KYC is a big no no to me. There are so many mafia in sheep's cloth they might appear as exchange site or other financial services that might steal your info or might use your passport photos to make evil transactions!
When we are talking about exchange or coins I just headed in the scam section and check if there are reports, if there are a lot of bad reports and feedback i consider a big warning for those who wants to use and invest on these kind of programs, and I read there are a lot of bad reports on scam section, go check for yourself.
Changelly exchange rates are insane, too much, in 2017 it wasn't really like this but now I can't use their service anymore simply because of their rates, I've never lost any token using changelly so that's say much about it's safety but rates are way too much
It depends on the coin. Sometimes it's tolerable, other times it's been not too far off double the market rate. They just go and buy on Bittrex on your behalf, or that's what they've said in the past, so they have quite a bit of stacking to do on top to make anything from you.

Cancel transactions without customer permission? That's not so true, never happened to me once and I have been a fan since early 2017, sometimes it takes longer to receive your coins but that's it, you will always get the coins no matter what, now they've compulsory KYC and while went smoothly It's the KYC that scares users away from these exchanges and this Changelly is just one that asks KYC. I was surprised about this accusation though but I found the exchange reputable because once upon a time CMC had been promoting as an affiliate. I could be wrong about this but I have seen it before where they have a signup button on CMC going to Changelly.
Coinmarketcap has been noted to promote lots of scam and shady ICO before. The community have been calling them out for years, so seeing Changelly being promoted by coinmarketcap doesn't mean that we can trust them.
But I do agree that once they implemented KYC, many crypto enthusiast started to move away from their services. Besides, there are a lot of options now, unlike before where there are less competitions and so they became one of the game changers.
A reputable exchange asks for KYC upfront and that's it. A disreputable one like Changelly springs it on you whenever it feels like it and uses it as an excuse to hide behind. Monero users in particular have had a lot of trouble and Changelly have openly stated they will keep your money if you don't satisfy them.

Some say they're owned by the same people as Minergate/Bytecoin/Freewallet/HitBTC and and others and the latter two have the exact same MO so it's possible.
Shitty rates, KYC; worst of both worlds. Go on if you want to be robbed.

Some multiple accusations against them, to be honest, I used them in the past, however, when they enforced KYC to their customers, it is the final nail in the coffin, never use them again.

When shapeshift go to the path of asking KYC then i do switch up to Changelly and dont have any problems at all but one day they do also go to the same path.
Plus, having some issues with them which had already been given above.So i wont really tend to make use of this instant exchange again.This is why
i did try to use coinswitch.co when it comes to fast swaps and doesnt have any kyc or problems about verification or some sort and actually get the job done.

Always avoid exchange platforms that have history of multiple negative feedback. If many people are complaining about a particular platform then there is iota of truth about what they are saying. There are many good exchanges you can use out there without any glitches, fast and reliable. You can use them to trade whatever coin you want to.
It has lots negative feedback, and open scam accusation. They do selective scamming and asking KYC when you sent coins that they thought came from dirty source even if they don't.
