad happened.
Just like for satoshi and nullius: in my mind, jail is a best-case scenario. All other scenarios are worse.

I think discussing the alternative for his bot is better than speculating on why he disappears.
It also feels a bit like dancing on Piggy's misfortune to "take over" his notification service.
business is business  Ive determined I need this service since it disappeared. Dont care who provides it. I'll help kickstart. I'd like to see keyword notifications such as or "puzzle"  or "free"

I respect his will to quit anytime without notice but he had a service to which many were (and still are subscribed to).
Such is life. He was providing a free service which he coded in his own time and hosted out of his own pocket, and is under no obligation to maintain it if he doesn't want to. The same could be said for Vod's BPIP or Loyce's treasure trove of data (Loyce's club? Does it have a proper name?) These users are not being paid for the services, there is no contract, and if any of them suddenly decided to stop what they are doing then it would be a big loss to the forum, but ultimately, entirely their decision.

If Piggy comes back and Maggiordomo goes live again, then that would be great, but he doesn't owe us anything, speculating on his reasons is meaningless, and we shouldn't go trying to track him down. If it turns out money was in any way implicated in his and his bot's disappearance, then I'm sure there would be plenty of users willing to donate a few mBTC to cover his costs if he returns. In the meantime Loyce has already started work on an alternative, and if it ends up with two similar services running, then all the better.

Am I the only one who thinks we should just let him do whatever he is doing? Maybe he is passing through some personal problems, maybe something happened, or maybe he just decided to quit for some time without any warning. In all cases, I wouldn’t want people to search for any of my personal details online to try to contact me.

What I've checked is only if he was online for the past 1-2 months. The information is available on bitcointalk so everyone can find it without any difficulties. I haven't send him any messages nor try to contact him in any way. I respect his will to quit anytime without notice but he had a service to which many were (and still are subscribed to). So sudden disappearance does really make it awkward.

Everyone of us have a life outside the forum and as far as an online community is concerned we can't really expect anyone of us to stay online or active here until our death. Maggiordomo was a well written piece of code which helped many of us, but the sadder reality is that we should move on with the recent 'Loyce Notification Bot'. Personal problems plays a vital role and will probably force us to leave what we like at times (forum?). There were a ton of valuable members who left the forum, made a significant contribution and never returned back.

The problem can be due to their lack of interest in bitcoin or the forum as a whole, due to their health (Hal) or personal problems or might be due to their personal involvement in something bigger than this and which concerns them more than this forum etc. The likes of Piggy can be found right from satoshi, nullius and to the very recent disappearance of a valuable member like ICO Ethics. Some stay here regardless of their personal problems and for some this forum has become close to their real life.

Satoshi left the bitcoin for the greater good to make it more decentralized and so does everyone has a cause for themselves leaving this place. Many of us from 2017-2018 era would be very well aware of nullius (the outstanding tech and highly anonymous guy), but their reason of leaving was not really clear except the logging in from TOR.

Based on the reason stated above, I think it is probably a reasonable conclusion that he lost interest in posting from the forum.

Whatever the reason is, let him be. I think discussing the alternative for his bot is better than speculating on why he disappears.

Piggy hasn't been online in the forum for like 2 months now. A few days ago his notification bot also went offline.
I don't know where Piggy is, but my speculation is that he was using a rented VPS to host his notification bot, and that he stopped paying the bill for the VPS and it was eventually taken offline by his hosting provider.

His signature is now blank, but there is an old snapshot of his profile with a paid signature.

He had also not posted in nearly 4 months prior to the last time he logged in.

I decided to check what information I can find about Piggy. Found some social media links, other profiles and websites here and there but not a recent activity.
I'll keep an eye on those and inform you if there is any activity.

I can't help you find Piggy, but I'm working on an alternative for the notification bot: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/replaced-loycevs-mention-notification-bot-post-in-the-new-topic-to-use-it-5209773

It's not yet ready, but users can apply already. For the users who subscribe before it's working, I'll notify them retroactively from the moment Maggiordomo went offline.

After ICOEthics this is another valuable member mysterious disappearance in the last few months. Piggy hasn't been online in the forum for like 2 months now. A few days ago his notification bot also went offline.
Let's not spam his thread [RELEASED] @mention notification bot - now with Telegram
.. But use this one for information and discussions.
