Killing Lightning Network with a 51% Ignore attack
Nocoiner ad is just an extension of the Bitcoiners that accept Bitcoins like a false religious fanatic and not as it truly is just a technology product.

Reason and logic is not their strong suit as they are unable to understand the obstacles that faces their tech product.

Bitcoin's
1.  Energy Waste is not sustainable.
2.  Has become centralized and therefore vulnerable to government control
3.  Utility usage can be manipulated by a vulnerable fee system
4.  If Bitcoin Network Costs exceed the Production Cost & Transaction Fees, then the network can't survive for long.

* Many of the religious zealots think the warehouses full of asics make bitcoin more secure, but since thinking is not their strong suit ,
they fail to realize that much centralization now means that Governments can decide who is & who is not allowed to confirm bitcoin transactions. *

*So any Bitcoin Miner that includes a transaction from a Government blacklisted address, will automatically get their power turned off.*  Tongue

Mention the following to a bitcoin religious fanatic , and all you get back , that is fud , or you don't understand bitcoin, or Bitcoin is King.

Bitcoin is a tech product , nothing more , nothing less and as such is vulnerable to real world situations that can arise.

I don't think bitcoin can get killed so easily. Everyday the popularity of bitcoin is rising and people are adopting bitcoin gradually. It has provided so much conveniency to people.

I wonder how this will get Bitcoin killed. Things like these even end up making bitcoin popular. People who fail to make income from bitcoins end up attacking bitcoins and say bad and negative things about it.

You're missing the entire point of bitcoin. It's not designed to be a moneymaking opportunity. Its designed to be a digital financial instrument to increase the fluidity of money and make it easy to transfer from point to point around the globe.

This slogan is a pathetic, uninformed plea to get the general public to buy into bitcoin, probably coordinated at the behest of huge bagholders who bought in earlier in the year, or late last year.

Bitcoin is not meant to be an investment. That's not a matter of opinion.

Well, considering the growth of Bitcoin user base in last few years and the momentum of it. I don't think we need to give **** to these people. I am not against constructive criticism but such campaign is not a wise example of it. These people should come on board and help us to make Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies better instead of wasting time and money in this way.

has it really grown?

when the alternatives get better and better?

This will not affect bitcoins (im)popularity, you are bitcoiner or not. It will not offend people who don't have bitcoins. They simply do not care about cryptocurrencies and just wonder what nocoiner means. And it will not increase bitcoins popularity either.

Yes, chances are no one(or a very small amount of people) will actually be offended by this advertisement. But my point is that it still gives them the impression that people who hold and invest in bitcoin are sort of arrogant crybabies.

It may or may not result in people getting offended, but that is immaterial. If a few people are drawn to trying out Bitcoin, either due to curiosity or due to fear of missing out, then its purpose is served. There is no such thing as bad publicity.

I agree that bad publicity is still publicity, but I kinda disagree with "there is no such thing as bad publicity". I definitely would not prefer bad publicity in a FUD level, on articles like "bitcoin has been hacked" or something along those lines. Sure it still helps people know about bitcoin's existence, but those kind of publicity would most probably push them away from actually reading about bitcoin and giving it a chance.

bitcoin popularity comes from the unpopularity and tiredness of the people with the banking cartel, not from beeing bitcoin.

bitcoin investors unfortunately think and are forced to think the later and so they are marketing the later thinking bitcoin is valuable because its bitcoin

but they are wrong and they will fail

Saying that bitcoin will get "killed" because of this bad advertisement is over exaggerating. This won't kill bitcoin. It's just really really bad publicity in my opinion(yes, I understand. Publicity is publicity). But they could've probably done the advertisement better.

of course they will,

rememeber all popularity bitcoin has is because people are tired of the mistakes and unperfection of the banking cartels, plus a slight part because of the tech itself,

but mainly the support comes from unsupport from the banks, becausae many people and companies live in constant unsecurity from the banking cartels

besides you have this bitcoin is a ramcoin effect, with the other icos and economy increasingly will fight bitcoins popularity and influence.

oh and look what vitalik buterin tweeted:

he sees it the same i do.

bitcoinsect is killing their bitcoin with their arrogance.

I definitely agree with Vitalik. Bitcoin already has a bad rap due to the "bitcoin is only being used by drug users and criminals" FUD. These companies should be advertising in a good manner. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do about it though, they could advertise however they want.

Vitalik's Tweet:
Quote
I deeply dislike the "nocoiner" insult. No, people who do not hold cryptotokens are not uncool losers. They are people using very reasonable heuristics in not personally participating in an industry that they do not understand and there are many justifiable reasons to be wary of.

Controversy is also good advertising and when people see signs like that, then they might think.." Damn, I never knew Bitcoin was that popular, maybe I must buy some " - The keeping up with the Joneses reaction kicks in and the next thing you know, everyone is buying Bitcoin again.

Some people might even have thought that Bitcoin was a fad and when they see this, they will say "Oh, Bitcoin is still a thing, let's buy some"

Do not underestimate the power of controversial advertising. You have to stand out to make a statement under all the noise that are out there.

I agree that this most likely is the intention for the ad. To actually make people think that they're missing out on something so they buy/invest in it. But they could've chosen a different approach in my opinion, rather than trying to be mock-ish, for a lack of a better word.

The literal definition of "nocoiner" isn't someone who doesn’t own Bitcoin, but one who doesn’t own, but also have a great sense of resentment towards Bitcoin, a few economists and people like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates somewhat does fit the bill. Yeah, if the intention is to mock the ones who don't own any coins, rather than making them curious, the ad does seem to lean more towards the us vs them mentality, IMO.

Quote
They don't want to use it/invest in it, so? Let them be.

And if it's to a take a dig at the literal nocoiners, then it simply comes down to feeding the trolls/skeptics. Yeah, different approach, rather than using the term "nocoiner", something meaningful, along the lines of why Bitcoin, not someone who has no Bitcoin would have been a better utilization of the ad space.

Writing or Laughing at so called "nocoiners" (socialists, lawyers MBA business administrators) in new york times square

It's Economists, MBA Economists. What you wrote literally means Master's of Business Administration business administrators.

will not just get the bitcoin even more unpopular as it will be seen by many as arrogant.

it will create more and more cryptocurrencies, cryptocurrency indexes and so on.

How can Nocoiner signs make bitcoin unpopular AND create more cryptocurrenices? Those two things oppose each other.

Majority of people already don't care about bitcoin, so people making flyers about it doesn't make change the prevailing winds. Let people talk shit. Let them do what they do. Let them be the people who in 20+ years say "at the time, people thought it was crazy...turned out to be an incredibly wise investment."

corrected, and added why.
