Nothing that has not already seen, and with regard to the time in which it happens is expected to occur.People were selling for Christmas, and will sell for New Year holidays.Early next year the situation should stabilize. This is how it looks now at Bitstamp.

Indeed a steady drop in the last hours, but I suspect it to be a temporary thing and will eat my shoes if it goed beneath $400. Not that it does affect me very much (I only own dust), but who knows it might be a nice oppertunity to get some cheap coins and get to the shoe-store.

Steady and rather sharp drop.
10% in a few hours is nothing to joke about.
Hopefully, it recovers as quickly as it dropped.

Well, the charts indeed are looking somewhat discouraging, especially if one bought in at above $400. But considering the fact that we're in an uptrend in the last two months, I'm confident we'll continue this line. Gotta say I'm a relative n00b regarding trading and markets and stuff, so my vision on this doesn't really hold any value  Wink

Bitfinex's high of the day was $460, and it reached a low of $413.44 some moments ago. $46 drop in less than 12 hours is quite big if you ask me.

so your definition of "quite hard" is $10-$15? don't make me laugh please, you know more than us that those little drop are normals swings of the market

this another pure troll thread, get over it the price will not fall below 400, it's rock solid, buy before we skyrocket at 1200, and you will repeat the same shit, when we will fall again at 1100...

Just in case you missed my warning earlier today...
It's dropping quite hard Wink

No, it isn't  Undecided

It barely is under $445.
It was $495 as I was told 2 hours ago, I'm not sure if this information is correct but check my post below, they quoted what I am stating here. So if that's really what happened, yea it was a big fall.

China fell harder than BFX. BFX fell from 460 to 437.xx. Still not a little drop. I have no idea about the futures price before and after, nor do I care. China volume is BS so their charts are BS.

The thing is that no one uses the hedge fund system with Crypto.  I have a "fund" and if the sky were to fall with one coin, I have backups of several coins that will "hedge" the drop.  Putting all your eggs in one basket assumes that basket will never fail.
Well this is the point of being a smart investor. By not putting everything in one go or into one investment. Saving enough for another day would be a more sound decision to make when there is not too many eggs available in your disposal in the first place.

Don't understimate the effect of Christmas sales and the lack of volume and money flowing into BTC.

Things will be back to the moon when year starts

Holiday's bitcoin tradings are known for some reverse aspects. I do see this pull back is to get more power to go forward to break the barriers around $470 to $480 levels. Hoping $500 price levels to welcome the New year.

It is inevitable for bitcoin prices to fall, what do you expect at the holiday season? No exchanges are open and people are on lounging around. Just hope it rises back up after tomorrow. The sales, if there is massive buying in bitcoin, will rise it back up to levels of last week, $475 about.

Hopefuly you are right, that's what I expect, however I can't complain, bought at $250 , and made a lot of money, however this is an investement, not planning to sell for a long time.

It's hilarious to see people trip over each other to sell in fear time and time again... also a bit sad...
