There's never a secret in gambling. Gambling unlike other stigmatized stuff should be really stigmatized. The secret of winning in gambling is to not make that bet. Rather buy a chocolate with the amount and feed to a homeless child. Atleast you will get back happiness. But if you gamble, whether or not you will win, you will lose because addiction to it is lethal.
Sad part of being a gambler is every time you wanted to hit the big win then you'll going to lose it back after, that hype inside you make you more aggressive instead of being satisfied with what you already have, pushing for more will only lead you to make it worst, if you want to proceed further then start realizing the possibilities and accept all the risk.

You are right in general, but not about operators. In fact, they are not taking everything you lose. On a gambling site with 1% house edge, 99% of the money lost by one party is won by another. Of course it is not like that every hour or every day, but the more people bet on the site, with billions bets made, the closer the situation to what I described above. If there were no winners, gambling would cease existing long time ago because no one wants to lose every time. I will consider luck is the secret of gambling because no one will know about luck. The present of luck is a mystery and cannot be predicted. So the luck will be the most secret of gambling. But for most gamblers will say that there is nothing secret in gambling, and I agree with them because I think that is a myth among the gamblers.
