I will give you my personal opinion and experience.  I turned a decent percentage increase this week trading Bitcoin and Namecoin, the two coins I actively mine.  I pulled out my namecoins to fiat about 1 hour ago.  I have left my bitcoins in bitcoin as I believe in the currency more than I do fiat!  I will buy back into namecoin late Sunday evening Eastern time, after the Chinese wake up and start trading, just to not miss any last minute dips.

I believe these weekend dips occur because the "whales" pump and dump just before tack the weekend taking profits and enjoy partying the weekend not worrying about the markets.  Of course the causes the day traders and the little guys to panic and the weekend drop goes a little deeper.

Enjoy the weekend, party and get back to trading Sunday night.  You don't really want to work seven days a week do you?  My miners keep working over the weekend and I check on the occasionally to be sure they're still hashing!

The markets often dip a little of weekends, but not crash.

OK, how about timing the dip?  Saturday?  Sunday?  I have a chunk of BTC to buy and I'd like to ratchet up my odds for grabbing the best price.

If you want that kind of info you're gonna have to pay me.  Cheesy

I've read there is a pretty consistent weekend crash every week.  Has anyone figured out when is the best time to take advantage of it?

There's not. Where did your read this? You should just look at the data yourself. The markets often dip a little of weekends, but not crash.

i would say good luck trying to predict any reliable trend such as that. There's weekends that the price go down and weekends the price goes up, theres always week days where the price goes down and the price goes up.

To answer the question of when is a good time to buy, a good time to buy is when you have some set prices in mind and if/when btc reaches that price.
