No matter who started it (that piratesomething), and why, but we're facing the end of Bitcoin. I see no way that this crash would stop. It'll go down, below 1$ and no-one will have any interest on mining, or using Bitcoins anymore. So I want to thank you all for these years, we had a good run, but maybe the world was not ready for this yet. Later we can find out what went wrong and maybe some day try again. Thank you, horgh is out.

Why how again it seethes and glows!
Away, thou fool! Her torment ease!
When such a head no issue sees,
It pictures straight the final close.

Love that there is no timeframe - just the 'certainty' of sub-dollar prices. So sure about the level but not about the time? You silly troll. Give us a date so we can come back and ridicule you later.

Why proudhon, why do you need bitcoin to crash so low?  It sounds like you want everyone else to panic so you can buy our bitcoins from us at a lower price than they're worth.  Sorry proudhon, but I'm not selling you my bitcoins.
Look at his avatar. proudhon is a bull, that is why he is fear-mongering you all into selling, so that he can buy your coins as cheap as possible Wink

It won't end just like that.  In summer of 2013 the price will rally all the way back up to $7.50 or so and then crash.  In 2014 the price will rally all the way back to $3.75 and then crash.  2015 will see a strong rally back to $1.87 followed by a crash and a healthy 2016 rally back to $0.93.  In 2017 LTC will rally to $100 and bitcoin will be done.  You heard it hear first folks.

We're still above $7.2, the price you said was going to be the high for 2012 (old high becomes new support).

At least the market is interesting again. Anyone's call where the trend goes from here..

The trend is to go below January's high and then stay in the single digits into 2013.

lol, not a single currency is safe from manipulation. LTC is actually even in more danger. You can buy all ltc today with a fraction of money it costs to buy all btc....tiny fraction, and then do whatever you like with it. bitcoin has a real market tied to it and wont fall like in 2011 anymore....which reminds me of betting website =) should check it out.

Wait, sorry, have you not been watching the price this weekend?

I've been mining since April last year. I'm a small time miner about 2gh/s. I just started mining with a single 5850 that I didn't buy for Bitcoin but for video games. I cashed out about 40 Bitcoins when it hit $30 and used that to build a new miner. It's too bad the price crashed shortly after but it doesn't matter much I still made money. I've long since made that money back. I never put a penny into Bitcoin that I didn't make from Bitcoin except the cost of electricity for the first month of mining. Mining to me is like a couple of extra bucks on the side.

It annoys me that I'm making a few less bucks right now because some people were stupid enough to gamble their money into pirate's ponzi. It's always been like this where stupid people affect the market too much. It's occurred a few times. I'm pretty annoyed with this happening regularly where stupid people get ripped off and they affect the market.

Bitcoin won't die because of this but if it did I wouldn't even care I'd be happier.

And why is LTC any better than BTC?  I don't trust LTC.  Please explain your reasoning for this outlandish prediction.  If this post was made in complete sarcasm, please confirm.

When this sort of thing was going on last year it was stressful, and I snapped.  Since I've paid off my initial investment and I'm up by a whole lot, it's entertaining.

Atm I think its buy on namecoin, they're nearly double what I paid for some a couple of days ago.

Damn, how'd I miss that?

You mean BTC is nearly half what it was a couple of days ago.

Well, yeah, there's that.
