You're not wrong, but jeez, what is this obsession from everyone on this forum about calling other people "sheep", "sheeple", "uneducated" et cetera. Just like the world economy isn't going to collapse tomorrow, not everyone who doesn't have BTC is a "sheep". It's like the gold bugs who are obsessive.

Sheeple are the ones that are unable to see and dismiss the importance of Bitcoin, not the ones that are not having it. World economy collapse? It's just around the corner, maybe even tomorrow.

Unclear what's driving this. It's definitely not the Gemini exchange; their market share is about 0.5%.

1000 coins a day is better than the 100 they started with, and they compete with already operating coinbase exchange and itbit... this one is all china tho.

I think Bitcoin also attracts a lot of conspiracy loonies and antiestablishment paranoids, I'm not accusing anyone of course but I can see how some "NWO" fanatics are drawn to Bitcoin due to it's anonymous and decentralized concepts.

That's the thing. If you're really so concerned about the governments of nations around the world, and world economies, the "New World Order", and spying, then whether or not you use Bitcoin you're pretty fucked either way. Using Bitcoin isn't going to protect you from some NWO spying agency.

Not to mention the dollar is one of the main ways of controlling us, if we take that away we take away much of their power.

Exactly, I feel that it shares much more with the new world order than against it, but it can go both ways depending how you see it I guess. Also what I meant is that these types of people feel as that they have some hidden knowledge that others don't, you know, about lizard people and stuff hehe!

So then you have trolls calling names to others because they just "don't get it".

It's just as easy to frame it as a potential one world currency that can be tracked with total accuracy. I'm surprised that point of view doesn't pop up more often.

Huh, I wouldn't be so sure and so confident that this is really it. There had been many times that we faced these kind of rises and yet we still return to the low point. There haven't been that much attention lately, only some good news but not actually enough to push the price this high.

Everyone loves to feel that they're in on something special and know something that others don't. It doesn't occur to them that plenty of folks are perfectly content trundling along as they are.

I wonder what criteria one needs to fulfill to stop being a 'sheeple'.

If it is the real deal, it would honestly not be good for a long term investor like myself. I've been loving the past 6+ or so months of stability on this low price. Every month that I looked back I said to myself "wow, I can't believe im able to buy at least 1 BTC each month" was such good news. If the price starts ending, I will not be able to buy 1 BTC anymore, and im more interested in racking up BTC than making dollars. I want to have as much BTC as possible before the sheep wake up and start realizing the true value of Bitcoin.

this price is nothing if you really believe in bitcoin's future. it's nothing more than a dot. it's not even started yet, just be patient.

This.

I'm not going to be mildly happy until we see $1000 again & even then it's nothing (if bitcoin succeeds long term).

And if it was the real deal imagine how someone would feel reading your post in five or ten years' time. They'd be rolling around on the floor and wailing with envy. Be joyous that you might well be in the right place at the right time.

Unless you are speculating and trading short term with huge amounts then I agree this is nothing but a blip. For the rest of us this is clearly a sign that we are moving forward, I mean it's obvious right, the value has been rising steadily all year!

On planet earth, years last 12 months and we're still below late December's or November's 2014 value. On which planet are you located?

Alright I see what you mean, you don't have to be rude, what about from the beginning of the year then? January you know, like most humans in this earth. Extrapolate that to the end of the year. What I meant that value has been increasing for many months.

Finally BTC is rising.

Yes that is good sign because it rising up and crossed that $300 milestone again before end of this month as expected, so many people will thinking it will go down but it moving to the moon.. Grin

Yes I too agree that bitcoin has started it's journey towards moon. The recent positive news and new exchanges has changed the entire story of bitcoin. Many people has expected the price hit by start of November but it hit 3 days before the end of October.

Well google says that Ghana regional interest is most interested.
What does this exactly mean? Most of these are checking only the bitcoin price.
The next one is bitcoin mining which means that are interested in how to generate bitcoins.
