This is really cool, such a simple form of presentation, this is exactly what beginners need. Simple and understandable, no extra cumbersome nuances, everything is as short as possible and to the point. If there is anything else connected with cryptocurrencies in this series, it will be a bomb.
I just loved how they gave efforts in explaining what cryptocurrency is. The explanation was short yet precise and it's actually good for beginners. And that they explained it through a fun way, other fans of The Simpsons who don't know cryptocurrency can also learn the idea of crypto by just watching it.

Let's just wait and see if there will be another crypto related appearance on the said series because it doesn't just happened for the first time, this also happened before. They've been showing small hints even before that you wouldn not notice unless you will see that their predictions already happened.

The Simpsons have already predicted many things correctly, even if it is only an animated series. I wouldn't be surprised if they were right about bitcoin and it would be the money of the future. Either way, it's cool that the Simpsons are crypto-friendly. Even Peter of Family Guy knows bitcoin, as you can see in this video.  Smiley  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HFtk29k7-Y

It's really awesome to watch some the Simpsons predictions that happened in reality years after some scenes have been aired. And I didn't even think that crypto could also be one of their "predictions". We cannot say it's a complete prediction but that picture or crypto barn that was aired in 1997, that's awesome. They've already given a hint. Even that block in a chain.
Totally great that the Simpsons are getting talked about cryptocurrency and what would be happen on the cryptocurrency after a years or what. Predictions of the Simpsons are definitely a good factor introduce an adaptive the currency all over the world we all know that the simpsons are getting famous all over the world especially those tv shows that aired in different channels and every country. Prediction of them will be having a good factor to the market especially to the people who are getting questionable about cryptocurrency.

For me this thread is less about what The Simpsons “predict” and more about Bitcoin gaining free advertising. The Simpsons is arguably the biggest TV show the world has known , ie , length of running, amount of the worlds population who have heard of or watched the programme and if Bitcoin is mentioned on the show it’s a HUGE positive for adoption.

Thanks for sharing! It's a great idea to introduce the topic of Bitcoin in an episode of The Simpsons. I see it as it is: "Crypto in Pop Culture". I love the message it is clear that we are an important community and on TV we all win, besides being educational. For public knowledge, it is known that Bitcoin and Crypto are close to reaching adoption.

I just also saw this on the link you have provided, where there's an episode in season 8 and you can see the word "crypto" barn at the back. It was aired in March 1997 and it's interesting that it was aired a long time ago yet we can see the word crypto.

Although crypto doesn't just mean cryptocurrency, you can also see beside it a statement saying "a place for codes" which is very related to cryptocurrency.
So it means that The Simpsons partially predicted the upcoming cryptocurrency?

Tho, most of the modern technology now requires massive computing and programming, and that's "a place for codes" means.

Very interesting.  Shocked

It's amazing that cryptocurrency is also being shown in an episode of The Simpsons. I remembered that they have also mentioned Bitcoin before in an episode, I just forget what episode. But what's more, fun is that we're aware that there are times where The Simpsons predicted the future.
I am sure this is a recent video and so is the reason you will these reference and it is not about predicting the future, as already mentioned comedy works in relation with the recent global events and hence the top financial topic is cryptocurrency and hence it is mentioned in an episode.

The last line got my attention because it says "we know who Satoshi is, but we're not telling." I don't know whether to believe this or not because it's just a mere cartoon but this part is really interesting.
You need to watch comedy to understand the real comic behind these words Grin. It is simply the writer taking a dig at the hunt for Satoshi.

Cryptocurrency is the money of the future for sure, as time goes on a lot of will start adopting cryptocurrency and that’s starting with the government, a few of them are now looking into it and very soon they will start creating their own cryptocurrencies that users/citizens of those countries can convert to using their currencies. I have seen some countries that created their own cryptocurrencies but along the line they failed to implement it.

Maybe they just don’t know how they are going to do it. I’m looking forward to when China will be releasing their own cryptocurrency, and I will see how it’s going to work, though I know for sure that they will be handled by the banks and people will be able to purchase them by using services offered by the banks. Germany already passed a law that may allow German banks to be able to sell and store Bitcoin.

I still feel like people are reading way too much into this satoshi gag.  I don't know if it's just a symptom of modern times for everyone to be a conspiracy theorist wingnut, but it's kinda sad.  You literally can't say anything these days without someone misinterpreting it as a "fact".

It's.  A.  Joke.

For all the people saying they've predicted stuff in the past, on a long enough timeline, if you worked with a group of people for 30 years writing thousands of jokes about stuff that might happen in future, a small number of them probably would come true at some point.  It wouldn't mean every joke you've ever told is some sort of coded message that you know what the future holds.

