Honestly if you are looking for any side hustle you need to learn something online. Gone are the day when you would learn plumbering, building assistance or any other low jobs, the internet offers more than any one can ask for and you can be your own boss.

In my country we actually have low employment rate because the government has chosen not to create any employment avenue but through the internet many youth has been able to find something to do.

Online jobs are extremely difficult to get, especially the high paying ones. When a signature campaign opens up on Bitcointalk forum look how many people apply within a few hours of only 1 spot. Its usually 100 people, applying for 1  spot. Its very difficult to get high pay work.

You are competing against tons and tons of people because unlike an on the spot employment, people can have multiple online jobs at once, hence why its difficult. If there are any high paying online jobs which pay at least min wage of any modern country, let me know.

Whether online or in the physical job it is really difficult because of the competition of applicants because of the pandemic, a lot of graduates, and people who lost their job finding another job on which the competitions now in finding job is very difficult, whether online or on those job fairs but the key on this is patience and have that skill that you will be outstanding on everyone else so that the employer can see you and hire you. I am working remotely right now I would say before I got into this job a lot of applicants went thru, it is just my skills are the key that I am able to get in.

Life's but a walking shadow!
I don't live in the United States, but most of the jobs in the OP are definitely not side hustles in my country (i don't know if they are in the United States of America). I mean, there is hardly any job (as unemployment rate is pretty high) for these to be called side jobs/hustles. Where i come from, and with the extreme burden of labor, it would be almost impossible to combine these jobs in the OP with another different job (mostly 9-5) entirely, that's why they can't be called a side hustle/jobs.

Having said that, quite a lot of people in my country are searching for side hustles to complement their physical jobs that provides little or no income, but most of the side jobs over here are mostly done online, thus you can conveniently do what's expected of you from the comfort of your home, prolly after you must have closed for the day from your brick and mortar job.

People's decision to leave their jobs is influenced by the minimum wage to some extent. When compared to the cost of living, the minimum wage in my country is so low that it makes it practically hard for workers and other low-income earners to make ends meet. These employees have staged a number of little protests in an effort to get the owner to raise their pay. However, I believe it will be difficult for the situation to improve if the government does nothing to safeguard its citizens.

It's safe to assume that the wealth disparity will never close.

I think family assistant, QA reviewer, care coordinator and nursing aide aren't a side hustle because you're need to work for long and it's a routine jobs where you must be ready when someone needs you, not you're the one who can choose when you want to work. Flexible working hours and flexible working place are the important requirement to meet as a side hustle for me.

I was thinking if food delivery is one of the good side hustles for 2023, but I think the wage or income on this is low because, as we can see now, there are a lot of food delivery drivers right now, but the demand of customers to have food delivered to their homes is low.
It's because you're live in third world countries where the people is so stingy, food delivery is no doubt get pay for low, but usually a humble rich people will give you a high tip especially if you deliver the foods during rainy or hot. I think food delivery and driver are have similarity, the main difference is the transportation they used.

It's a pain in the ass to enter a signature campaign anymore. Only minimal positions are open, with the majority of them being due to inactivity or inferior post quality. With new campaigns being introduced only once in a blue moon, the chance of filling a single empty position is extremely vague. Personally, I was lucky to enter Roobet when they were recruiting more members.

Unfortunately, the era of a plethora of signature campaigns is over, maybe for a good reason because lots of smaller ones were recruiting spammers and lower-quality posters. Anyway. The job market online is incredibly tough, as I already mentioned in a previous post. If you're a university graduate, your best bet could possibly be an online internship, which could give you a head start for the future.

This is why here in my country, it is advised to still get an experience first in the local ones. To be honest, many are looking for an abroad work since wages here are kinda low and if you're going to aim for 6-digit salary, better go overseas or......go freelance which is an alternative if you hate travelling.

The global competition of workers is kinda getting ridiculous and makes you think every market you can imagine could already be saturated.

I have a friend that works in the US with 3 jobs and all of them is a side hustle that is not on the list like restaurant waiter, fast food chain cashier and utility aide in a hospital. He is now a millionaire here in our country after many years of spending hard work on those jobs that only categorized as side hustles. Is hustle salary in there is almost equal to the minimum wage of corporate worker or there's a huge gap in the value?
Depends on what you would be engaging yourself into. The advantage of side job is being able to compress your schedule and to be able to earn more basically. But if you will just be earning minimum with three jobs, better find a single one but has decent salary instead. On the usual, ofcourse it would be logically higher and it should be because you are simply having bigger workload over regular employees. If it is just equal there is a problem with your decision making 'coz you'd end up overworking yourself. The term I guess, being used at the present is freelancing on different fields. No matter what you want to call it, the goal is simply to earn more and if it is not being met, be worried that you are just wasting time and energy.

While I don't think this illustrates the entire picture. There are perhaps a lot of things going on which are not being defined. Perhaps it is a step in the right direction.

That was a very interesting read and I agree with the author that side jobs are going up be very important in 2023. So far the economic outlook for this year is not much better and inflation will probably be around 7-10%, whereas as wages are not going to match the increase in living expenses. Looking for some form of side hustle will be the only option for some people to cover the price increase. Especially the family assistance and the nursing aide are two factors that are supported by the government in my country. You can get some extra budget from the healthcare insurance that can be used to help your family and elders. And this money doesn't need to go to professionals, if you know a friend who is willing to help out you could give him the job and not only help your grandparents but also a friend in need.

