A Great Time to Start Something!
If your estimate was lower than actual, they could get away with trimming it.

BS
My estimate was $10 under (careless mistake), but the full amount is there now.  Smiley

I hope this is not the case. I was 99% sure that my balance was $5,250 but was not 100% sure so I decided to put 'over $5,000' as my last balance estimation. I hope when I login my balance is not $5,000  Embarrassed

(Note these are not the actual figures for my account but you get the general idea)

Edit: My account balance is correct. I checked it here: https://claim.mtgox.com/status.html

oh man didn't even know we could check this here

my balances are correct, PHEW

No. It's so that they can make you think of a particular number, and at the same time use their mind-scanning machine in order to match and translate the brainwaves of one particular person to his account. Now that you told them the number and information you were thinking of, they know exactly who you are and can read your thoughts!

Also, MTOGOX = Mind Transmission Operation Gerf Orpp'lolk Xarblan

I don't know what Gerf Orpp'lolk Xarblan is, but it sure as hell isn't English. Oh god they're finally here.

I doubt. I told them that I had something between 200$ and 300$ and it appears that I've slightly more than 300$. (not the actual numbers, just to give you an idea).
Same here... I forgot about some coins I received last weekend, so my actual balance is higher than the estimate.

So I don't think that they want to play that game ;-)

the REAL reason is cuz they probably lost their database cuz they never made a backupm, cuz mark kaspereto lost it when he laughed so hard at an anime joke that he spit milk through his nose  all over the company's only hard drive which was running caseless cuz he had 4 5830's in there and it was heating up the whole office.. Also the company's 'auditor' that mark dude was eating cheetos at the time and got cheeto dust all up in that sheeit so its totally unrecoverable..so they're just going off whatever u say it was..

I think the estimate I gave them was slightly higher, I'll have to log into see

Yeah, you'll "see" what they want you to see when you login.  When I was estimating, I was torn between accuracy so I wouldn't get locked out of the account, and protecting myself against this kind of horseshit.  Aaaargh.

Well I gave them the exact amount and time of one of my bitcoin deposits, also which of their addresses I sent it to.  That's pretty dead proof of ownership, unless someone stole my computer,

It would actually be tough to fake the account balances.  You'd have to change all of the transactions involved and make it consistent with what can be reconstructed from the block chain and previous known balances and trade times.  I'm not sure Mt.Gox is up to the task really.

i bought 40 BTC at $6.11, then withdrew it.  That will be reversed, so my BTC will be negative, offsetting what cash I have left there.  If they screw with my cash, I'll just keep my bitcoins and call it even.
