I guess that in the next 2/3 years there will be a huge number of people that will feel soooooo stupid. And I'm not talking about Bitcoin adopters!  Grin
Same thing you can say about almost any big business associated with new technologies at some point. That is not easy task because many internet/technology projects were disasters.
But ff you invested in facebook, google, apple when these companies weren't that big and known you are a winner now. Bitcoin could be our new big thing so it is actually good that not everyone know about it.

exactly. it is like in 1995 when alot of smart people know about the Internet but 99,5% or the normal people (like myself) had no clue.

Banks are jumping onto the technology, and a couple weeks ago I had an exchange with a guy on Disqus, he was comparing Bitcoin to a ponzi... and insisted... until I posted some info from Forbes and IBT he wouldn't believe me, and in the end he didn't even answer.

The doubters will indeed look like morons once they realize they missed the boat of a lifetime. If they aren't in yet, simply put, they don't deserve to profit from Bitcoin, so dont waste energy trying to convert them into believers, so focus on yourself and keep stacking cheap BTC.

they keep to think that there was only one train of bitcoin, the first one that made many rich already and that bitcoin is done can't grow anymore, apaprently many can't understand how bitcoin work especially how the mining work and the fact that there is a supply cap

when  something is tiny, you will not consider it, when this same thing becomes big you start to consider it, but it will be too late, this is the average thinking between average people...

you nailed. same with other assets. people buy stocks when they hear from the mainstream media that stocks are a good investment. but it is too late then.

same with gold: i would buy gold in these days because media says it is dead  Cheesy

I just saw this very revealing pic on reddit:

A bunch of bankers get asked if they own Bitcoin, and you can see what happens.
Bankers arent idiots, they are buying and holding while the skeptics stay clueless and outside the train, sometimes spreading FUD as well.
I guess not everyone can be a winner.

I think that now bitcoin is a reality and there are always more and more people which know it. But i don't think that they which don't know it are stupid. It is not their fault this lack of knowledge. Maybe their has not had yet the opportunity to met it. Or unable to understand well and immediately its future and its potential. To many people tell about the importance of blockchain but me yet don't understand how this tool will revolutionize to many other technologies. Must be on IT to understand this. the same with bitcoin. Not everyone feel the need to use money in internet. So for that people it is not important bitcoin. But even they need to pay something they may use (for easily) the credit cards. So everything done. Why needed bitcoin (for them)?

Most people on Earth will never get the chance to get or use bitcoin...

I am collecting names of people, I want to go back to when this happens. Just to rub it in their smug faces for being so dumb, when they bashed me for believing in it's potential and investing in it. ^HeH^

Lol @ Kakmakr!
I too have made a mental note of various people who have mocked me about investing in bitcoin. I really, really hope we end up going to the moon. Aside from being very happy & enjoying my potential future wealth I will also enjoy coming back on here & giving the bears & trolls a taste of their own medicine Grin

Unfortunately it is normal that people are usually skeptical of new ideas, especially if they are related to finance and the internet making money.
The Internet has so much frauds that is very difficult to distinguish what is good and what is bad.
I guess this will change when bitcoin becomes mainstream and the most important media begin to write positively about Bitcoin.
We also need many merchants to accept BTC.

The more likely scenario imho will go something like this:

Me normal bitcoin guy gets into btc in 2013 and when all is said and done (knc jupiter miner) I made 53 BTC (ah..my precious!) Smiley

BTC 'pops' to 400 or 500 usd say...the band wagon and circus start to play the music..suddenly the boom in BTC is BACK

some guy with more $$$ then god goes ..hmmmmm looks interesting ...jumps in and dumps 500k on BTC on a whim and blows past my puny 'hoard'

and as a result of buying in at 400 usd say when the parade is in full swing will 'announce' how he 'knew' BTC was the going concern and had the insight
to be an 'early adopter' in 2015.....(alas crush my puny hoard)....

so alas I am just the road crew on the superhighway that is Bitcoin....all that labor from 2013 (or for some here 2011 etc) on and 'blamo' the boys with cash
the "instant" they feel comfortable that it is not a ponzi or a scam and simply (in their view) a perhaps 'risky' speculative investment'  in which they probably
invest in many good/bad/indifferent anyway  well sit back and ...wave the checkered flag let the race begin! As most of us scamper out of the way.

well I will be knocked off my feet on the sidelines of said super highway clutching my 'shovel' going WOW ..but being a somewhat better off minion for being in
BTC from 2013 ..I like my yard squirrel will wander off happy with my pile of nuts meager thou they may be Smiley (simple minds...simple pleasures) Smiley

That is not to say it still WON'T PISS ME OFF ...but hey its how this stuff is supposed to work I guess...but if this all works out ..bitcoin..in the way
I hope it will...I will have to mentally prepare myself for this and the associated 'dust cloud' and 'trampling' over and around me ..if/when/soon BTC takes
off (knock wood) Smiley

You kind of missed the point of him saying .... "people will feel sooooo stupid...." He meant, that they will feel stupid, when they realize they spoke against Bitcoin, not knowing it's huge potential and when it goes mainstream, they would have missed out on a big chance to make a lot of money or to have had the early advantage to invest in it's potential.

This is not the first time that i hear that bitcoin is a ponzi. But I heard it from someone which told this the firs time he heard the word bitcoin. Then he did back. I don't know if this guy you told in your post it was at the same situation but if not must be really a very retarded man. It is enough to do a search in the internet and to see haw many info are there (to not tell to read some of them) to be convicted about the importance of bitcoin and about the future of it.

Loose lips sink sigs!
First, I wouldn't put much value in what anyone on Disqus has to say...it's just an opportunity for anyone to post anything about anything. It doesn't give them any credibility at ALL.

People that post on forums directed to a specific topic at least have enough information to either like or dislike that specific topic. So people that comment here, like yourself, are much more knowledgeable about this topic than anyone on Disqus. Don't let those that don't dedicate time to know about a topic have any value in their opinions.

With that said, the guy speaks the truth when he/she says that when Forbes or IBT is talking about it heavily Bitcoin will have made it (provided the comments are positive.) Fortunately for you you'll already have some 'coin in your pocket!

Forget that other guy!

Be cautious when you say that banks and big financial institutions are backing Bitcoin. These organizations are VERY clever. They have seen a opportunity to use the Blockchain technology to their advantage.

They are investing resources into developing their own new brand of the Blockchain technology, and nobody can stop them. This new technology, based on the Blockchain technology would suit their needs, and would

be nothing like the Blockchain, we know and use for Bitcoin. {It will have no annonymity features and it will be centralized within their corporation, but decentralized to branches within the group of banks}

Satoshi Nakamoto have given them the building blocks to create a tool to use against the Bitcoin community. We should take note of this, and decide what we will support. If we are lucky, this new technology will

not be forced onto people, by their governments backing the banks.  Huh Huh Huh

I totally agree...

I have heard about bitcoin from a friend of mine. I don't know if he's on it or just a research. Oh well, because of that, here I am. Looking back on the history of bitcoin, it amazed me how it's value grew over time. I have earned a few bits from faucets, made small investments on a couple of sites and whether or not the value of BTC would go up, I'm still able to learn about how it works and it taught me a lot about investing...

BUT, i'm still hopeful that its value would go up even more in the future...  Grin

Some people only invest in low risk investments. And to be honest, even with the potential bitcoin has, it still is an extremely high risk investment. It could take years to get a decent ROI in the worst case.