I was playing around with chatgpt last night and asked the same keyword although not a side hustle entirely but it could also be done like that. The idea was IoT, AI and machine learning.

So, like where are we right now, we're starting to see the trend for AI. And the valuation for its market is getting bigger after Microsoft has given its bid for openai/chatgpt.

Someone can still have a side hustle with this whether on the developer side or just want to work part time on it since the competition of its market may not that be saturated yet.

These are the 10 most profitable side-gigs, according to ZipRecruiter:

1.  Family assistant
For this work, the increasing trend does not only occur in the United States, Asia Pacific is also the country that contributes the most to family assistants. Currently, women dominate the work of household assistants and there are positive and negative sides to this work.

This looks like a second job, except Driver and Domestic Assistant, because the other jobs you mentioned can be done as part time workers. But whatever the name, family assistants are always the biggest demand, even in Asia Pacific this job is often used by women to go to rich countries such as the Middle East and beyond.

There are already lots of online jobs that are in demand nowadays. It's an open opportunity for everyone especially those who want to work remotely and in the comfort of their homes. Skills in these types of jobs could be learned also online through courses and other resources that we can find on the internet.
Enhancing and developing more skills would also offer us more opportunities in the future.
Physical job opportunities are just limited nowadays and the competition is too high despite our good credentials so we better find good jobs with higher compensation online.
The internet is filled with remote jobs now, but it isn't as perfect as it sounds. Generally, they feature IT and tech jobs that aren't available to someone who doesn't have the education and work experience. You mention that competition in the physical job market is excessive; however, that isn't much different in online jobs either, since you're theoretically competing with the whole world. Remote working is great, but unfortunately it's not as easy as it sounds.

I've studied in the economics department but I've yet to find a job in my field. I'm considering the option of online work if I happen to find a position that suits me.

The pay from some side hustles are big enough to keep them comfortable for some weeks, better than earning monthly from working in an office. Talking about side hustles, One of the most profitable side hustles could be the job of a middle man or and intermediary for deals claiming a percentage for every deal sealed. This job is very unpopular and the requirement mostly is that you have contacts of people who perform various services and contacts of people who need these services. It is a dangerous job mind you, but with wisdom you can secure a life changing percentage from a closed deal.
This really depends, but side hustles are usually less than your main job; it's just that you add another source of income because your main job's salary is insufficient to cover your bills. Also, having side hustles is very difficult because you have things to sacrifice like time and sleep. That is why I respect those kinds of people, mostly if they have family to feed, as they are doing this for their family so that they can provide a comfortable life for their children. I also do a side hustle right now, and it is very tiring overtime, but I will use my family as motivation so that I can survive the day.
It is not exactly the same thing. I mean if you have a main job and a side hustle, your side hustle could become your main job as well. That's what happened to me, I used to work somewhere, but then found my current job and then I started to earn more from this than my real job and stopped going to my main job and started to just use my then side hustle to be my main job instead.

It has worked so well that I have been doing it for over 6 years now, because it turned out to be better than any job I have ever had, in fact better job than anyone I know. Hence, your side hustle doesn't need to be a small income all the time, it could very well become your main job slowly.

Here in my country, remote work has become preferred, especially after the Corona epidemic. People have tried remote work and found many advantages and more profits in it.

Most of the people here are full-time employees so they are looking for an easy extra job to increase their income and cover living costs that are rising every day due to inflation, so they find the best way to work through the internet, especially social media, which has become very popular in marketing media.

They promote products through social media and get a percentage of the profits according to their selling activity.

Don't expect jobs from the government because they don't have time to think about the people except allocating state funds for big projects so that they take the funds for their own pockets. I focus on online jobs to learn knowledge of content creation for youtube videos and also try other skills for alternatives to get jobs online, my friends have made tens of thousands of dollars of online income.

While it is not mentioned which income bracket the majority of quit jobs fall into. It is entirely possible the largest segment of quit jobs occur at the minimum wage level.

There was a study published many years ago which could not determine how minimum wage earners pay their bills off of their income. With mandatory spending rising at fast rates. These negative trends could significantly have worsened. Which could define a trend whereby many quit their jobs as their salaries no longer allowed them to afford to cover basic bills.

It is known that many seeking help have high difficulty finding workers. Looking at the above chart where side hustle jobs with salaries as high as $20 can be had at an entry level with "few or no starting experience". Perhaps we begin to see why workers are abandoning minimum wage employment opportunities at high percentages.

While I don't think this illustrates the entire picture. There are perhaps a lot of things going on which are not being defined. Perhaps it is a step in the right direction.

It's interesting to see all the categories that people are side hustling in because this basically defines what is profitable. People move on from unprofitable sectors and they are much less likely to pop up when such surveys are taken, as these skills have been acquired over many months or years. It's particularly interesting to see the craftsman show up so high, but then I guess it covers everything from woodworking to arts and many others. In reality these side hustles are often in areas that people have found profitability or maybe just hobbies that developed into something that they could sell to others, that can be one advantage - it's not necessarily a job if you love doing it.

Not surprised that Lead Generation and Customer Service are part of the list. I work as a VA in Upwork and I see crap ton of those jobs, though I would say that there are a lot of VAs at the site already like a single simple Lead Generation job would be hounded by 50+ proposals/applications. I applied to one just couple of months ago and the client did not even bother reading my application even if I was like having plenty of records already at that site as a Top Rated.

I would say it is somehow saturated in Upwork.
