Have any of you tried to report to the moderators for locking this thread? I seem to think the question about this new subboard has been asked several times in every altcoin hype so far, but in the end all proposals were ignored as the hype was only temporary. We're not outdated, OP. Admin and moderators won't easily accept such requests if they don't see it as something that can be sustained on an ongoing basis. Altcoin discussion may still be quite suitable for your suggestion.

Hire Bitcointalk Camp. Manager @ r7promotions.com
This is bitcointalk.org which is mostly based around, believe it or not, bitcoin. There are plenty of other spaces for people interested in shitcoins, tokens & criminally overpriced, pixelated JPEG images.

If you don’t like it here, you can find something more suited to your needs.
Bitcointalk is the biggest place for crypto industry. I tend to agree with the OP that this is not year 2017 anymore. We can use some additional boards. Not saying that all the boards he is requesting, but for NFT craze we may use an additional board.

with the probability of several innovations yet to come, this form of behaviour might result to a cloudy board.
This!
The forum cannot create a new board or sticky a new thread for every new trend that bumps into the crypto scene who's enthusiasts need some validation. There's a board currently for any discussion one may want to have related to cryptocurrencies and even much broader topics; this should serve for all the topics one may want to make, except a situation comes when one of such boards becomes so cluttered with a particular theme, showing it is a very salient topic at that time and needs a much broader space to accommodate discussions, then I think, would a proposal for a board be entertained.

It's not even about a bias to Bitcoin, the forum generally does not get updated often with the changing times, new Bitcoin related projects like lightening network is yet to get a separate board for discussions, much less a hype project built on fomo.
This appears to be the fact about the forum but then, its way through which the decorum of the forum has been preserved not to update based on trending but after proper scrutiny to be distinctively different from what we have and valid as well, then, you can have an update. Like the one stated by Upgrade00 which has been a base for the creation of boards, which is no different from what is what is mentioned here.

Metaverse and NFT could be a subject to look upto but, I don't think so much of Defi. Defi is more like any other project in the crypto space but, metaverse and NFT is a bit distinct and could sock up other projects across what we have. They all fit under altcoins and could be pinned or made a sticky thread but again, with the probability of several innovations yet to come, this form of behaviour might result to a cloudy board.

Still good if they will have sa child board dedicated for NFT marketplace like opensea inside Bitcointalk. In this way we can use Bitcoin to purchase NFT instead of native tokens of different blockchain plus escrow business might boom again. As a opensea user and NFT trader, It's very hard to sell on marketplace that you can't advertise your product or atleast negotiate in talks to potential buyer.

I will be happy if there will be a separated board for NFT buy and sell but I'm not hoping that it will be implemented.

Well, would definitely boost the forum name but we forumers are still waiting for our reporter badges and Bitcointalk V2.

Those things that were proposed ages ago remain in the backlog haha

DeFi is pretty cool IMO, and it very well be the future of finance. NFTs are a short term phenomenon related to excess speculation. There isn’t any immediate need to have subs exclusively devoted to either currently. If you disagree, you should point to 20+ threads that are constantly on the first couple of pages of a particular sub.

Imagine having a NFT subforum, it would be pretty much a classified-fest when everyone's promoting their "art"

They are mostly built over Eth Blockchain and have ERC-20 tokens as their native currency and you would easily find lot of discussion about them on Altcoin board and if you say each separate board dedicated to all of them as sub-board then it's not possible and logical at all.

Suppose if theymos take into consideration your advice and have such boards then what if the trend is over and no more projects are into the market? Then what delete that board? This is all irrelevant as they are sub-topic of trading and altcoin board as @mk4 have suggested to you.

Having sperate boards for taproot and other technical updations in bitcoin seems right to you?

How about altcoins? How about DeFi, NFTs, metaverse and everything trending these days?
There are a couple of thread on all of these issues in the altcoin discussion section, and in my opinion, it's much better to contribute to these discussions whenever they come up in the altcoin section by giving your own input rather than asking for a separate section for each of them, knowing fully well that it will prolly be difficult to implement. It's common to see users complaining about an issue without actually putting in their own personal effort to make the situation better.

Having said that, the only way this becomes a good request is when there are more quality topics/discussion on them, but at the moment, tbh, most of the discussions on this things on the altcoin board is low quality stuff.

It may not be 2017 anymore, but this is still bitcointalk(.org), as in Bitcoin, the criptocurrency some shitcoiners may never have seen.
The purpose of the forum is ultimately to support bitcoin, (and other things, such as allowing people to be as free as possible, and to prevent censorship), not necessarily to maximize profits (especially short term profits), traffic unrelated to the above.

How about DeFi, NFTs, metaverse and everything trending these days?

We'll get there eventually I'm sure.  It's just that most of the movers and shakers have gone on to develop other solutions instead of building on Bitcoin due to restrictive development practices that prioritize off-chain activity.  I'm sure in another several years we'll be able to login to websites using our Bitcoin keys to purchase NFTs and earn interest on our Bitcoin by providing decentralized liquidity swaps.  Nevertheless, instead of trying to change this place to fit your needs, just find a forum that does pay attention to these game changing technologies if that's what you're interested in.  Then maybe you can bring knowledge to this forum when it is ready to receive it.

All about bitcoin, then the (alrightish) trading area, and then the meta.
How about altcoins? How about DeFi, NFTs, metaverse and everything trending these days?

This forum was not created as a consequence of these trends, nor is it necessary to follow them. As some have already mentioned, trends come and go, but feel free to discuss them in the altcoins section.

Times are changing guys, it's not 2017 anymore.

The last time I checked, Bitcoin was still a pretty hot topic.

Shitcoins may come and go but Bitcoin stays forever. Cool

Well, meta is to discuss about something related to the forum even you can't discuss about Bitcoin in the meta board so every board has its own purpose and all the shitcoins goes to the altcoin discussion board so there you go!  Tongue

For a certain project or trend to get a separate board on the forum, it seems like it needs to have so much discussions that if is clumping the more general board it is being posted on.

Trends come and go, but Bitcoin doesn't change much, so does bitcointalk.

They all fall under alternate cryptocurrencies(Altcoins and tokens) regardless of the fancy names they carry. Trust me when the hype dies which we are all sure will happen if you have at least been here since 2017, there will be less interest from members to discuss them just like we don't give a damn about ICOs right now

We already have the Trading Discussion[1] section and Altcoin Discussion[2] section though? Every single one of those fall under the altcoin category. What else do you think we need?

Those things still fall under altcoins.

DeFi is literally token projects(Aave, Compound, Synthetix, etc) on Ethereum/Solana/Avalanche/etc.

NFTs are a byproduct of the same Layer-1 coins named above.

Metaverse, which is mostly referred to when talking about blockchain-games(Sandbox, Decentraland, etc), are also token projects of the same Layer-1 coins named above.

I'm sometimes known as "miniadmin"

I was rather refering to the trends rather than individual projects being "good"; but still the same applies.

If after the ICO fever they'd created an IEO board...Would that have changed anything? If after the IEO fever...DeFi? NFTs? P2E? It's simply the same over and over again, a bunch of people wanting to grab some quick cash.

Judging by your activity on the forum, most of the time you spend on altcoin sections. isn't there a discussion about those things there?

But you have right, this is not 2017, then there was a hype trending around ICO, ITO etc... Now it is the same but about DeFi, NFT... People who were active in ICO time in 2017 probably know how NFT will end.
