The alleged Facebook scandal is simply ridiculous: if users put their personal affairs on a social media, they can not complain if someone uses this data.
And facebook did not do anything special, it didn't disclose secret data, it only presented the public ones in an orderly manner.

Recently, Facebook has been caught misusing their clients data. Cambridge Analytica, a data firm, has gotten access to over 50 Million private Facebook accounts. Private details of peoples’ daily lives were leaked to corporations.

It’s not just Facebook. Corporations have huge amounts of data about us, and even if they don’t misuse it, hackers could get into their databases. This shows why we need crypto and decentralization. Decentralized systems could prevent a lot of this in the future.

Yep. I completely agree with your point, governments has to think of this Facebook incident atleast and make Bitcoin legal tender usage in their respective countries. Privacy is the right of a human and if that is theft or hacked what other things safety is my concern. Government haven't steped down for this issue, if it is happend for Bitcoin then the whole world will be threatened with their action. Thank god for the advanced technology we use in Bitcoin.
Bitcoin and cryptocurrency have proven their worth following the Facebook incident as a leak of user information. Anonymity and privacy are essential for today's life, and other media can not. So I believe that bitcoin and cryptocurrency will gain more community trust in the future.

You should have included the source of this news:

https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:M_A8_sEXMP8J:https://www.wired.com/story/cambridge-analytica-execs-caught-discussing-extortion-and-fake-news/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ph

Facebook is not directly involved in this scandal. Facebook has a lot of clients and one of them is Cambridge Analytica. What happened was Cambridge Analytica promised Facebook that they will delete the information of fb users on 2015. But they did not. Instead, they harvested the data on 50M users to create a fake news against political opponents for extortion.

PS. Don't create misleading news. Read it carefully.
Even if this is so, and Facebook is not really to blame, our data can still be threatened. I think the safest messenger is a telegram, and soon it will become even more closely related to crypto-currencies after the ICO.

When I read the comment by Mark Zuckerberg on this issue, I felt disappointed despite the post coming up with taking responsibility and some form of remorse, it does not change the fact that they have failed in keeping the privacy of their users. The news of them releasing information of users is not new though as they have been given to government agencies of different who asked for it at several times in which they had no choice but to comply. The simple fact is decentralisation is the answer, this only became a scandal because the organisation involved has stepped on powerful toes and needs to be taken down. Mind you, this is one of Facebook's client and no one knows what they are doing with such information. Way out pending the time decentralisation will take over, be careful of the information you put on social media any one for that matter.

Look. When corporations are involved, you can bet your ass that profit is the main, if not the only motivation. The facebooks, the Twitters, they're all collecting and selling whatever they can off you. Facebook got caught but they're all guilty, deliberately or inadvertently.

And if you think it's okay to have centralised leaderships in crypto, this should be a lesson to bear in mind. Zuckerberg was FB's point of failure... But we have many personalities leading their versions of crypto.

CryptoTalk.Org - Get Paid for every Post!
That makes me happy because im not using this platform since many years. Though it is addictive I have overcome it since the day people in my circle got crazy about posting shit photos by editing it. That was awkward and I left it since hone. Lol. I thought Facebook was the most secure thing that we have until now but I was wrong and im happy that im wrong becasue this is anyway shit. We are now blessed with more secured social platforms which are running over the blockchain tech now. The block itself is giving extra protection to these projects thus they are way better than Facebook shit.

Facebook is promoting many fake information. In addition to the use of fake applications, Facebook users have been embraced. If anyone uses those applications, then all the data is likely to be lost to the hackers. But it is possible to prevent hacking from avoiding these sarcasm. These news will only affect the cryptosystem. I do not think Cambridge Analytica has done so many recharges. It's a matter of viewing and thinking that "Decentralized systems could prevent a lot of this in the future."

Recently Facebook came forward with plans to create new terms of use to avoid the cryptocurrency based promotion. With this news already they were in a mislead path providing data to Cambridge analytica who have lead path for a party to easily get into governance as well on election campaign getting into the personal data of clients.

This is a very bad news for facebook. I do not want to believe that it is true.If true, facebook will lose a lot of users.Because people will lose confidence in Facebook.

