Selling has never been a good option when it comes to Bitcoin investment but if you are a trader who likes making profits out of its volatile market then do so. As long as you know what you are doing then I think nothing is wrong with selling it and buying again.
But, if you are planning to make money out of investment and you are not yet in a good amount to profit then why sell? Keep it, the Bitcoin name has been in the trend, especially with the US presidential candidates using the name of it to get the vote of Bitcoin supporters which is a lot of people in today's era. I predict that a more upward trend in its market will happen in the future.
That sounds like we are going to buy for the rest of our lives if we are to invest in BTC which sounds ridiculous. The truth is, selling is also important other than buying because this is where we can hold and spend our profits. All of us likes to profit, so it doesn't matter if it was investing or trading is the one that we are talking about but it is just that investing and trading are not the same and it is said or known that trading is more difficult than in investing, so we need to consider those first before we hop in.

Even though some investors are not yet in profit, they can't help but to sell sometimes for some reasons. Could be that the asset they have is collapsing. It can also be that they urgently need money, etc... About BTC being used in the Election, I won't be very happy for a while because what if they are only using it for their own gains? So the positive effect can only be for temporary and it might still shift to negative later on.

Bitcoin has been making headlines again recently, with its price fluctuating. As we all know, Bitcoin's market is highly volatile. What are your thoughts on its current position?

Do you think it's a good time to buy or sell?
The price is stuck around 70k$. Do you guys think how valuable btc is right now. Did you ever thought btc could go over 100$ when it was on 1$. Btc is really making strange to world about its price. Though the price is slowly moving but still its on the track. I still hoping it will cross 100k$ on upcoming days specially i want it to cross it within next year. Nevertheless its fluctuating and given chance to us to make small amount of profit. He who are good on short term trading still they are making from this fluctuations. Actually we love btc and crypto for this volatility. We hope btc will keep continue the recent trend and will cross all the limit. Let's see how market behave with us.

Bitcoin has now risen to a very high price at $67,000-$68,000, this is the umpteenth correction. Buying Bitcoin at any time is the right time, only if you can afford not to buy Bitcoin at a price that is already high.
Apart from that, Bitcoin is an investment place. which is safer than the altcoins that are currently on CMC. As you said, Bitcoin is very volatile all the time. Still study the charts before you buy it.

Not that much, we have seen everything already, as you have said it's been fluctuating like crazy post halving. Although majority still believes that it can moved higher in the last three months or so or even touches a new all time high. So my thoughts are still the same, we just need to be patient, and look at the bigger picture. We have a good in the last 3 days of the week and did hit $68,500, had a minor correction yesterday, but today it's again like crazy as investors are buying.

Do you think it's a good time to buy or sell?
Why not? Predictions says that we are going to hit a new all time high, around 6 digits. And if you look at the price, it's easy, we are still way below that $100k, so there are still a lot of money to be made if you continue to buy or accumulate using DCA and then wait next year when we top of that 6 digits if the prediction become true. Nothing beats a investment on Bitcoin and then go long and be a HODLer.

The market is in a sideways position and maybe big buyers are watching and waiting for the next action (consolidation phase) while monitoring news related to world economic policy issues but fundamentally I am sure BTC will soon go up and this is normal when the price goes up, confidence will be born to enter again and if there is a price reversal at any time, optimism will certainly decrease slightly.

If you are a long-term trader, just hold on if you play short-term as usual, apply a fast/short trading pattern.

It’s always a good time to buy, providing you have a low time preference & can hold for many years. Just look at the price 10 years ago vs the price now. We will see diminishing returns as time goes on but still far better than saving cash in a bank. Now is a terrible time to sell though, if you wanted to sell some then this time next year will be a much better idea. The bull run is early, still a long way to go.

You are on the money here.
The bull run should come somewhere in 2025, the start of it, or a bit further down the line. Green is upon us, gents. Let's not waste our opportunity.

Unfortunately most people won't heed this advise.  When things are looking bleak or nothing really happening that's when the market starts to go up.  Ypu habe to learn to sit pat when things aremt looking good.  Warren buffet had the best saying in that "buy when people are fearful amd sell when people are greedy".  Essentially buy low sell high, amd even though it's nearing an all time high bitcoin should extend into 6 digits next year.

There are some speculations that the price of Bitcoin is going to reach $120k before the bear market will set in again, if hopefully the price get to that heights and you have bought now, you will still make some profit but if doesn't, that means you wouldn't get much profit, you will have to hold till next bull market. By the way, what's stop you from buying when the price was still below $60k?

