The Russia propaganda machine was in full effect for Trump pre election. Hillary was the fucking anti Christ apparently, and the convenient leak of DNC emails didn't help the situation. I even remember PutinTrump artwork on display.

Now fast forward. Trump has been taking an increasingly harder line with Russia, via Tillerson, in order to discredit the allegations of collusion with Russia during the election. Then we get to the Syrian crisis. Not so suddenly (this has been a slow motion train wreck) , Trump has outlived his usefulness. State media won't be as accommodating.
