This could be a chance for the poor to become rich. Instead of killing poor to poor. Why not the poor organised and rob the rich.

i did not post about the sequel entitled "anarchy". i watched the first one.

maybe there is "a message" somebody is trying to convey. maybe there isn't. either way i don't care. it's just a movie to me. movies do not sway my perception of reality.

the connection between this movie and the "anarchy society" you are talking about is so far apart any message the producers are trying to convey is mute through my perspective.

this movie was not about the traditional definition of anarchy or anarchy society. it was about government sanctioned elimination of the lower class. there is a huge difference.

you guys are missing the point of this movie. it had more references of religious and patriotic fervor than anything to do with anarchy.

Either way, the movie is called The Purge: Anarchy.  It gives a distinct delusion of fear mongering to the name of anarchy.

If you listen to the trailer though, it clearly communicates anarchy as the equivalent to murder being acceptable and widespread.

"For the next 12 hours, all crimes, including murder, will be legal"

The emphasize the point that anarchy for 12 hours would lead to psychotic murders all over the place.

Whether their intentions were to bastardize anarchy or not, that's what they accomplished.  And I would be willing to bet they knew their intentions quite well, there are very aware people in hollywood.  Movies are made to convey messages.

Speaking of movies, go see Lucy.  There's a movie that has a meaningful message to share.

this movie was nuts. for 12 hours once a year america goes without the rule of law. everybody gets to do whatever the fuck they want and people start killing.

12 hours would be a logistical nightmare.  The people I want to kill are all over the place.   Undecided

Start with me vod.  Unless you're, you know, scared of peaceful ole dank?

That movie is fear propaganda to skew the public opinion of anarchy and increase volunteery dependence of governments.

This.  Somtimes dank is bang on.

I'll remind you guys in mexico several cites had to form militas to protect themselves from the police...  Starting to look similar here...  People don't become murdering pychos because are lifted.. we actually band together and greatness is acheived..  You know.. the entire idea behind your country...  No standing army.. no police force.. this was the idea of America.. now it holds the most brutal police and most milatrized and on of the largest armies... Such fail.

i'd go out and purchase crack cocaine other drugs and just go wild for 12 hours.  then i'd throw them away after the government turns back on the cameras in my house

The concept of the movie was great but the movie itself absolutely sucked.  They focused on a single family when i thought it would show like an entire town and what's happening in it. Bad actors and a horrible story line with routine boring twists made it an unbearable event. I could have made a better film with my Cellphone and 15 minutes of time.

Can i get my 2 hours of wasted life back?

The Purge Academy is closer to what you want but you can only expect so much from a limited movie budget.

I call bullshit, I see some great fan movies and stuff get made that are mostly done with just time and effort, this one was done with a bit of crowdfunding and that's it.

No, I like comedy like Jon Stewart which focuses on actual reality most of the time and points at the flaws that really exist in society and peoples ideologies rather than their own bullshit perception, he calls this phenomenon, bullshit mountain Cheesy

I only glanced at the trailer, not only do I not like horror style movies I just didn't find it that interesting Cheesy
it's not really horror cause it's not meant to be scary. it's an interesting twist on american values and it's suppose to make you reflect on society.

are you the type that likes stupid comedy like pineapple express half baked or dumb and dumber?

If there was a purge then I would be a little more prepared than some cheap machete and a Halloween costume from Value Village.   Undecided

As well this movie is entertainment.  Despite Agenda 21 conspiracy stuff, you wouldn't kill off the poor or the dependents as that would increase the value of labour and goes against the theory of division of labour.    (much like after the Black Death, where 30% -50% of people died, is what brought an end to feudalism and brought about the economic prosperity which culminated in the age of exploration and the renaissance).
