My reasons is simple and might be the same with most other users, because the current bitcoin is the most profitable investment. Since I bought the bitcoin a year ago, I never had a loss when selling it.
When we come to the topic of cryptocurrency we always take example of bitcoin and then alt coins. even when we explain cryptocurrency to noob then also we take example of bitcoin. And we know bitcoin is the father of all cryptocurrencies and alt coin without bitcoin is worthless because not mnay website/store accept alt coin first we have to convert those alt coins to notion out other cryptocurrency like USD then only we can use it.○
I won't say that bitcoin will always remain number 1 but yes it will remain number 1 for the long term. Any altcoin might come up with huge market cap and large community so it's not impossible kind of thing. However bitcoin as a early player of the cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, it is difficult for altcoins to compete with bitcoin as of now.
Just like dollars, as we can see, our top currency or the one mainly used by all users is bitcoin. All wallets have bitcoin, even you are doing some tradings, bitcoin always there to buy, or to sell. Tradings and other altcoins uses bitcoin. Like the currency of dollar, dollar is used all over the world, sometimes we convert our own currency to dollars, like all other altcoins, bitcoin is use to trade to other altcoins.
Currency has there own territory, in fiat, USD is more dominant but in the crypto world we have bitcoin as the number 1. I guess that way will remain even in the future, they will continue to progress as we continue to support them.

Bitcoin is surely a best digital currency and it will maintain its position in future too but the fact is not many have heard about bitcoins yet and that is the only drawback bitcoin holds but the good news is the number of users of growing slowly and steadily and if it continues in future then bitcoin will be used by almost everyone and then the demand of fiat can go much lower in future.

But it seems to me that even now people are starting to use more BitCoin instead of Government-issued money. Perhaps due to the instability in our country this happens. Maybe due to hopes for stability of BitCoin. But fact is fact.

Its hard to believe that bitcoin can ever get stable in future and if it gets stable then many people will not bother about it as it will not give them opportunity to make quick profits which they are making at a moment due to price volatility in bitcoins but those who wants to use it as a currency will surely want to see stable price in bitcoins.
I think even with minor variations, it will suit many. The more so that the dollar, which is now widely used and has small fluctuations. Even gold, which is considered the most safe investment, probably quite a bit but ranges. Keep money in BitCoins will be when it will receive more in the life of people. When banks begin to use it without any problems, when it can pay off in any Cafe world. Or in many cafes, at least.

Reason right? show me a real legit, stable, supported by hundreds of thousands in community alternative, this is really simple Satoshi didn't want a quick cash grab, he did it with love and idealism intentions. though BTC is the best until it's not. other devs act like they own the coin lol.

Normally before you get something that involves money, The name is the last thing that you will consider.
it does have connotations. there are some extremely stupid names for alts out there that do them no favors.
anyway i reckon bitcoin will always be number one is because it started from nothing with zero expectations. that can never, ever be replicated by any other crypto.

I would not be so sure that any other crypto currency not replace bitcoin one day. Bitcoin is limited by the number of 21 millions and it's impossible to it would be enough for all people who wants to get it. Maybe one day in the case of huge price bitcoin will be the most expansive currency, but there will be many other crypto currencies that will be more useful and that's why more popular.
My main reason for that is bitcoin quality.Bitcoin quality is so perfect because of that it can replace fiat very easy but we cant predict that when it will happent correctly only guess.I like bitcoin name I dont know why to change something about bitcoin when everything is so perfect.

I think people will always find a cooler name than bitcoin, but the reason why Bitcoin is number one because of being the pioneer of cryptocurrency and being adopted by majority of population of cryptocurrency. And that is also the reason why Bitcoin is almost the best name for cryptocurrency.
Another coins will be always far behind bitcoin, because people invest in altcoins in order to expect profits by convert it into bitcoin, traders do it every day. It's simply because people trust bitcoin beneficial for them and won't fail as time already prove it.

As you said the number of bitcoin is limited, so nowadays many people start to use bitcoins so, demand will increase so bitcoin price will increase more and more.
