if you have $100 to invest then invest in bitcoin, you can always be sure that even if bitcoin price goes down, it will come back up someday sooner or later.
but with altcoins the same thing is never true. you should that altcoins are pump and dumps without any real world usage. so that means buying them when price of them are high like in a bubble after the pump there is a good change of them going down and when they do go down there is no coming back and even if it comes back it would take months if at all.
with that said, and you knowing the risks, i suggest PIVX, ARK, Litecoin (specially LTC since it has gone down recently and it still has the SegWit going)

I'm not thinking on those coin, but i have a few coin which i recommend for you this is just my opinion that coin had a good future in case im talking about long term investment, DataBits, iconomi, and of course ETH, Yeah that is in my opinion right now Im currently thinking on ARK or NEM
Check out EDG, just got added to bittrex, price will be going up from here. Very good coin with a good team behind it as well. I was looking into it before it got added to rex but not it is i pulled the trigger and bought in.

my recommendation is NEM because there is a moment that this coins will be increase, i hope that will increase in short time or this week or next week. beside that, NEM have a good project and is not yet gets pump in higher, so i think in short time, the price will be increase like another coins but we need to wait for a while.