Yes, it is a good time to buy and hold. You can use DCA method to accumulate Bitcoin so you don't have to bother with the fluctuating of Bitcoin price. All you need to do is buy Bitcoin on your schedule with a budget that you prepared before. You can sell your Bitcoin when the price is at the new ATH which we guess that will be near. You should use alarm to know when the price reach your target price so you can starts to sells your Bitcoin. You should go with long term investment with your Bitcoin but this time, when you decide to invest in Bitcoin, maybe you don't have to wait for a long time to makes your profit.

I believe it’s important to consider both the short-term and long-term outlook. If you're in it for the long haul, Bitcoin has historically shown resilience and upward momentum despite fluctuations. On the other hand, for those looking to trade, the current volatility could present some opportunities, but it also comes with risks. Timing the market perfectly is tough, so it might be worth assessing your risk tolerance and investment goals before making any decisions.

Do you think it's a good time to buy or sell?
From a long term investment perspective, regardless of the market situation it is always a good time to buy bitcoin because it has a tremendous amount of potential to grow. Look at the peak of the last major bubble for instance. It was about $19k which means even if you had bought at the peak, you would have still made a lot of profit now that price is $65k-67k.

But of course you always want to make your investment at the best time possible which means inside the dips. That means when price crashed a little while ago below $60k that was the fantastic opportunity to buy bitcoin. Something a lot of people miss out on because they are usually scared or have fallen for the FUD.

Considering how we still aren't in a major bull run, there is no bubble and also because price is below intrinsic value, any price we hit below $70k is still a golden opportunity to enter.

long-term holders may look to cash out at higher prices, leading to possible sell-off.

That's obvious, however, not everybody has the guts to hold long enough or when they see red. Especially new people on the market on in the space in general.

I could say that this similar thread is in existence but where it is meant to be well discussed, which is in a Bitcoin discussion board or threads, not in an altcoins discussion board hence I consider this topic off. However, you made mention that Bitcoin market is highly volatile yeah no doubt about Bitcoin volatility but my question is what can you think of other coins in terms of volatility?  Funny enough other coins are far more volatile when compared to Bitcoin, Bitcoin market volatility is not a big deal for a long term holdler who will rather be  thinking of how best to increase their holding irrespective of the market conditions since they will not be selling any time soon, those that are mostly concerned with market conditions before making decisions are those chasing short term profit, traders.

Market feels strong.

there has been some people calling out that BTC will dump around $68k due to resistance, honestly I don't believe this kind of fud, as far as I know, big financial institution are also bullish, have you seen news about some financial institution buying BTC?
they are bullish even buying at this high price, I'm sure they know that BTC is the future.

so, worry not, price probably gonna go up, we are at resistance area right here where supply abundant but once supply is drained and the buying pressure still strong, expect BTC to go off, probably you will see billions of short liquidation in the future.

We're not yet on the peak. This isn't a financial advice but if I were you, if you haven't saved that much to your fully potential and with the capacity that you have, I'll initiate to buy as many as I can before the great bull run arrives. We're in a bull run but if it's based on the cycle, there's a better one upcoming. Learned from my mistakes and that's why I am betting on this one but I wouldn't against someone else. We have our share here to spit to the others but in the end, it is you that will be followed whether you'd listen or not. But don't blame someone with whatever decision you have come up with either selling and buying at the top, bottom. It is always us that knows what to do and this is no uncertain time compared to the past trends that we have been through.

Bitcoin has run sideways for awhile now not sure why anyone would ever sell in a market like this one unless you needed to for the fiat for some reason.  We haven't seen a big bull run yet so I'm hoping 2025 is the year we see things start getting better.  Everything has been holding pretty tight so I think it's more a buy opportunity right now.  If you want to stave off some risk cost average in periodically so if it does drop you don't blow all your buying power at these prices.

Much better, we're having a lovely day whenever it moves like this. Going back to $68k took a while for this year but then, it's all worth the wait and prolly more on 2025.

Do you think it's a good time to buy or sell?
What is your plan? if long term, hold and buy. If you need money, sell some and keep some for yourself to hold.

It's a good time to buy and also to sell, depending for how much you bought it and what your needs on the present moment are. The tendency is that Bitcoin gets stronger in the final months of 2024, so the price has potential to rise even more yet. The effects of the halving year can last until 2025, so we can expect the bull season to continue alive until there.

Some people believe Bitcoin price won't retreat anymore from the 50,000$'s ever again, but personally I believe this market is made of cycles, and once the bullish trend is over, it's possible Bitcoin will crash deeply, just like it happened in previous cycles.

Therefore, if you are buying the peak on the transition from bullish to bearish, make sure to be prepared to hold for a long period of time if BTC crashes suddenly.