I don't know whether to believe this or not because it's just a mere cartoon but this part is really interesting. This episode was already talked on twitter and even the Binance tweet this. I want to look more on the video to look for a hint or something that's related to crypto. What do you think about this episode?

No one knows if this is real or not,
They might only show this to the public just to gather more viewers or anything, we don't know the main reason, or maybe this is real.
It also got my attention since they have predicted more scene in our cuurrent state, that makes me urge to believe that the writer really do travel through time.

The Simpsons is a shadow of its former self, the show went from having above 20 millions of viewers to below 4 millions as of now.
Yeah, but look how long the show has been on the air!  It would be hard for any show to remain relevant for that long--30 years if I'm not mistaken.  Anyway, the Simpsons has been incorporating contemporary issues into its episodes for quite a while now, so I'm not shocked to see this.  It's kind of cool, actually.
Can you not talk about how views it got and just appreciate the publicity and exposure of cryptocurrency on different platform? However I agree with @The Pharmacist no show can remain timeless and relevant all of the time. The Simpsons using contemporary issues is just their only way to keep it alive, unlike before that their episodes are for the future reference lol. It's good to see cryptocurrency education to be exposed in a broad field especially with million viewers show.

The Satoshi reference is just a joke to those in the know.  It's their attempt to be clever, which is another hallmark of the Simpsons.
Jokes are half meant. We've know this show for a long time and they were very clever on the past however we are being blown out by them with their predictions. Have you guys saw everything they have predicted?
I would not be surprise if they start talking a name in certain and provided events that could turn out to be true. Unlikely right?

I really like the show they have shown so many things before it actually happens.
This got me curious does time travel actually exist since they got so many things correct before it happens.
But back on the topic it is great that one of the greatest cartoons is showing interest on crypto and even explaining it.

wow this is awesome .  the director could be a fan of bitcoin and thats why they insert btc on one of thier scenes  but that are only short clips i guess and will not be really noticeable to the viewers if they dont foccus on it  and also this is a cartoon tv show so the viewers are mainly kids   .

would be better if they also insert some scenes on an adult fims so that we can target the right audience   .  making the exposure a little bit longer is also a good idea   .

Have you seen the video of The Simpsons talking about cryptocurrency in episode 13, season 31 on February 21, 2020? The short clip is about when Jim Parsons gave a brief explanation on what is cryptocurrency and blockchain's function to crypto. Here's a YouTube link for the video if you want to watch. I suggest that you should watch it. It will only take 1 minute and 49 seconds of your time.

But what's more, fun is that we're aware that there are times where The Simpsons predicted the future. There's this line in the video where a ledger character is singing and said
Quote
"Each day I'm closer to being cash of the future. Not in your wallet, I'm in your computer"

This idea is already starting since we're slowly achieving mass adoption. Although they didn't mention Bitcoin in this episode with this, it gives me strongly believe that crypto can soon be widely accepted and can be the cash of the future.  Also, this statement was shown in the video

Is there anything that the Simpson's haven't talked about ? They have talked about everything and everyone .
I do not think that they would know who Satoshi is , I mean why would they ?
They are just trying to stir up some passive advertising. This is a well known trick that the companies uses therefore I do think you don't need to actually focus on something like this .
At least they are brave enough to teach their audience about things like these . Good thing for us Cheesy
That's what I like Simpsons, They tackle interesting things that caught my attention every time and I know I'm not the only one. I think this is their strategy to collect such viewers like me.
The more they tackle interesting things the most viewer they will have like this, They tackled bitcoin into their episode and some people who are using will watch it and the people who watched it because of a certain episode might watch another episode because they are hooked up on the interesting topics that Simsons tackled on their episodes.

I also agree that it is good for us, Given that they have many viewers, Some people might be curious about cryptocurrency because of them. It might give the biggest curiosity to people on the line that they know who is Satoshi Nakamoto.

LMAO, coincidence? I don't think so  Wink

To have the Simpsons talking about cryptos is a great step for bitcoin, for sure a lot of people will start buying cryptos after this... Let's wait to see the impact this has.
I agree with you,

The Simpsons predicted a lot of things that really happened in the future, and that includes Trump being the president of the United States.

But I don't think that if a lot of people will see this, a huge impact to bitcoin will happen. Also, there is no reason for people to start buying, unless they already know about bitcoin.

I think this is good for all of us! After all, the more people know about Bitcoin, the more confidence people will have in cryptocurrency. By the way, I will not be surprised if in the near future cryptocurrency will be more common with the Simpsons or South Park

If Matt Groening really knew who Satoshi is, I will not doubt him. This TV series predicted a lot of things and some people even labeled him as a time traveler. It is great that one of the best TV-series cartoons is talking about crypto currencies, but as far as I know, they are putting a lot of things that are connected to bitcoin. This picture is also a thing they did.