People already know that. The ones that do not know the Facebook intentions and their habits about the keeping other people profiles and also sharing them if needed are the children which are just starting the Facebook profile and are actually to immature to realize the full concept of the facebook.
Crypto even if it can be tracked on the blockchain is actually a perfect measure against the hackers and the governments which are striving towards the control but the decentralization is obstructing the path to the control.
I am happy with the information that the more users will found out about the scammy intentions behind the big companies.

Establishing decentralization in these aspects would put an end to private data leaks which have caused a lot of security concerns over the years. Even as Facebook admitted to their mistake of letting this happen, this certainly will not prevent future events of the same kind from happening and will serve as a reminder to the rest of the world for the need for decentralization.

There is trouble abrewing
Recently, Facebook has been caught misusing their clients data.

a big company that is located in US is definitely going to share ALL the data of ALL its users with big 3 letter agencies such as NSA and CIA. they always pull some publicity stunts from time to time saying "we are resisting and won't give them anything" but they have been doing it all along.

that is why i am also always skeptical when i read things like this saying there was a "leak". i always think they are covering something up.

Facebook is not even useful anymore for your business. These damn bastards have put in bankruptcy a lot of online businesses that were using Facebook for advertisements. Now Facebook has become completely useless because the social side of sharing stuff is being taken over by Instagram.

According to this logic, it is not very clear why they act with such a sharp criticism of crypto currencies, and do not try to integrate into the new market.

It is obviously clear. If they didn't care to put in bankruptcy a lot of websites which used Facebook ads and were perfectly legal, then why would they care to stop ICOs? Most are scams, some are good tho, and the good ones will suffer because of that.

Facebook controls most of the ad traffic on the internet beside Google Adsense. Now all these online businesses are fucked.

Facebook is NSA friendly obviously so they will not be pro bitcoin.

They criticize it due to some ICO scamming events and might they don't want to get involved with this thing since maybe they will be sued by the authorities if they let those ICO scammers advertise at their site. But I wonder on what will happen on the facebook accounts on future times since those date leaking are so lame act by the facebook team.

That is one of the problems here, privacy of our personal life is one of our basic fundamental rights given to us by our constitution without it our life would be owned by someone else. If Facebook is caught guilty with what they are doing they must have a penalty internationally and must pay compensation and damages to all of the persons whose accounts are affected. I wouldn't be surprised is Facebook is also monitoring us with our mobile phone's camera, the possibility is there folks and we don't have the ability to reveal it.

I agree with you, this is bad news about facebook, and if it really happened, its impact on facebook users, facebook users will decrease because people think facebook is not safe.
Facebook did take a huge hit because of this their stock fell significantly. Some paranoid people are saying that Facebook sells data to NSA and such, don't if that's true but you can never to sure. IIRC Edward Snowden also accused Facebook of the same.

This is very impact on the reputation of Facebook is getting worse, which is actually a few days backward also happened on Facebook, this news is the most important, which can be much attention from famous people and all its users, reaping inconvenience in the use of Facebook, all will impact on large-scale user reductions as it has gained a lack of trust.

Yep. Decentralization of everything would be best. I think that there are few icos for decentralized social platforms and I predict that after this scandal they should become really popular. Anything that goes against few heads in control sounds good to me, it feels terrible to be a puppet in this world and to know that the government and other top coorporations can tell the brand of the underware I am wearing right now. It sucks to have no control over our personal information and have it sold so we can be manipulated.

If you study marketing or advertising in general you will learn that data is vital for their targeting. I suggest some of you guys read the filter bubble. Every time someone uses a "free" app or game related to or not to Facebook you give up rights to use it.
For example,
you download FB on your phone. In return you get to use the app but you give up tons of your data to use the messenger app. That data can many times also be requested by 3rd party apps or games. Those apps may not have highly secure data centers as opposed to FB. Even if they did, data is being sold all over the world for fractions of cents for each persons records.  Probably not the best case but regardless if your info is online just assume it's being sold unless you use highly secure stuff. Which there probably is ways like vpn's not being signed into facebook or google etc. while browsing the web.

Anyhow, it is a good reminder of why privacy crypto is the future. At least that little buckets of information won't be tracked or sold on the market like credit card transactions are at the moment to  other  credit card vendors.  Just look at the opt in or opt out forms you get when getting a credit card. You can only opt out of so much...

FB screwed up pretty bad.
