Some South Koreans in my workplace also mentioned their local bank (which is pretty big in their home and sponsors the national football team) is also now into Sandbox and building some metaverse bank facilities. Not sure how true or how big, since it's second hand news but does appear like they're going really big with things huh. Doubt it'll really affect token prices though.
I believe it. The metaverse is the evolution of the metaverse. Everything will eventually move over to VR virtual spaces. That's why I'm dedicating 33% of my portfolio to metaverse projects like CNDL, ATRI, ENJ, and DRC.

The metaverse is the evolution of the universe you mean? Just guessing Wink

I know and believe VR will be an alternative but I don't think EVERYTHING will move over. Just look at Covid when majority of people suddenly forced to work remote. People realized not everyone is able to work virtual or remote. Fine for me, since I'm used to it.

Remember early Bitcoin people thought they would replace all money. It just isn't happening. New technology is alternative and not necessarily what everyone wants.

I don't think Facebook will buy Sandbox. They are building their own metaverse. That said, I think there is a place for decentralized metaverses, and that's why I am heavily invested in DRC, CNDL, and ATRI metaverse projects.
I’m also wondering with this since Facebook is a huge company and they can really have their own project and introduce it into the public. Maybe because of the government pressure, Facebook is trying to look for other ways to adopt cryptocurrency and this one can also be a good decision. Metaverse is still young, and I’m sure they can offer more food stuffs for us, and that’s why I’m also investing with them.

Since they are also developing their own metaverse, the acquisition of the sandbox is not surprising, once the sandbox is owned by Facebook it will be a product of facebook and they can change the name, can integrate sandbox integrated into their product.

If this rumor is true, it can be seen that this metaverse field is very potential when traditional companies are encroaching on it. My prediction the metaverse will be the next trend for the market, when the bear market ends, the bull market comes, these metaverse projects will explode and create a trend in the market.

It seems that rumors which began in March of this year are really heating up now.  There are lots of people on social media discussing a supposedly pending buyout offer of the Sandbox by Facebook (now Meta) for the price of 4 billion dollars.  I'm not sure how that would effect their SAND currency, or if the rumors are based in reality, but the total SAND market cap right now sits at around 1.5 billion dollars.  While I don't expect this offer to directly translate to a 4 billion dollar market cap for SAND, the popularity of Facebook/Meta would certainly have a positive effect on the development and value of things connected to the Sandbox.

Anyone have any more details on these rumors or incite on what will happen to SAND as a result of a deal (if true) with Facebook/Meta?
I have just checked out on SAND
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/the-sandbox/

Max Supply
3,000,000,000
Total Supply
3,000,000,000

Currently circulating
1.26B SAND which is 42%

Price is way too far compared into its ATH but if this situation would come into fruition or reality then expect that
there would be significant price rise but not really that much into that certain extent that it could reach out the rooftop.

I think Sandbox should create a bridge to enable users to transfer their NFT (LAND) and native tokens (SAND) over to other layer-2 networks like Candle Chain (lik they did with Polygon) instead of being acquired by Meta which could be a kiss of death for them

I really dont think Sandbox will agree to selling their previous baby to any corporate company Their have lots of money and devs behind the project not to talk about all the celebrities hype and adidas behind them I mean why will they possibly sell it if they can just host facebook on their metaverse Purely rumours that should be taken just lightly

Facebook has always wanted to achieve its goal of launching cryptocurrencies but has always run into a lot of obstacles and so they are better off offering Sandbox a rather expensive price instead of rearranging it. The reason may be that Sandbox has criteria that match what Facebook was expecting when they switched to Meta. Despite Facebook goals, until now Sandbox has maintained its ecosystem to remain decentralized.

there it goes. sandbox doesn't really look like its something that could make useful in real world, its  close to what roblox is today which kids are playing. just as i can see in this sandbox preview. the kids also chat in roblox as i can see my kid is joining to her friends group like a server.

something that i don't know about though, i'm not following the project. the team must have good plans for Sandbox why they won't sell to facebook for more than what its worth.

"Metaverse" doesn't have to do anything with real world. At best it's a gamified augmented layer on top or real world that unifies all sorts of data and services. At worst it's a game ecosystem that no one uses. But i wouldn't be surprised facebook grabbing useless projects for themselves.

I don't know if you have read this, but I quoted from the Co-Founder,

But the possibility is always there I guess, though I am not sure why Meta would want to acquire SandBox in the first place, they already showing some teaser of their own metaverse. And I don't think SandBox has significant differences with what Meta already have.

I still think this is just a rumourand that some big things need to change so that facebook (meta) gets into this.
Sand with or without facebook will do some incredible things in the future and i think that sandbox time is yet to come
sand with or without facebook was a good project. They building incridible metaverse space in this crypto market. But if its true it will big news and could be main trigger for sand movement in future. There will alot big company join in metaverse project in future for their own benefits.

There's no denying that The Sandbox has lived up to its promise of a platform where marketers can create their best and most engaging content, so it's only natural that Facebook is clearly interested in capitalizing on that success. Overall, it will be interesting to see what Facebook's acquisition of The Sandbox means for the future of the platform and SAND more broadly where the company goes from here. If the rumors are true in the coming months.

I thought this isn't a rumor anymore since Sandbox has claimed that they will maintain a decentralized and open ecosystem[1] for people to thrive in. Plus, Borget says that they will defend their metaverse from Tech Giants including Facebook now Meta[2].
I still think that it won't happen, but at the same time money is money and if offered a ton of money then everyone can sell everything. Meta is a huge rich company and they have bought instagram and whatsapp for billions of dollars, if they offer billions of dollars to Sandbox as well then it would be exchanging ownership for sure.

However, the reason why I think it won't happen is not that facebook can't buy it, they can afford to convince and buy for sure. The reason why I believe it won't happen is the fact that facebook could build something much much better if they wanted to. Hell second life was a better version and I never liked sandbox. Hence why I believe if facebook wants something like that, they could build a much better version for sure.
But money is not everything. I am sure that there are some who will value their possessions more, than the money that is being offered to them no matter how big it was. They can still earn decent anyway since sandbox is still the leading metaverse/nft project up until this date though you're right.

Facebook has the money and they can use all that money to hire good developers to develop a project with the same concept and can be much better than what the sandbox is offering now. Also they won't have a problems with promotions since they can just use their own platform. Sandbox are going to be threatened heavily if that is going to happen.

"This versatile Ethereum ERC-20 cryptocurrency allows users to access the game platform, buy and sell ASSETs, partake in governance,"
https://coinmarketcap.com/earn/project/sandbox

So the only way to aquire SAND and decide about its future is to own majority of tokens am I wrong here that are in fact constantly geing printed by play to earn mechanism? Or this whole "decentralized" thing is fake, company is owned by single identity and can be sold to META and token owners own nothing except from fun from having a token.

I think it will be an acquisition soon but they're not allowed to discuss in the public of what really is happening. If I'm one of the owners or developers of Sandbox, I'll agree with this acquisition rumor from Meta. It's one way to go for them to really thrive if they want to.
With many unlimited resources for development but they're worried about the centralization of it. They shouldn't worry about it because most platforms even those that claim they are decentralized, are semi-centralized.
